  1. I was about to do that too...ya beat me. Can't let any misinformation spread.

  3. First of all, I want to commend you, for, like..., not being totally lame like those El-Ay people, and like, saying "the 75" and "the 10". I noticed it too driving down from the Bay Area to Santa Barbara. A lot of people oblivious to you overtaking them and not pulling over to the right.
  4. My youngest step bro and his wife gave me a License plate frame that says: Top: Skydive Bottom: Good to the last drop!
  5. Exactly what I was thinking! You're such a cool mommy (you should have another )!
  6. Betsy, Let us know if Grue is running around like a kid in a candy store and jumping his butt off.

Depends on the weather. Warm night? Just undies. Winter? Shirt and flannel PJ bottoms.
  8. I started off as a CS major 12 years ago, took Pascal, C and some assembly language which I had no idea wtf it was about. I finished off as a Math/Stats major 5 years after that 1.5 yr stint, taking some SAS later. I have done Actuarial work and work as a business analyst now, dabbling in occasional VBA and SQL through Excel, Access and SQL Navigator. Really, I would NEVER say I work in IT or call myself a programmer and don't even really like programming. I'm an ANALYST and can read/do some code when needed. I just want good data to analyze. Even I vaguely recall what a makefile is!
  9. they didn't send you one b/c you're a ludite. they didn't think you would need one when you boarded your menonite wagon. Girl, he worked you. Hah!
  10. My dad is one of seven, and when his mother passed away, his oldest sister took on the "matriarch" role and she takes that very seriously, from trying to bring everyone together at the holidays (or a few weeks before) to being the center for all information (gossip) in the family. I had lunch with her daughter when she was in Seattle a couple months ago and I let slip some information about my brother that she didn't know. Her first response? "Does my mother know?" If that aunt of mine doesn't know, it's not known. Though I don't get back for stuff with that side of the family very often,I'm glad she's taken on that roll in the family. That's sweet. I replied one, but really between 1 and 2. My "real" family (I have 3 moms and 2 dads - its a story), but my Dad and stepmom are boring - they just don't do anything! They never do any activities with me/brothers or go anywhere for vacation. Even though I was going crazy and needed to get out of the house 10 years ago, I enjoy visiting everyone. My parents still live where I grew up and even if my stepbros are not around, I can usually find friends from church that I know or grew up with to do stuff with. I still love them and want to visit them though.
  11. Quote from a Health Actuary: "It depends on what type of health policy she was looking at. An employer sponsored group health plan would certainly not exclude accidental injury from hazardous hobbies. A traditional individual plan probably wouldn't, but a person would be wise to check the policy carefully. Many insurers offer a low-cost short term medical product, designed for healthy people in transition. (Changing jobs and COBRA is too costly, just out of school and haven't landed a job yet. etc.) These policies are set up to be affordable and to provide mostly catastrophic coverage, so they tend to have high cost sharing, and they often will exclude listed hazardous activities such as skydiving to avoid selection problems."
  12. That's pretty much me too... The only time I have somebody behind me in the left lane is because I'm stuck behind a doofus who won't move over. The only other time I've had someone behind me in the left lane is when that someone is a state trooper... Me 3 or 4 or whatever. I use cruise control in the left lane, but of course move over once I've passed someone on the right if someone is behind me. The person behind me can wait at least a few more seconds, but I shouldn't test their patience. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who are either oblivious or just inconsiderate to other drivers and don't/won't get out of their way. People do this on escalators too and this bugs me. When I was in Germany, people would stay on the right if they were standing or on the left if they were walking - very efficient and worked well.
  13. Same here, although I am here from now all the way thru the boogie. Liz I'm interested, but will only (potentially) be there from 12/29 eve to 1/1 morning.

  15. You guys are trying REALLY hard..... Someone add me to the Maybe list. I found out that three friends won't be in town when I visit my parents in Santa Barbara from x-mas to New year's. There seem to be more and more reasons for me to drive down to Tustin and hitch a ride with Orchid to Eloy for a couple of days.
  16. I'm not certain, but activities aren't necessarily excluded by Health Insurance. Life Insurance, in general is. But with Life, you'll either be ineligible or have higher premiums.
  17. Don't quite agree, but that is probably correct to some extant (e.g. you think 90% I think 40%). But again, this is is an internet poll, some there is inherit adverse selection. Nothing you can really do about it.....and answer my PM!
  18. You rock! So I guess you're one of those 1% that are made to look bad by the other 99%. Quick legal opinion...I got a speeding ticket back in the summer, paid the fine and then need to go to traffic school. After a couple months of not getting the traffic school list and completion date, I called the court and found out that they sent it to the wrong address - the officer switched two of my digits when he wrote the ticket. I guess the mailperson figured it out the first time but not the second. When I called, my completion date was only a couple weeks away (12/28). They said I could honor the original or write a letter. I wrote a letter. Are they likely to honor my letter? I think I provided a reasonable (non-snarky) explanation.
  19. She might be wearing a plaid miniskirt. Would that be okay? I talked to her earlier this week, she's not coming.. sorry guys.. I'm sure Grue will be OK if you're the one in the skirt with the pigtails (recalls horrifying censored gay sex image someone posted a few months back to make fun of AggieDave)
  20. You may have beat me, but my poll is better.
  21. Ask and you shall receive.... Notes: 1) Dental/Vision not included in this poll, as there would be too many combinations 2) Every poll needs a 42 option
  22. Pretty smart for a 4-yr old to ask those questions! Oh, and are you going to answer my PM I sent you a while ago anytime soon? I've thought up more questions in the meantime.
