  1. Damn you! I was going to post this!
  2. 0:1:0 One nice swoopish landing at Cloverdale...looks like my knee is a little hurt though running out the landing. We'll see tomorrow though when I go running during lunch.
  3. It was still in the mid-70's up in NorCal this weekend!
  4. Nothing ever happens in Byron I'll be there though, I'm sure there will be a nice crew out Yeah, don't you live there? Must be why you smell - no running water. That has nothing to do with water, I'm European, and according to Americans those people smell, and on top of that my diet doesn't help either.. Dude, I was kidding - it was a jab at there being no running water/showers. Besides, everyone knows it's the Eastern Europeans that smell.
  5. This does not make sense. If you have a certificate from SkyRide, you have contact info for the Dropzone, call them up and see if they'll let you jump.
  6. Totally agree. If < 1 yr, then Months, else years (no, I'm not a programmer and don't know how to do it that well even if I can read some VBA/SQL or whatever). 1.5 is fine if the kid is near that, but >=2 just tell us whole numbers. Oh, and this goes doubly for pregnant women and "weeks". Just tell us the nearest month! We don't know WTF weeks is supposed to mean! Exactly. Mexican chicks tend to do this -stop it!

  8. Is this why? They only getting REALLY fat chicks or what? Not necessarily, although as a whole, I'm sure they're not as desireable. Many are married. There is actually almost as much flirting as here (almost all groups of people except religious types are sluts now). Snorkeling - you have the a snorkel and your gf, ummmm....uses it!
  9. Did you ask them what about the weather made it bad? they talked to my cousin she handnt called them back yet Call them and ask them why the weather is bad, and why it would prevent you from jumping. (Specifically winds, rain, etc..) i checked the weather its 80 partly cloudy wind is at 9 mph its san diego,ca Have they given you the directions, name and ph# of the Dropzone in San Diego? If yes, then: 1) Call the Dropzone and ask if they take the Skyride certificates 2) Ask the Dropzone if they are jumping today or if weather is preventing jumping
  10. Oh come on...........a little Vics Vapo rub in the nostrils, a blindfold, and a snorkel it'll be all good! On this other message board I hang out on (with a bunch financial/mathematical geeks - actuaries), the established euphemism for oral sex is...SNORKELING!
  11. To address the thread title more, this would fall under Products Liability Insurance, or to be more general, a Commercial General Liability policy (under the respective coverage). Call up your local insurance agent that sells Commercial General Liability policies if you're interested. And do the attorney thing too.
  12. Can't read? "The C-7A could accommodate up to 32 passengers, 26 fully-equipped paratroops, 20 litter patients, or an 8,740 pound cargo load."

    This...episode...rocked!!!
  15. So THAT's why it took me three hours to get that
  16. Just curious as to what it is like - pro/con. The impression I've so far is (besides it possibly being dangerous): What's the point? Jump something more to your ability/WL preference. I think others have asked this as well (or similar). For example, before I owned my current Sabre 150, I jumped a Nitron 170 that I rented at a boogie while in the 30-40 jump number range. I think I stood up 3 out of 4 of my landings and didn't think much of the canopy except that it was "nice". Was told later than it was more of a HP canopy that a Sabre/Spectre. My WL on a 170 is only around .9 though.
  17. Again, Nitro = Nitron but different name to different market? I thought someone mentioned this before.
  18. Yes, I think the general perception is that the semi-elliptical canopies are the "well behaved" tapered canopies while the fully elliptical canopies are the nylon version of a fighter jet. IIRC, at least the Safire2 is marketed as fully elliptical. I can't be sure at the moment about the Sabre2 or the Pilot. Take the terminology with a grain of salt. I'm just trying to figure out what the terminology is supposed to mean. Are you sure you don't mean the Crossfire2? I wouldn't think the Safire2 would be considered in the same class as the Pilot or Sabre2 if it is indeed considered fully elliptical.
  19. I have a math degree, so I was rather sure that at least a or most "Fully-Elliptical" canopies really were not. So, do I assume correctly that at least industry speak, "tapered" = "semi-elliptical" (e.g. Sabre2, Pilot, Safire2) and "fully elliptical" would be a Stiletto/Katana/Mamba/Crossfire 2?
  20. Ahh, thank you. I'm guessing this could be why the Pilot of the same size I jumped seemed to have a little sharper turns than my old Sabre (although I prefered my Sabre's steeper glide).
  21. Thanks so far...some examples? I think someone here has mentioned that the Sabre 1 is completely "square", while the Sabre 2 is "tapered" or "semi-elliptical".
  22. So what is the difference is the difference in generalities along with some canopy examples. I think I can figure most out, but it would be nice to have something from you more experienced types. Thanks. make it a sticky?
