  1. My female, Tahini, is a B & W cat like that. Both she and the male (Falafel - a chubby orange tabby) are inside cats though. They only get out on accident and the will come back within an hour if they get out.
  2. Buy me one and then we can go play.
  3. Its a shame most smaller dropzones can't afford to pay for billboards. To be more specific, I think it was actually a shared billboard. IIRC, it was divided into thirds and the DZ had a one of the three sections.
  4. I worked harder than anybody else this weekend. And I had a kick ass time doing it. My thanks to EVERYBODY who showed up!! You made it worth all the stress, effort and expense. 40 registered jumpers managed 15 loads on the 206 (not bad considering the two airport shutdowns on Saturday) 5 loads in the Caravan, ate 40 pounds of tri-tip and 200+ jello shots, and drank a keg of beer (and a shit load of cocktails - thanks for the daquiris, Monkeyboy!). No injuries, nobody swooped the pond, nobody whined or complained about the slower pace (at least not to me )... A big "Woo Woo" to Dave Hughes from Skydive Santa Barbara for the aircraft support. Having the Caravan on Sunday was awesome. Give us a year or two to forget about the stress and expense and maybe we'll do it again. Why I said most.
  5. Well, I'm NOT a slacker and I bet I worked harder than most of you this weekend and I think YOU guys really missed too from what I was doing. I'm glad everything worked out after all. Btw, when did the Caravan end up arriving and how long did it stay?
  6. Good point. The tandem mill that I did AFF and a bunch of my first 50 jumps at actually had a billboard on US-101 with their ph# for a while. I'm pretty sure it helped business.
  7. Maybe you should just flip a coin. Really. If you want a really big dropzone, obviously go to Perris. If you want big-ish but no really big, then probably Elsinore. Disclaimer: I've never been to either, but plan to eventually got to both.
  8. Ummm....no, you LOOK like a sexy young chick in that photo! Remember, Madonna just got signed on for Gap or something recently - you're not old!
  9. I will freely admit that I am absolutely AWFUL at being a vegan. I just keep engaging in carnivorous behaviors. It's like I'm not even TRYING! My foster mom (have a somewhat complicated family situation - 3 moms and 2 dads - not with each other of course. One pair in NorCal, the other in SoCal and the 3rd mom neat the SoCal pair) will eat some occasional dairy (butter, eggs or milk/cream cooked into things) and honey (vegans don't want to be mean to the bees). But she'll cook meat for dad and others. She doesn't do any animals at all - no seafood, poultry, etc.
  10. I make a "poor-man's mocha" sometimes. Get a pouch of hot chocolate (you know, the powder), put in a cup, fill with coffee, stir and enjoy.
  11. I think 60 so far this year and maybe 42 same time last year. I did 14 in December last year, 9 at the Eloy Holiday Boogie.
  12. Sorry for the age inflation, but I thought you implied it earlier...so you've been skydiving since 16...math adds up now. I just made the connection now between you and the John Mitchell poster now....[insert dunce smiley] (Sangiro - we need the comprehensive smiley list)
  13. Valinda, You have to be one of the hottest 40-something mothers of 4 on the planet. You had to PAY 300 extra to Velocity to have that embroidery?!? THEY SHOULD HAVE PAID YOU! That first pic should be in a magazine....actually a modelling magazine...maybe like Cosmo or Elle. DAMN, it is sexy! Unless you have a scary personality, I hope your husband feels like one of the luckiest guys on the planet and your kids think you're the coolest mom ever.
  14. I think you're overanalyzing almost everything. Just RELAX. When you are relaxed, you can actually think fast to fix the things that may be wrong in freefall. RELAX!
  15. As the slut monkey said.... You'll probably be gone, but the Byron Boogie 10/13-15. I may be at Byron 8/7 or 8/8 though too.
  16. Sean seems like packing. (quietly runs away) I hate you all. Too bad I can't be in two places at once. Have fun anyways and I'll see you at the Byron Boogie if not earlier.
  17. Yeah! Go down there and edgumucate those Mexicans! Thanks for the proper tequila treatment. I KNOW that I'm welcome to drink it sans salt/lime/whatever, but I just had to know WTF this tomato juice thing came from!
  18. When I did my first tandem (I did two before starting AFF) 4 years ago, my "friends" and I (coworkers - more acquaintenances) were given our own altimeters on our wrist (big student kind) and given the option to deploy the main ourselves. I think we were given about a 500-1000 ft window (from 5-6K) and did practice touches in freefall. At the time, it made us feel cool - "we saved out lives". I know that other places don't even give the option.
  19. I can't believe there are no more responses to this. Where's Vinny???????
  20. couple of weeks ago...actually have 187 jumps
