I've never flown in a tunnel so take what I say with a grain of salt. They are a good tool to simulate FF and some tunnel time with coaching would definitely help you prepare for flying on an actual skydive. That said, if your financial situation has you choosing between AFF or spending money on the tunnel, I'd recommend just going straight to AFF. I've never been there, but I understand Bedford Bodyflight is a 1st class facility: http://www.bodyflight.co.uk/ I'm ignorant to UK geography so forgive me if that's not in the area you're looking. Welcome to the sky

Are you a smoker? I'm 6'3" and have weighed right around 160 for the past few years. I was retardedly skinny. I quit smoking back in January and I'm gaining weight at a healthy pace (and exercising to make sure that I don't end up one of those skinny guys with a belly hanging out). If you smoke, stop! It'll help in the weight gain and you'll feel much better

Not sure what software you're using but if you're burning iso's, I'd suggest you use a free software called imgburn (Just google it and you can find a download). I've had bad luck burning images from Nero & Roxio: they are very inconsistent and sometimes just straight up don't work. imgburn hasn't let me down yet

I used to have bad luck on every type of goggles except the easy, cheap plastic kind that are one piece of plastic with a cord around my head. Now I only jump in either those type of goggles or my full face. If you have a contact bail on you in freefall, just stick it in your mouth as soon as you land (assuming it's inside your goggle and didn't fly out the space above your super-stylish shades). Your saliva will re-moisturize it and by the time you drop your gear off you can stick it back in your eye. Sounds a little gross but it works

When I started working wireline a little over 8 years ago we'd have 'gun loading parties' where we'd arm the explosives for the next day's work over a few beers at the end of the day. I got in right on the last few months when we could do that....The company that bought us back then had a pretty strict safety policy that denied the presence of alcohol and explosives in the same place.....Go figure I got nuthin

Thank you for the awesome skydives girl! Come back soon so we can get you your SCR! -
I was shopping for a CX100 on Amazon.com a few weeks ago and picked up a new one for $335. I just looked again and the cheapest I saw was $393 for a new one. I'm a complete camera noob, but I don't know if I'd trust a refurbished camera in FF. I got nuthin

There are toll roads around Dallas/Ft. Worth. If you're heading from Ft. Worth to Dallas and not paying attention you could find yourself on one, but using the website Justin posted you could probably avoid them. For something to do with the family in Ft. Worth: they've got one of the nicest zoos in the world here, and a botanical gardens very close to the zoo. There are a few museums around. Probably the cheapest 'nice' accommodation you'll find would be a Motel 6 or a Howard Johnson. If you want to drop the family off at the pool and go jumping, there's lots of options for that too. I think that trying to associate the 2006 plan and the increase in crime is a HUGE stretch. The increase in crime is most likely related to the DRASTIC turn for the worse that Venezuela took when Chavez came into power, and it's continuing to go down hill. There's been a huge separation in class and there are a lot of people who have next to nothing there. In almost every part of the country, they're currently rationing electricity and water. Skydive Colombia used to jump about every other weekend, but it was not consistent. I haven't been in Colombia in a while and I haven't been in touch with anybody from there so I'm not sure if they're still jumping. It was a great time with a great group of people when I did jump with them. You might want to get in touch @ http://www.skydivecolombia.com As the OP said above, Skydive Venezuela rocks as well and the people are great. It's definitely a FF oriented DZ and when I went there by myself as a belly-flier I couldn't find any other belly people to jump with. But if your focus is FF then this is a great place to have some fun skydives and learn a lot as well

Hey Granny! Austin is a lot of fun...I'd recommend Pete's Piano bar for a good laugh and a few drinks. San Antonio is about an hour down the road and the River Walk there is worth checking out if you have the time. There's some shit-talking going on about DZ's but I've had an absolutely amazing time at San Marcos & Temple. Maybe I've just been lucky but I've never been bumped or seen anybody bumped for tandems @ San Marcos. And SDD is NOT a tandem factory. Anybody who says that hasn't seen the joint and/or has a bone to grind. Sure they do a lot of tandem business, but they also do a hell of a lot to keep the fun jumpers not only happy and coming back, but also becoming better skydivers
