"blamed carbon taxes, falling oil prices and increased regulatory scrutiny" Carbon taxes relate to the signed Paris accords supported by about 71% of Canadians. Effectively its about 22 cents per US gallon. Regulatory scrutiny relate to industry pollution and environmental laws supported by a much higher percentage on Canadians. Oil prices are substantially beyond government and industry control. On the TI corruption index the US has dropped 5 points since trump took office and the US ranks 8 points below Canada, Which is 12th in the world tied with several other countries. The corruption index is probably the best banana ranker. The US, at 23rd ranks one point above Bhutan and two points above Chile.Wondering what causes changes in the TI corruption rankings? Think trump!

Odd that you would mention that. Caligula lusted after his sister, trump lusts after Ivanka Caligula used women wantonly for his pleasure. trump will also #*ck anything in sight. Caligula loved to humiliate and embarrass those around him. trump loves to insult and humiliate those around him. Caligula ruled Rome for four years. trump despised and humiliated America for four years. Caligula made his horse a state official. trump made trump Jr.the horse's ass. Caligula considered himself a living God. trump considers himself above god. Caligula had statues of himself in the most important temples. trump used charity money to put his images up wherever good taste was absent. Caligula's images and memory was vanquished from Rome after his death. Just like trump come January 20th.

FIFY "The Praetorians were known to engage in espionage, intimidation, arrests and killings to protect the interests of the Roman emperor. For clandestine operations, they may have employed a special wing of troops known as “speculatores.” Formerly a reconnaissance corps under the Roman Republic, by the imperial era this unit had graduated to serving as couriers and intelligence operatives in the service of the Caesar. Speculatores and other members of the Praetorians would disguise themselves as ordinary citizens at gladiator contests, theatrical performances and protests to monitor and arrest anyone who criticized the emperor. They also kept tabs on suspected enemies of the state, and in some cases they even secretly executed those judged to be an imminent threat to the emperor or his policies." This should be required reading its William Barr on his actions as a Praetorian Guard which he quotes directly.

FIFY and he hold those tweets dear like Ron does the verses of the bible.

Ah! doublethink, it might be time to dust off Orwell's 1984. If trump wins I can meet some of you at the border to help with food vehicles, etc.

Brilliant. Its part of the training of prison guards to become familiar with the psychology of their inmates. Come 2021 they will welcome trump again and be familiar with his MO.

Which is worse overt racism or the kind that trump supporters are more apt to adhere to. Church on Sunday and Aunt Jemima jokes Sunday night?

All part of the new greatness of America, according to trump....and his base.

Unfortunately General Mattis was a bit too deferential to his former commander and idiot. Previously Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said Trump had the understanding of “a fifth- or sixth-grader,” Probably why his supporters relate to him so well. White House chief of staff John Kelly called Trump “an idiot” and said he thought the president was “unhinged,” Omarosa Manigault Newman, who was the highest-ranking African-American staffer in the West Wing, called him “racist, misogynist and bigot.” Both Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and former chief of staff Reince Priebus called Trump an “idiot,” Wolff wrote. Former economic adviser Gary Cohn said Trump was “dumb as shit,” and former national security adviser H.R. McMaster said the president was a “dope,” Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon said in November 2017 that Trump was “like an 11-year-old child,” Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in July 2017 called Trump a “moron,” McMaster mocked Trump, also calling him an “idiot,” McMaster also said Trump was a “dope” with the intelligence of a “kindergartner,” Hence his support from his similarly inclined base.It should be noted that all of these people were hired by trump himself.

Most trump supporters like video clips to tell them what to think. Its much easier than reading. Any references to history are lost because history isn't taught in elementary schools. Furthermore comprehension is only fully realized when multiple colors, authoritative tones of writing and derogatory references to HRC, etc is used.

No, he denies and denies that he is a child of FOX news. That he never reads or studies traditional areas of conservative thinking. Most likely he has never heard of or read William Buckley Jr., or George Will. Like almost all trump supporters he likes to be told what to think. Unfortunately there are others on SC who are like that.

Precisely.

Nothing about this is a protest. (NSFW Racial Expletives)

None of this should be unexpected. trump has been a coward and a bully all his life. Where this scene differs is when his advisor to the left of scene looks resigned at the coward king. trump at least has surrounded himself, after diligent work and effort. With advisors that will always smile, nod and approve. -
Unfortunately King is but a symptom of Iowa voters natural inclinations. The stop sign is now gone. But an alert voter would know to stop when they see a crossroad like him again.

