Well I've been wrong before and somehow I think the American choir will be in harmony for the first time in four years come January. As far as preachers go the evangelical flock will be facing the stark reality of confession for their sins. Sizable pecuniary donations will be necessary to atone for those sins. But prayer and donations won't atone for their moral bankruptcy. Preachers will spin it though they always have.

Completely agree. Without these forums i would have no idea that thinking like Ron's existed as I'm not a researcher of sociology or psychology. As such I would have no direct interactions with such types. Without direct interactions outliers like him are difficult to quantify. I know Brent plays with everyone in his responses. Nobody could have been born in 1940 and never changed in the least and I know he's not dumb. But I've never met anyone so set in their ways. Custer's last stand comes perversely to mind.

Sorry Joe you're wrong. Anthropologists need dinosaurs and SC needs people like Ron and Brent. Such that trump supporters can be understood, analysed and dissected.

The Dunning-Kruger Effect and the Bizarre World of Fake Martial Arts
Phil1111 replied to a topic in Speakers Corner
After a two hour read online from probably two dozen sites. I can find nothing of substance about Mr. MacYoung. There doesn't appear to be any biography of his education in martial arts. Except for what he promotes about himself. He claims that all martial arts are self promoting, self enriching scams of no real self defense value. Yet he claims to have the answers to all self defense situations himself. Through his training seminars, his books, his advice. He has no documented skills but what he claims himself arose from his personal fights on mean streets. "Don't piss people off', 'don't be a victim', if you get into a fight, its your fault. So the best remedy is to run as fast as you can. If you can't run, everything is a weapon, use that weapon. If you fight to win, using every available weapon, every striking point and his exclusive techniques. Any attacker or trained martial artist has no chance. He provides proof of his abilities claimed in his "expert witness" list. Yet searches of those named actions within those states of those cases produced no results. i.e. those legal matters don't seem to exist. The quotes from the aforementioned expert witness list like "New York vs. Vincent Scotto 2016 (Knife, violence reconstruction)" etc. Would read as if the DA of the state of New York. Brought into court Mr. Marc "Animal" Mac Young. as he evidently prefers to be addressed by. Without either education by a law enforcement agency, or professional training body. Except for his own of course. To testify about "violence reconstruction". Think about it and that list of cases he offers. "Violence reconstruction". What does he presume the courts deal with, DA's think, most felony cases are about. Presumably the "mean streets" gave him a diploma in "Violence reconstruction" like a decade of FBI training and a forensic science degree from a college. "Violence reconstruction", better known as Fake news. Just too bad i can't get those two hours back. -

Here is a very good article that explains much about why trump repeats the b.s. about himself. Why fake news and his b.s. is so persuasive to his supporters. It is worth reading in its entirety. It ties into his "love for the poorly educated". Why when they find out that they have fallen for a lie or "fake news" they still tend to believe the story anyway. Memorial day holiday and the bone spurs president is campaigning again. Evidently it not the time to remember and thank those who have sacrificed. But to campaign for elections. Team Trump campaigning at beaches Memorial Day weekend FOX today. Trump turns Memorial Day event into quasi campaign rally MAGA banners flying over a beach near you. Four years ago trump was using the holiday to honor those who have served the country. To praise himself, to lie and to hide his own endeavors to betray America.

the horror, the horror!

add the GOP to that equation. trump would be history now had they fulfilled the oath they took to uphold the US constitution. 55,000 to 60,000 more Americans would still be alive if any other president had taken control of the C-19 crisis. Kim would have had less of a nuclear delivery capability. Iran would not be rushing their nuclear program. trump has betrayed America and this weekend that should honor service personal. Is instead one where America is losing a war. More divided than ever. One where China is taking bold steps against democracy in Hong Kong. Where North Korea and Iran are going all out on their nuclear/ballistic missile programs. Where Putin and Russia consolidate their victories in Syria, Iraq, Ukraine, Crimea. All of it due to trump's stupidity, bungling and efforts to appease enemies. One where only retired politicians and service personnel can speak the truth. Because everyone else gets fired by the illegitimate commander and thief.

Get back to work, get the economy moving, its my constitutional right to work. A hair stylist in Missouri worked for eight days at a salon while sick with the coronavirus, health officials said, potentially exposing 84 clients and seven co-workers. Re-elect trump, yeah GOP, and go to church on Sundays. Instead of bailing out Boeing, the airlines, etc. the focus should be protect low wage workers that would be forced in such foolish dangerous positions. The stupidity of the stylist aside.

The Road to Coronavirus Hell Was Paved by Evangelicals

Evidently there are the odd evangelical hater as well. A tip for investigators is that the arsonist has poor spelling, perhaps. Church that defied stay-at-home orders burned to the ground in suspected arson "Bet you stay home now you hypokrites." was painted on the church property. -
The Dunning-Kruger Effect and the Bizarre World of Fake Martial Arts
Phil1111 replied to a topic in Speakers Corner
"More than sport, fighting, or self-defense, the martial arts are first and foremost about life. About finding what is at the essence of your own being and expressing that essence. The martial arts are also about art. ”To be a martial artist means to be an artist of life,” Bruce Lee once said Your entire premise is that fighting alone determines martial skill. When those who have studied the arts will tell you that to win by not fighting, is the essence of the arts. The reference to Hollywood B.S. is correct. Naturally the gun-fighting scenes of most movies take serious liberties with reality. If you shoot allot the tremendous training to shoot accurately with a handgun becomes evident. Especially so as distance increases. With a rifle a solid continuous stock cheek weld with eyes, sights and target in perfect alignment together with a calm trigger release is necessary. Either with a rifle or handgun competition ranks your abilities. Real field competitions. Since the majority of your post references martial arts, lets stick to that. The best scene in martial arts illustrating the absolute mastery of fighting is this. Don't confuse ego, money, the desire of some to create business from the martial arts. The Hollywoodization of fighting with martial arts. With MMA as it exists today. Where the entire class is spent on technique alone. One individual in a ring with the emphasis on a fight doesn't define a art. Just as an impressionist painting isn't necessarily a master. -
trump relishes conspiracy theories. His favorite quotes are "i heard", "people have told me", "I can't tell you now" and on and on. That how he undercuts his opponents and tries to explain away his failings, his mistakes. The hacked Democratic National Committee server was somehow in Ukraine. Sure his followers and FOX sucked that one back like a cold Miller on a hot day. From back in the 1970's when he would phone the National Enquirer using fictional identities to plant favorable stories about himself. Or alternatively leak damaging gossip about others. His followers like the intrigue. What does he mean? Why can't he tell us now? It all blends into talking about him.

