Are Gas Prices Affecting Your Jumping Activities?
Elisha replied to linc_harris's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Just paid 2.679 for 87 at Costco. -
I haven't got my copy of September yet, either.. I wonder if I'm in it for getting my licence? Anyone wanna tell me? :) Yeah, I should be too.

I think you have to have both a) S-links (soft links from the risers to your lines) and b) mini-risers. It may also depend on the size of the slider grommets.

Nope, no air rage...the ground got mad at me instead.

I'm going to pass on that ambiguous comment.

(Back to serious mode) Since I'm still a relative newb, I'll assume that's a yes.

Well now then, I hate you just like everyone else who has a new rig and I don't.

To be blunt, I completely agree with the above assesment (however vague it is). Oh, and hello Iwan and ChopChop too!

My regular Tony suit that I got last year was like 3 weeks as well. I was very surprised.

Are you guys saying that the September issue has already arrived? I just got the August issue in the mail a week ago!

I downwinded and crashed my last jump on Saturday...had a small bruise at the bottom of my palm and what feels like a splinter in my ring finger. Then, while stretching in the chair of my desk, I pull a muscle in my mid back on the right side.

Iwan, Would the pic just after (clicking on next) be a horny gorilla?

Update on my cutaway cables: I made a pre-Boogie visit to Byron this weekend. Master rigger Clay looked at my cables, and although the non-cutaway side is short, there is no danger of the cable coming through the "550" (why is the loop named that?). Therefore, my rig is perfectly flyable. Since it is in soft housings all the way and dips down in the reserve area, there is actually plenty of length if I were to switch to hard housings (i.e. route the cable straight across instead of wasting a few inches dipping down). And I as I guessed, he did say that doing this at the next reserve repack would be a good time. Thanks for the concern everyone, but no worries. Excellent! Am I reading that you will have the modification done to go to hard housings (highly recommended) at your next re-pack? Glad you had a rigger take a look; better safe than to show up in a differnt section of this forum! I would say that I'm highly considering it. Even though all this reading of people getting new rigs 'n stuff is making me extremely envious and wanting new myself, there are a number of mods I'd like to do to my rig in the near term, probably at the repack. I think I can resist the financially irresponsible decision of buying new at the moment - as if skydiving itself isn't financially irresponsible enough as it is.

Most of the EU countries don't bother to stamp and act if it is an annoyance if you ask them to stamp your passport. They just give a glance and that's it...or that's how it was back in 98 and 99.

Similar to the Rookie, don't really know - maybe there isn't a "black sheep". Except for skydiving and imbibing more alchohol than I should in social situations (well, more than I should, even if it is way less than others), I'm the most like my Dad in how conservative I am in social/political/religious views.

Btw, how much is a Skydiving mag subscription? Thanks.

Had a great pre-Boogie visit to Byron on Saturday! Thank you to all you Byron folk - it was great meeting you and can't wait until my next visit. I want to especially thank: TallGuy and Cornholio - for greeting me as I arrived (even though Cornholio thought I was someone else at first). Clay - for issuing a master rigger opinion on my cutaway handle and deeming it safe. GravityGirl - for being nice, fixing the little bulge in my brake line and volunteering Aaron's nice new rig for me to demo. Dennis, Dave, Mad John and the other guy (sorry I forgot your name - for the 3 & 4-ways. Fun jumps! Aaron - for letting me demo your rig. Sure you don't want to trade? Christa - for remembering me, letting me attempt to track with you guys, and helping me with my stows. ...and everyone else who I may have forgotten. Look forward to my next visit.

You don't weigh THAT much! I think you're overinflating your WL.

Are there any con's to having colour coded lines?
Elisha replied to Newbie's topic in Gear and Rigging
Con: people may make fun of you for "needing" them to help you sort your line. (I'd be wiling to take that risk though - people have made fun of me all my life.) -
Extra weight to help my arch while doing RW?
