  1. Yeah, grue! Hurry the f*ck up! (No, I really appreciate this. I'll take whatever video scraps I can get).
  2. By your post time, I knew it a few hours ago! And I saw it too! 'Shell Sorry - didn't complete my message properly. I knew the answer Sunday MORNING. ....and not because I saw it on TV - I don't have cable and I don't think the non-existent antenna works either.
  3. 1. Not knowing someone who has died from a canopy collision does not mean me or any others are necessarily complacent or unaware...but as everyone else, should not be lulled into a false sense of security either. 2. I DO review the list of fatalities in Parachutist everymonth and sometimes on here as well. 3. So are you saying then that having more canopies in the air is the exact same risk? Sorry, but I don't buy it. It is simple probability that an accident is more likely to happen on a bigger DZ due to more traffic. Again though, see 1 above. But, I think we are possibly talking past each other, so I will leave it at that.
  4. I know what place it got...through my secret source...I'm not telling though. But I haven't seen it yet, so I'm waiting for grue to upload it too.

    I <3 Espresso

I'm going to try making some Greek Coffee tomorrow morning with...uhhh...Italian equipment - one of those frothing pitchers for the milk. It's a little big, but I think it can work. I'll let you know.
  6. You're just jealous of the nice close shave I got.
  7. What he said. Can I come too? I like beef too. It tastes yummy. An uncle of mine brought some home grown bacon to the cabin once. I think it used to be named Christy or some normal female name.
  8. ...and it was FREE in the mail! It has five blades and it gave me a nice close shave.
  9. Well, yeah! But I need the crowd here to tell me if I should feel guilty!
  10. Should I feel guilty for not taking 1 hour+ to fill out 50 pages worth of surveys and just keeping the $10 dollar bill? I don't want to waste that much time answering some survey that I know will not help them. They called a couple of days ago and I answered 'No' to almost everything. It was about media usage and since I don't have cable and thus don't watch TV nor listen to the radio that often or subscribe to any newspapers, I said no. They still sent me a bunch of crap to fill out but included a ten dollar bill. I think they said they were the Scarborough company or something.
  11. ...and your point is? Either you accept the risk involved and the consequences or you don't.
  12. He is one of the best still-videographers in the world and one of the world's best canopy pilots...and he fly's for Team Evolution....or that's what the Parabatix video I have tells me. I'm sure he's good, but as the monkey said, try contacting him and asking him.
  13. OK. From the beginning, GREAT ARTICLE!
  14. And for movies... Apocalypse Now
  15. But you're not 2.25 times less likely to die if you get into a canopy collision after exiting with three other people than if you exit with 10 other people, are you? The prof has a very valid point. It doesn't matter how many other people are in the air with you. Controlling your pattern can help you avoid a canopy collision. I'm not saying otherwise - I'm saying that there are less bodies in the air to worry about and as Lindsey said, a large airport (implying large landing area) as well. Maybe kallend should warned about not being lulled into a false sense of security as opposed to blatantly accusing her.
  16. You have a false sense of security. We had a double fatality on October 6th, 2001 from a canopy collision when only 11 jumpers were in the air at a DZ with a 200 acre grass landing area. No-one thought traffic was an issue there, either. Possibly, but 11 jumpers is still 2.25 x as many as 4 (from a 182).
  17. Yes, but as they say, better to be on the ground wishing you were in the sky then the other way around. Recently on a 4-way, I kinda lost altitude awareness, trying to continue to dock at breakoff. The experienced person I tried to dock on shook my grip off and then I saw the 4K on my alti and tracked away like the others. The experienced guy thought no big deal, but I felt like a fool. I shoulda been aware.
  18. Does every ZP canopy has low-cfm ribs? No. 95% of ZP canopies are ZP ONLY. BTW, do F-111 ribs make the packing easier (letting you "squeeze" the air more easily)? Considering that many people have bitched about the difficulty of packing a new Pilot, I would guess it is a non-factor.
  19. Several non US based DZ are USPA members. That probably wont impress the local authorities tho. I stand corrected - partially. I fail to see how the USPA could have any sway with foreign aviation though.
  20. What Stumpy says... I have this, Ad-Aware and Spybot and have never had a problem.
  21. Why would they be USPA - THEY'RE IN SPAIN. Talk to the Spanish version of the FAA.
  22. Hey Rosa, (Yeah I know we've never met - I don't get to travel much), but do you know if you're asian counterpart is still around? Have any idea if she plans to pop over to Eloy during the Holiday Boogie for a couple of days like last year...or if you will?
