  1. Not necessarily. Some (like mine) never really care about it.
  2. Then I might finally get to meet you! I'm guessing I'll be there around 2ish to 3 (driving down from Redding area) and will do 2 jumps.
  3. Unless I have him mixed up (I don't know him - just have heard about him from others), I saw his Spectre at Skydive Santa Barbara a couple of months ago. I think the DZO got it from his widow. We had a little guessing game of how out of date the reserve was - 14 months pior to July-ish05.

Oh, she's only big with respect to her flying skills. Otherwise she's one svelt girly.
  5. Well, my question was answered! I'll probably still stop by though.
  6. Ya think? We're just a whiney bunch... 1. No way. Never. (unless I was really rich and I'm not). 1a. Yes, it is fun to whine. I think I've already stated it.
  7. I'll take it - I've never actually tried to balance my check book. But I always check online to see when things have cleared. But my point stands....I gave you the money!
  8. There, there. I hope they at least give you Holiday pay or whatever.
  9. I like that. I may even want to try that with my Sabre (getting the thing neatly into the bag is one of my weak points). Sounds kinda like a modified psycho pack.
  10. Ask any lifeguard what te greatest danger to their safety is when making a save. It isn't sharks or jellyfish or the action of the waves or riptides. It is the person being saved who risks killing the lifeguard by panicking and bringing the lifeguard down. ...and isn't this likewise with Tandem Instructors?
  11. Thanks. All I was looking for. Feeble, Chill man.
  12. I just want to know what to expect. If I was planning on paying the advertised $15 and then I see $23, then I may choose not to jump. I'm more asking the experienced ones here what to expect.
  13. Dude I totally agree with you.. but you can also read from CSpence's post what having extra lift capacity costs and the risks involved.. What if the winds are up? What if it rains? What if What if.. A boogie is always a big risk to a dropzone from a financial standpoint. A couple years ago we had 2 otters and a Skyvan just sitting there, cause the weather was bad... they still need to be paid for, and the only way they get paid for is when people jump them.. If the loads are all backed up like what you're afraid is gonna happen.. they will go out of their way to get more lift capacity... Just come on out, plan on jumping a lot... and have a good time

Yeah, that's what GG did. Multiple times. And was proud of it. But she still rocks!
  15. And it would be even better if everybody that pre-registered so far, sent in all the paperwork / money Is it boogietime yet? ...and it would be helpful to those of us who HAVE sent in paperwork/money for our checks to cashed so we can update our financial records.
  16. And what's even more amazing then that to me is all the protesting the left makes about drilling there, while the state involved (Alaska) WANTS it to happen and thinks they can do it w/o major effects to the area.
  17. Good. It's about time someone did the daily bump of this thread.

Sorry, I can't NOT say this any longer. I don't think I farted even once on any of my 5 jumps last Saturday, while GravityGirl farted around 3x in one jump run!
  19. How much would you pay? Well, sorry folks for the ever so slight tangent. Can you answer my original question though? Assume they DO have Jet-A, but it goes up a lot? Is it likely for them to substantially raise jump ticket prices in the meantime even if they had already advertised something different?