He clearly asked for other opinions on the article and represented that he had not formed, or didn't offer one for his own view. Sidestepping debate by changing the subject, refusing to concede valid counterpoint or facts would also make you a....."meat robot" no I can't be bothered to google that one. I'll just cause it disingenuous. Beyond that there is the annual report to congress Military and Security Developments Involving the People’s Republic of China 2019 136 pages pdf China is vulnerable to any prolonged conflict as it has almost no domestic oil production. The US has allies in the area of which Australia is the most notable. They have recently substantially increased their budget for new weapons. China's military adventurism quoted most often as a reason for that need.

There is a reason why Brent sidestepped the higher resale values of EV as compared to conventional vehicles. As the miles mount the repair costs are disproportionately higher for conventional vehicles.

The Michigan AG said trump 'is a petulant child who refuses to follow the rules'. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) has ordered facial covering in workplaces. But its beneath trump to make an effort to protect others. He re3fused to wear one today at a Ford plant. Mrs. Nesslel the AG said "I think the message he's sending is the same message he sent when he took office in 2017, which is, 'I don't care about you, I don't care about your health, I don't care about your welfare, I don't care about anyone but myself,' Too bad they didn't arrest him on the spot. Just another example of trump bullying small business.

An important factor related to social distancing not discussed much is the use of Ukrainian garlic sausage. I first discovered this several months ago when encountering a man thoroughly imbued with the noxious fragrance. I could smell him at about 60'. Prior to the introduction and use of masks it was quite effective. Proper effect means ingestion of at least the equivalence of two or three cloves a full day prior to the needed results. With proper effect it establishes a ten to twenty foot safety airspace around you. A halo of protection so to speak. If your body is in real form its possible to create even deeper zones of personal safety. A large, long and noisy flatulent release of garlic gas from your lower vent is sure to clear most away. ...Hey safety first. I'd have to ask trump if garlic kills C-19 but we are not on speaking terms now.

I need to stop hearing about precautions in public spaces. I normally hold my breath when near, about 30' from someone in a grocery store and walk faster. But I found that I was holding my breath from the time I entered the store till I left. But a couple times it didn't end well when I woke up on a gurney with paramedics giving me oxygen. So I had to quit that.

Normally he would have included 'beautiful" and repeated perfect a couple more times as well.

The concept that the general population is unaware that physicians talk to each other. That their national bodies don't act as a conduit for new, updated, information, training in specific areas of practice. That there are periodicals, websites where information on viral medical practice is shared and exchanged. Is astonishing. It seems as if patients get their education from politicians and medical adverts on the 5 o'clock news. Then know more than their doctors who have never learnt a thing since they graduated from medical school. With a million and a half cases in the US now there should be a sizeable number of cases like hers. But who knows, in the mind of trump, the GOP, Q, etc. Perhaps there is something about Lupus that acts an an enabling mechanism for C-19. Defeating or overriding the HCQ. trump better study that or at least have a press conference to re-inform the medical establishment about how smart he is. On a side note trump is back to campaigning sans-mask. So I'm still hoping.

IMO the most dangerous occupations in a C-19 environment would be dentistry, barbers/hair salons, and on in that order. A friend was describing the regulations for dentistry. Both patient and dentist in FULL protective gear and all procedures in a small completely sealed enclosure that is fully cleaned after each procedure. If the dentist needs an assistant they are in complete protective gear. Including foot baggies, pants upper jackets, gloves face shields, masks(except patient) and hoods. Before the patient can put on their protective equipment the assistants must watch the patient wash their hands and arms to their elbows.

There is a shade of a difference but its very difficult to quantify. This is a story on how conspiracy theories spread online. “Plandemic,” a slickly produced narration that wrongly claimed a shadowy cabal of elites was using the virus and a potential vaccine to profit and gain power. The video featured a discredited scientist, Judy Mikovits, who said her research about the harm from vaccines had been buried."... On the morning of May 5, less than 24 hours after Mr. Willis posted “Plandemic,” a Facebook group dedicated to QAnon, a right-wing conspiracy group, posted “Plandemic” to its nearly 25,000 members with the headline “Exclusive Content, Must Watch.” So there seems to be a clear link between susceptibility to conspiracy theories and identifiable groups of people. Groups of people that trade in conspiracy thinking. Not every GOP voter loves conspiracy theories. But a poll yesterday stated that 40% of Americans think trump has done a good job dealing with C-19. That is very very discouraging.

I've heard that about America now, electrification, in almost every home. A person could refuel their battery, go to work and back. Never risking C-19 by having to go to a gas station again. Pump handles and keypads can be contaminated, so take precautions to avoid exposure
