  1. If it's real, I doubt if you get to opt out.
  2. You'd make more money with a career as a banjo player. That's where the real money is.
  3. My wife felt the same way and her comittee, or whatever you call it, said it was one of the best they had ever seen. I bet you are more ready than you think.
  4. I used to work for a place that used nothing but refurbished Dells. No problems.
  5. I'm being blunt: 1) You sound like my 12 year old daughters 2) You say you are into living in the moment, but I'm willing to bet that you are saying that now because you have money now. If you were broke, you would not sound so whimsical 3) There are hundreds of scenarios that could run their course in which you will inherit ZERO money. Only a few are listed above. If you don't listen to anything else that anyone is telling you, believe this. I've seen it happen countless times 4) Google "financial calculators" and find out what $20,000 will be worth, untouched, in 35 years at 12% interest. Once you do that, try it again with 15 years instead of 35 and see how big the difference is 5) Take $20,000, open an IRA and invest it in an aggressive mutual fund and forget that you have it 6) take the other $5,000, take AFF and buy some good used gear 7) Dying young and penniless at the end of a well lived life is fine, but a little prudence early on can insure that it will be well lived.
  6. lay face down on the floor with your feet resting on the couch. Lay there and alternately practice pressing down on the couch and tapping your toes together, Tapping your toes keeps your legs symmetrical.
  7. Constructive: Try to avoid combining red & yellow.
  8. I believe you are correct; my point was that the technologies have already been meshed together. Cool. Did you get to jump it?
  9. I inquired about this extensively and have only found the 2 options listed above. The d-bagging of the paraglider looks kind of nuts to me and the PARIS system would be wildly expensive if they would even sell it to a civilian. I've e-mailed them about pricing and never got a response. Gaining altitude in thermals requires a low sink rate which you would be able to get with a really big zero porosity canopy like a 400sq foot tandem canopy. I think the most practical way to jump from a plane and stay aloft in thermals would be to adapt a tandem canopy to a sport rig and find ways to make the harness more comfortable. You would not get the kind of glide rate or cross country performance you could get from a paraglider, but I think you could ride thermals in it. I started looking into this a while back, but set it aside because I think I need to focus on getting my jump numbers up this summer. I would be very interested in other opinions on this.
  10. I may be wrong, but I don't think they'll sell to civilians.
  11. He'll be a kid no matter what you do. Enjoy it.
  12. Choosy mothers choose Jif. How do you spell "choosy?"
  13. Did you notice he almost went out with his mask on?
  14. I had a similar problem with my PD 9 cell 230. Tried all the tricks in the book, with no effect. I measured my slider and called PD. They said it was too small and sent me a new one for free. Problem solved.
  15. It's not an extreme sport, it's THE extreme sport!!
