SCOTUS says federal law protects LGBTQ workers from discrimination
Phil1111 replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
There is the science of reading what the facts are with regards to gay-straight people's propensity to commit sexual crimes. Then there is the meeting and knowing gay people. Either should dissuade a person from thinking they are a danger to others including children. But then there are......... who have an agenda based upon......... -
For Canadian and US LE the training is that you only fire when your life is in immediate danger. Otherwise you don't shoot. For aggressive suspects within about 10 yards a knife is judged to be as lethal as a gun. i.e. in about two seconds a armed individual can be on top of you. As such you shoot to kill at the center mass of the body. Currently you don't shoot to wound because if the attacker has a gun or knife. The time lost in a miss or a non-lethal wound. Will have the attacker either on you with a knife or them shooting, or shooting again. IMO the essence is that many countries deal with this and there are far too many civilians killed who are unarmed. In both the US and Canada. Furthermore a vest is a nice protective feature in a fight. You don't want to punch a bullet-resistant vest with your fist.

I was prepared to blame it on the whiskey from there.

Agree although a fleeing suspect acting as a direct threat to someone else may he a hard sell. I also like you MOH idea. IMO LE training 3-6 months vrs two years in Europe is the core of the issue. In the latest Atlanta case. LE had his physical license, had his car and had many minutes of face to face video. Even though the victim had a felony DUI, two cases of felony assault on LE officers for fighting and felony(?) theft of the stun gun. The shooting was unnecessary. I can see the LE side on how a lessor disciplined officer could shoot. The officer had just fought with a larger man on the ground. He had his taser stolen and the intoxicated man was making good his escape. It seems as if adrenaline got the better of any sense of situational awareness. He should have just chased after him. Surely he could chase down a bigger drunk and there were two cops. Either way it turned out very bad for both of them.

The law is that you cannot shoot unless your life is in danger. There have been several Blacks shot while running away. They had his physical drivers license and his car.

F*#kin savages, those whites. Contempt for law, for their communities, for hardworking business.

SCOTUS says federal law protects LGBTQ workers from discrimination

This guy? Ultra-conservative writer Milo Yiannopoulos will no longer speak at a US conservative conference and his book deal has been cancelled after videos surfaced in which he appeared to condone paedophilia. The footage showed him discussing the merits of gay relationships between adults and boys as young as 13. -
SCOTUS says federal law protects LGBTQ workers from discrimination

This ruling is a crushing defeat for evangelicals, for those who sold their souls in the worship of trumpism. Everything was bet on SC appointments launching a new right wing conservative agenda. Justice Gorsuch sold them out. With regards to bathrooms, child molestation, rape of children and adolescents. There is ample research to show that gay, transgender people are statistically less inclined to commit sexual offenses than heterosexual people. Consider: 'As much of the nation was recently celebrating Christmas, a Memphis pastor was arrested for sexually abusing a 16-year-old family member. What makes this heartbreaking story even more repugnant is that church and family members had been informed about the abuse two years earlier, but failed to report the crime to the police. Instead, they decided that the best response was to simply pray for the offender and hope for the best. " -
The principal behind that website www.frontpagemag.com David Horowitz is quite the character. “I'm drawing attention to all these neo-Nazi Muslims and leftists because this is the overlooked but real neo-Nazi movement in America. Richard Spencer and his Charlottesville idiots are marginal and have no significant following, unlike SJP [Students for Justice in Palestine] and the campus Jew-hating left.” —Twitter, December 25, 2017 "The faculties of our liberal arts schools in America and in England are dominated by communists and pro-terrorists. And that may sound extreme, but it's actually not." —Interview with J-TV, May 16, 2017 “The difference between Islamic fanatics, or Jew haters, and Hitler is that Hitler hid the Final Solution, and the Iranians and Hezbollah shout it from the rooftops. And the whole Muslim world accepts it.” —Speech at the University of Southern California, March 23, 2016 and can't leave Blacks out: “Unfortunately, as a nation we have become so trapped in the melodrama of black victimization and white oppression that we are in danger of losing all sense of proportion. If blacks are oppressed in America, why isn't there a black exodus?” —“Guns Don’t Kill Black People, Other Blacks Do,” Salon, August 16, 1999 The white supremacist anti-Black agenda went full frontal: In 2002, Horowitz used FrontPage to repost an article from the white nationalist publication American Renaissance. Some content was purposefully omitted from the article, which detailed a gruesome murder of four white individuals by two African American assailants in Wichita, Kansas, in December 2000. The article, however, merely served to stoke fears and anxieties of black on white crime in America, a common topic among white supremacists and one that Horowitz also hoped to amplify. Horowitz published the article on FrontPage with a disclaimer written by him defending his decision to repost it. In it, he offered a soft critique of longtime white nationalist and American Renaissance founder Jared Taylor, who he called “very smart and gutsy.”

Well its been law since January 1, 1863, that Blacks are free and equal before the law in the US. It will be some time before attitudes like Baker who refused to make same-sex wedding cake wins U.S. Supreme Court case, change. -
Yet the feeble trump, the same one who "Doctor: Trump Dictated Letter Attesting To His 'Extraordinary' Health". Relies upon fabrications to steal elections. Perhaps his morbid obesity will be referenced as "beautiful" in trump's next dictation about his health. Together with his athletic obstacle negotiation of stairs, ramps, etc.

Right wing SHTF dreamers like Mark, Ron stroke their AR-15s and M-4s hoping that a burning Wendy's restaurant will set all of Atlanta on fire. All of America. That they will finally have the opportunity to start eating their 30 year old barrel of rice and dried beans. Just to imagine that trump has brought their dreams to fruition. Thats if trump doesn't fall down on the next ramp he has to negotiate and kill himself.

POTUS niece Mary Trump is set to publish a tell-all this summer

The trump library full of books trump never read. -
markharju throws around "communism" as if its a physical quantifiable force. When its a social-economic theory thats absent in any pure form anywhere. Just as capitalism is absent in any pure form. Socialist programs have shown again and again to be necessary for the efficient functioning of societies. Throwing the label of communism doesn't help in markharju making any of his points. In fact if makes him sound like a 22 year old that just finished his first read of The Wealth of Nations and has never considered nations states development since then.

Yeah but what little mind he had started shaking a decade ago.

God no, from the evangelicals....crickets... injustice, homicide by the state or agents of the state. The churches, their mouthpieces want SC appointments, gerrymandering, vote suppression, and all the other benefits. That keep old white parishioners in power. Why stop a good thing. -
Police repression combined with government and societal indifference. Racial domination.

Was it those bastards Bill Gates and George Soros? -
It seems to me as if another demigod spent the last months of his political life in his bunker. He cost many lives of his countrymen. He also has trouble with shaking, trembling hands.

Its announced then but available for injection January 20th.

I've said it before here. Its like disbelief, horror and disgust. Its like a neighbor next door that you've known as as upstanding family. Who suddenly sinks into mental distress, where the children are unkempt, the husband beats his wife, alcoholism, etc. Where social workers are there daily trying to help to no avail.
-
America needs a over-riding news suppression service to "capture and kill" stories like that. When the stale allows unlimited gun ownership, when it creates fictional enemies for political purpose this is the result. I mean Ron is pretty far out there. But a mental disconnect, guns and rampant government endorsed conspiracies....yikes!

Evidently AC-130's are next on the block.

The trump tribe's idea of gotcha. Make counter accusation to distract.

Just when you thought trump was done feeding the pigs at the trough. The Trump administration just snuck through its most devious coal subsidy yet Dec 23, 2019 Its a long complex story but once again spinless GOP hacks and trump. Have managed to reward friends at the public expense.
