  1. President Biden has some blame to bear as well. With the radicals on the USSC now and the resultant abortion ruling it should have been a slam dunk victory. - trump picked a cast of misfits, delinquents and political novices. To run on his MAGA, election denial platform. It should have been a dem home run. - Biden got the US out of Afghanistan, delivered a historic low 3.9% unemployment rate and finally ended the US pandemic. It should have been a dem. celebration. The democrats have to reconnect with the average Tractor Supply low wage voter. Looking at Florida for example: "Since the last governor’s race in 2018, Republicans registered 26 new voters, on net, for every Democrat. In some counties, like Miami-Dade, the number of registered Democrats has actually fallen since 2018. “The secret is there is no secret,” consultant Shannon Love said of Republicans’ success. “They do the work. I think that Democrats get caught up in the message and the polls instead of doing the consistent work.” Biden has refused to leave the WH and connect with the public. Where are the democrat attack dogs out selling democrat victories. Attacking republicans.
  2. I agree with this. Thirty five percent of republicans believe the election was stolen from him. This is his hard core base. The NYpost, DeSantis, Murdoch and anyone else that wants to challenge him. Will be in for a fight. Evidently he is blaming his wife for recommending Dr. Oz. He will turn on and cannibalize anyone that gets in his way. He has a massive war chest of $200 million and can probably still raise $30 million a month. He has completely driven out of that party all old stream republicans.
  3. trump has had dementia since birth. Every time he has had to recognize his personal failures and mistakes. It flares up. Every time he is called to testify in court proceedings. It totally cripples him. Anytime his brain searches its recesses for the truth. Dementia blocks any findings.
  4. FOX told him that. But it was Putin's idea. Doesn't matter FOX, Putin, Putin FOX. All the same. But soon it will be Xi, Putin, FOX all intermingled together. With the eagar minds of FOX viewers eagerly lapping it up.
  5. Why the hate on for Elon? He has lost over $90 billion since last year from the drop in Tesla and Twitter stock prices. Twitter of course is no longer publicly traded. Ok so he said he wouldn't sell more Tesla stock. Then broke that promise and dumped another $8 billion after that promise. Including $3.8 billion last week. Ok, so racists and trump will need a place to gather. To trade laughs about Soros and his fight for democracy. Xi, Putin and trump all need to spread the message about freedom and republicans!
  6. So no GOP sweep. Even when they pass laws in Texas such that you can't vote if you reside in a college dorm room. Then you can't vote using your home address. Because you don't live there. All that gerrymandering still didn't produce more than 3-4 corrupted victories.
  7. Gloating over Brent being wrong is some sort of oxymoron isn't it?
  8. Concepts that I expect from real Christians. Those that understand how religious ideals can guide thinking, behavior and interactions with non believers. As I've stated before I think that religion is a net benefit for societies. I think that for many people the socialization associated with teaching charity, kindness towards others, etc. Is valuable. Unfortunately false prophets infiltrate religions. IS, Buddhists in Myanmar, hardline evangelicals in America. America will swing away from this temporary religious pseudo-nationalism. But it will take time. The USSC pro-christian bent will take time to dissolve.
  9. Corrected to reflect my position. Since I doubt that you're touring America with Michael Flynn in his ReAwaken America Tour . Since you're not advocating civil war or arming for an "upcoming civil war". Since you've come across as a responsible Christian who follows the beliefs of Jesus Christ. Just a hundreds of millions of Muslims follow the teachings of Allah. Yet do not try to use the state and good governance to impose those beliefs on others. IMO you're pro democratic. As are most followers of god(s) in America. A religious subset of christians in America that seek "far-right, authoritarian, ultranationalist political ideology and movement, characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the perceived good of the nation and race[white(and religion)]" I see on the weekend that DeSantis came out also claiming a akin to god. Just as trump has done on several occasions.
  10. Muslims are not trying to use religious action, political action, pecuniary actions, to achieve power. In any western country.. Yet you insist upon throwing back a disingenuous argument that the false equivalency is religious terror committed in other countries. Or at least I assume foreign countries.I frankly can't be bothered to research your examples. Because the equivalency is not the same. I have not argued, or suggested, that Christians are using terror for religious political objectives. Yet it seems as if thats the sole example that you have. I know you can do better. So I'll just put it down to agreeing to disagree. Then put this to rest.
  11. To argue that Muslim racism should be used in debate with specific examples of anti-democratic actions of US Christians. Is a prime example of false equivalency. "Religious freedom expert Amanda Tyler, discusses the latest court cases and trends in religious freedom" Christian Nationalism Is ‘Single Biggest Threat’ to America’s Religious Freedom The idea that the fleshing out of anti-democratic Christian actions. Can't occur because it brands everyone the same. Is like saying Nazi fascism can't be addressed because it brands every German as a Nazi. I am talking about the christians that are infiltrating political power in the US. Using the pulpit, dark money, anti LGBT, the ReAwaken America Tour together with the GOP to do so. The same ones funding anti LGBT events and actions in Europe. Below from "Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty," which I endorse. "People of all faiths and none have the right and responsibility to engage constructively in the public square. One’s religious affiliation, or lack thereof, should be irrelevant to one’s standing in the civic community. Government should not prefer one religion over another or religion over nonreligion. Religious instruction is best left to our houses of worship and other religious institutions. These are among the core values that are at the center of the initiative and part of a statement that anyone who identifies as a Christian is invited to sign."
