  1. What, is it just some domestic crap like Bud/Coors? I suppose at the bars in Spain they would have good variety, but Spain isn't known for its beer in general. I'll drink San Miguel or other Spanish beers, but Spain is generally limited to a few lagers (still better than Bud/Coors though).
  2. Never had any formal goals, but.... - Finally got my 'A' after about jump#80 - Finally got my own rig, even if it is old (still works fine - now I just want new since I'm jealous of everyone else who has new) - Have done close to 2x as many jumps as next highest year (2003 - 26, currently at 54 for '05). - Been part of a sucessfull 11-way (or maybe 12) - Turned 10 or 11 pts on a 3-way once. - Did two CReW bumps (one planned, the other not, but not scared since the other person was experienced)
  3. Sorry, but while this program may be top notch and they may be marketing themselves well, it seems rather misleading. GRADUATE THE NEW ZEALAND SKYDIVING SCHOOL AND GET....the glorious job of 'Packer' for $5 dollars or so per packjob! Wow! Or manifester for a few jump tickets or $10/hr!
  4. Would you say the glide angle of the Sabre2 is in between a Pilot and Sabre 1? Just curious. The Pilot is noticeably flatter than my old Sabre. I jumped a Sabre2-190 once, but my WL is only about .82 with that, so hard to compare when jumping a Sabre1-150, Pilot-150 and Pilot-140.
  5. Only 180 HP? Woa. That's like the weakest Cessna ever. I think Mullins' KA has both TWO 750 HP engines or something. Not sure though - never jumped it, but would love too.
  6. PJ, Why don't you fill in your profile as well? Tell us more about you (# of jumps, equipment, etc.)
  7. The Parachute Center in Lodi, CA (about 30 miles or so south of Sacramento) would probably let you. As mentioned, these are probably all non-USPA DZs.
  8. Well mine is 15 years old (DOM 3/91), unknown jump #'s (probably >1000) and flies fine. I think it was relined somewhat recently...and I just had a patch fixed nicely! I probably won't stop jumping mine for 6-12 months.
  9. That's because you smiled, like in your creepy avatar, and scared people. Exactly. It's scaring the crap out of me.
  10. So where's the Byron Boogie 2006 video? He is not THAT fast.. Let's jump at the Byron Boogie 2006 first.. You guys got me...OK 2005 then!
  11. ME!!!!! Oh, wait. You're talking about incidents. Nevermind.
  12. 0 (although I would put , but I guess we are not allowed to put actual altruistic things): 2 : 0 (although maybe it should be something) Two jumps after a 3 week drought. Fun, fun, fun!
  13. You weirdo. Go get a real M-F job. I did two jumps yesterday at Byron...got soft links (and other stuff done) put on the Sabre 150 you used to jump. I can now pull the slider down and put it behind my head. Mad John CReW bumped me too on the Sunset load.
  14. FYI For those of you here that were so concerned about my (short) cutaway cable, I just got my rig back yesterday from the rigger after a repack and some mods. I got: the reserve repacked, a hole repatched (some actual fabric and stitching as opposed to the old stick patch), soft links and....a re-routed cable through a hard piece across the top of the reserve tray to give me a couple more inches of cable in the riser housing. When I felt that (prior short) cable in the housing go to about just an inch or so to the limit of the housing, it felt like, OMG, I have some length! Just thought I'd let you guys know so you can stop worrying.
  15. Hey! Are you posting from abroad? Go back to hobnobbing with the in-laws! (Btw, I payed Clay yesterday for the S-Links as well as his stuff.)
  16. His last name isn't Moses is it? I knew an Omri when I was in Boy Scouts 15+ yrs ago.
  17. Well, we had it up north in NorCal as well. Since most of my skydiving stuff except rig was in my backpack that was stolen out of my car, I just jumped in jeans and a t-shirt on Sunday at Byron. I borrowed an Alti from Mad John and some goggles from Manifest. I couldn't believe that even on the sunset load it felt like it was still mid 50's at the coldest at 14K!

    What to do?

Whoa. Where'd you get that info? I'm not in Vacaville. Yeah, know. Internet. I'm probably there too.
  19. That's funny. I always thought the Racer looked a bit gay... Feast your eyes on this extremely non-gay Racer, my friend. The main is not packed because I was too lazy, which is slightly gay, but still a gorgeous piece of non-gay equipment for sure. Walt I think that would qualify as a "Hippie" rig - as probably most Racers.

    What to do?

Well, I just answered my own question. Vacaville. Well, I suppose I could be there in a little over an hour to get drunk as well if I tried.

    What to do?

Ummmm...Lisa, what town do you live in?
  22. After watching the vid (I wish it was just a few seconds longer to see the openings), yeah, I think I'm like that.
  23. The alternative are the straight cash ones. Citibank's Dividend one pays 1% (5% on gas and groceries), up to $300 a year. That's a 14cent/gallon rebate on gas. I've given up on the rewards programs that offer a potential value, be it in gift certs and airplane vouchers. Seems like too much more work. I really should cash out my miles on my current card and get that one. That way I'll still end up getting at least SOMETHING back. At the moment though, I have a RT US ticket to use.
  24. Also think about availability/convenience of provider. I know that in the North Bay, Kaiser is the best. I think they have a decent facility somewhere near The Haight. Btw...we have about the same jump numbers...have I met you at Byron yet? I should be there this Sunday to pick up my rig from a repack & stuff.