Defeating cancer has proven difficult but come November it can be done.

Mr. Will is of the old school of the GOP. trump belongs to the one who believes that the beatings will continue until until morale improves...er is broken. Today Mr. Will speaks to independents.

Ron, Turtle, etc. does provide useful feedback that the trump, WH, Miller war room. Stroking racism, white nationalism, divisions, pandering, distracting and orchestrating the chorus of dog whistles. Is active and firing on all cylinders. Logic, fact, intelligent discourse, just can't compete with the inner circles of social media. Who digest the latest meme on what to believe. -
National protests against Minneapolis police murderers?
Phil1111 replied to normiss's topic in Speakers Corner
Whats more Christian in trumps mind than using jackboots, live ammunition and gas for a good photo op. Evangelicals cheered, his loyal white supporters loved the bible in his hands-nice touch. MAGA, this story made headlines around the world. Even Mark's friends in Iran were showing the clips. Beauty! -

There also seems to be a concerted effort on the part of LE to target journalists. The emperor wears no clothes and it is a retina burning sight. -
Arthur Finkelstein was a GOP strategic planner who wrote the battle plan for trump's election win. He brought the core enablers into the trump sphere to fashion a plan to deceive America. Steve Bannon, Roger Stone and others were all Finkelstein protege's. They taught trump, their social-media skills and enabled their followers feed each other in an eternal cycle. "Populists separate campaigning from governance. Their leaders are selected not for any governing skills but strictly for their ability to drive engagement. That’s why many of them — Beppe Grillo, Boris Johnson, Trump — come from entertainment industries. A quick route to engagement is arousing anger. In Finkelstein’s words, “The guy who says, ‘I have a seven-point plan for fixing the pensions system’” will lose to “the guy who says, ‘Throw them out! Get rid of those people’”. For Finkelstein, more important than choosing one’s own candidate was selecting the right enemy. The ideal enemy is a person or group who can be presented as the embodiment of assorted evils. The populist script says: no matter how placid and safe your country might seem, this enemy intends to destroy your way of life or even kill you." This is how and why trump gets his followers to pick enemies like George Soros. "In 2004, Finkelstein joked: “In terms of the Republicans, Hillary Clinton is a wonderful candidate for the presidency.” Working for Orbán in 2013, he chose George Soros as the enemy. (There were obvious echoes of Emmanuel Goldstein, the Party’s enemy in Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four.) Finkelstein, though Jewish himself, used anti-Semitic tropes against Soros. He wasn’t a racist; he just liked winning games. Populists attract some extremists. The populist candidate never disavows them because they are his strongest supporters and they make him look moderate by comparison. So Trump needed the Charlottesville neo-Nazis" Buzzfeed went further to cover this story: The Unbelievable Story Of The Plot Against George Soros How two Jewish American political consultants helped create the world’s largest anti-Semitic conspiracy theory. The two stories above lay out the ground work as to how trump and other populist politicians use conspiracy stories. Use social media, data gathering, memes and lies. To spin their ideologies to their followers.

While Bill Gates and his foundation primarily donate money and fund health care initiatives thought the world. George Soros has chosen to fund democracy, human rights and civil rights. He is fact the second largest philanthropist in the world after Gates. "George Soros is an exceptionally busy man, at least according to right-wing conspiracy theorists. Just within the last year, he has been credited with single-handedly funding the Black Lives Matter and Antifa movements, as well as with bankrolling (as a false-flag operation) the white-nationalist rally in Charlottesville against which both of those groups mobilized. Soros has been accused of masterminding Colin Kaepernick’s NFL protest and the Women’s March, and with pulling the strings that led H.R. McMaster, President Donald Trump’s national security adviser, to fire alt-right–aligned staffers. And last week, the supporters of the Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore alleged that Soros paid women to falsely accuse him of sexual assault."... In October, Soros disclosed that over the last few years, he has turned over around $18 billion to the institutions through which he has channeled his philanthropy, the Open Society Foundations (OSF). The enormous gift was met as a confirmation of all the darkest fears stoked by his antagonists. Pointing out that Soros’s foundation would now rank as the second largest behind the Gates Foundation, the right-wing website announced the news by referring to OSF as the “Death Star.” Soros is in fact the enemy of everything Breitbart, trump and Darth Vader..er.. I mean Stephen Miller.