  12. I have never said that they are "all like that". I objected and refuted Bill's suggestion when: " I never said that all Christians are GOP fascists. But they themselves have recognized political power and become political animals to pursue religious objectives." The US constitution separating religion and government. The Johnson Amendment and the tax freedom that religions are privileged with. Are there for a reason. To separate religion from politics associated with the state. If Muslims used tax freedom status. Used the mosques to fund raise, direct political actions to seize control of government and the courts. To gain control of school curriculums, voting and lobbying. All for a purpose to inhibit the freedom, or impose a religious advantage to the followers of Allah using the power or authority of the state. Upon the non believing public. I would say the same about them. Both of you fail to recognize the danger of Christian nationalism and religious affiliation with governance. This is how religious nationalism goes wrong. Buddhists Go to Battle: When Nationalism Overrides Pacifism No this isn't 20 years ago. Just as the Russian Orthodox church(Christian) is working for Putin today to kill Ukrainians.
  13. Your frustration is overpowering your common sense.
  14. Don't worry about a complete shit show. What do you think is going to happen when trump starts yanking the chains and strings of his new GOP subjects. Such that Mitch McConnell can no longer control congress. Throw it to the courts? Do you think that they will help? The USSC is being groomed for a new set of rulings. That will be a shit show. For those who did commit crimes. The sanctions have been tiny. Who is to say that the fines on the ambulance chasers. Wasn't paid by the ambulance company. Consider the fines to be pro-bono work. With the billions of cash sloshing around in political donations, PACs, etc. They will make out like bandits. Heck just Christians alone budget a quarter billion a year in dark money for political actions and subversion of dimocracy. Dimocracy is the turning out the lights of democracy by subversive actors.
  15. Of course it doesn't. You're being silly. Just as gun owners have formed a voting block to support their goals. Christians have formed a voteing block for political purpose. I never said that all Christians are GOP fascists. But they themselves have recognized political power and become political animals to pursue religious objectives. Including: -Stacking the USSC with christian conservatives. With abortion rights out the door as a result. Now driving a religious lobbying objective for more radical results. -The GOP cancelled the Johnson Amendment. "Lyndon B. Johnson cemented into law is the “Johnson Amendment,” a provision of the U.S. tax code that prohibits religious organizations and many nonprofits from endorsing or opposing political candidates." -The Supreme Court ruled in 1962 that it’s unconstitutional for a teacher to lead a class in prayer at a public school. Now the USSC has tossed that out the door. -99% of GOP concresscritters identify as christian. It shows.
  16. Plenty is not a significant statistical majority. The organized active voteing group. Poll after poll has shown that Christians turn out for elections. That they have become very politically active in the last two decades in the US. That they have an agenda associated with that political activism. The recent stacking of the USSC and the abortion ruling are almost solely the result of Christian activists. I'll leave the debate about anti-democratic aspects of those two events to others. Usually you're right on. Not on this one.
  17. Republicans enjoy twenty percent more support among Christians than do democrats. 53% of republicans among the 569 republicans in midterm elections deny Biden's win. in addition 70% of republicans "have doubts' about Biden's win. Election dental(of Biden's victory) is prima facie anti-democratic. Christian nationalism is anti-democratic by definition.
  18. In order to practice democracy you must allow even your enemies to assume power. You must not hinder the rights of your enemies to have voteing power equal to your own. Even when we believe that they are not being just. The process of democracy must be absolute. Abraham Lincoln stated that those in power must have—“malice toward none” and “charity for all.” Come Tuesday you may be right in your own experience. But wrong in national opinion.
  19. So young! So naive. More than 3/4 of Republican evangelicals want US declared a Christian nation If you think the USSC and the much touted constitution is ready to protect you. I'd point out that the USSC is:: The Supreme Court is leading a Christian conservative revolution Perhaps Ron can send you a free bible so you can brush up on current morals. ....er....Oh yeah thats been superseded by trump's latest speeches.
  20. Just as MAGA republicans use Christians to pursue a political agenda. For which their leadership has happily wedded in an unholy alliance. Putin has co-opted the Russian Orthodox Church in an almost exact fashion. With the church endorsing convicted criminals and murders. Being set free from prisons in order to go to the front.
  21. Hence the Scotch to suppress the pain.. The prescription for which I agree. I would have hoped that the US experience with populism would have run its course with trump. But it appears as if another two years of brain numbing stupidness are necessary. IMO American voters are somewhat to blame. The rest of the world has had to face the devastating inflation of the US dollar as the reserve currency. It seems as if cheap imports are a drug for US consumers. The rest of the world has had to deal with oil import transfers of wealth. The US consumer expects cheap gas as a birthright. Ordinary historically low interest rates. Unemployment at 3.5% would be a slam dunk for popularity of an incumbent government. But "stolen elections" have consequence.
  22. -Two thirds of republicans have doubts that Biden won. -"Among 595 Republicans running for state-wide or federal office, 308 have raised doubts about the validity or integrity of the 2020 election -Republican candidates running for Congress or governor found that 175 - or 35% - have fully and publicly denied the outcome of the 2020 election. -the America First Secretary of State (SOS) Coalition a pro trump, conspiracy believing coalition fighting for governors and secretary of state Is fighting for control of future elections. On their terms. They peddle conspiracy theories like "Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer won by ballot stuffing funded by George Soros. These groups, senators and individuals in charge of regulating elections. Could hold the balance of power in America come the new year. With a stacked USSC to back them. And you're distressed by one vote. At least you don't sweat the big stuff.
  23. 1. They can use the tax free status of the religion to fund raise and organize 2. They are already organized and use the top down hierarchy to drive votes and ideas. 3. They use the righteousness of their position to demonize democracy. 4. They have a voting turnout rate of 89%(evangelical Christians) v about 75% for democrats. 5. They cast aside values and integrity for political power. aka trump and the USSC. 6. They use the Sunday pulpit to demonize "socialism". 6. Democrats are just not prepared to compromise values like Christians are.Until they do they will lose.
