  1. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!! Do not use the word "Hottie" unless you are describing a female. You can use the terms "Male Hottie" or "Hottie NSFM", but not "Hottie" by itself. I just spent 15 minutes reading the whole thread thinking you meant "Hottie". I concur. I don't like to be mislead either.
  2. Iwan, I (stupidly) fell for a Phishing attempt earlier this week and just canceled my VISA and I'm not sure if they replacement/new number card will arrive in time. Do they accept Amex at Byron? I probably could (as in have enough money) to use my Debit card as it has the VISA symbol, but prefer to use my credit card. Thanks.
  3. Well, that's what the DZO told me, and it seemed to make sense. My fault I switched line groups with front/back. With my 1:1 loaded Sabre, it didn't really affect my flight characteristics - the front/back just crossed each other. Besides, I don't have an RSL on my rig.
  4. Wait, you're Russian? Russians no drink beer, they drink vodka! Is outrage.
  5. If you're changing canopies, then yup, the only safe way would be to completely repack and run the lines. If you are just changing risers on the same main, you can get away with leaving it in the bag if you are VERY careful about keeping your line groups and riser sides (front/back) straight. I accidentally switched front/back on my left riser once, so obviously not fool proof. Be careful, and if you're in doubt that you did it right, take the extra time to repack and run the lines.
  6. Do it, man! Do it! I took off about 9 months from Jump #35, but that was mainly due to job/$$ issues. Now that I have my own rig and jumping is cheaper, my jumping desire has come back with a vengeance! I agree that I don't have that, "Wow! I jumped out of a plane! " excitement anymore, but it comes from executing things well, like a 3 or 4-way.
  7. Unfortunately I actually have some work to do today and need to limit my activity.
  8. The pack said it "feels" like it has around a thousand or so jumps on it. Obviously just a guesstimate, I guess an edgumacated one. My Sabre 150 DOM is 3/91. Not a youngin', but again, works fine for me - especially for a first canopy.
  9. I saw a Rig from a German guy last weekend with "Plan B" on his cutaway handle.
  10. Ooooh. Which one? Not Bonny Doone is it?
  11. Thanks. Skybytch, So which one was at AB 2005?
  12. I bought a used rig from my (former) home DZO. It is an old Sabre 150 and seems to fly fine to me (as far as I, with low experience can tell). A packer told me around 20 or so jumps ago that it "feels like it has around 1000 jumps or so on it." OK. That would make it easier to pack and I suck at packing, so cool. I've heard stories of people saying that they put several thousand on their Sabre. It was the original. Yada yada. So, a few questions: 1) How many jumps can these ZP canopies handle? 2) What is the most jumps anyone knows of that someone (well, all historical owners) have put on a single canopy? 3) Can you really tell whether or not a canopy has 1000 jumps vs 5000 jumps?
  13. Hmmm...maybe I should just spend a few minutes to back through my log book over the past 10 or so jumps, add some more detail (I'm not that detailed), and actually sign it since I do have an 'A' License....and then I'm already 'B' qualified!
  14. Nice pic. I have a lot of friends in the Santa Cruz area (Felton, Ben Lomond, etc) that I rarely visit, but see elsewhere. I'd like to possibly hang out at the DZ from late morning to mid afternoon before going back to the 'Cruz area. I'll ya in mind (you know, post whore a thread here or whatever).
  15. OK guys, I know I can just go read the SIM (and yes, I'll get around to actually printing the 'B' sections and reading them sometime soon), but how do you record the things like "10 landings within 10 meters (or 30 or whatever it is) of target" and "do two 360's, two back loops, blah blah". If it is only 50 jumps for a 'B' and Water training as well, I have those two covered already.
  16. Tailgates are fun too, but they aren't my favorite. And why? Me thinks you might just be some propaganda plant for Ray. It may have just been that a) I was disappointed to be bumped and b) hangover effects from the night before started to kick in, but.....at the American Boogie, my first jump of the day was from the CASA. It seemed to climb nice and fast. Next jump, one of the engines didn't want to start and we got bumped to the Otter (from the CASA). I felt that I had to try and not bump the person on my left (from falling into them), I suddenly felt nauseous and that plane seemed to climb only barely faster than a 182. That Otter seemed slow as hell compared to the CASA.
  17. Hi there, did I tell you how much I LOVE YOU.... You are my new bestest friend in the whole wide world That's some good shit there girl!!!! I'm so excited. g You guys are starting to scare me. Maybe I should bow out in order to not be corrupted too badly..... ....or maybe I should just brave it.
  18. When is the best time to visit Monterey? I'm thinking weekend and sometime in the Fall/spring/not the heart of winter (but it isn't out of the question). I hear the ocean views are nice and the fog stays away in the winter.
  19. Your wine comes in cans? Nah, she's just marking up her Charles Shaw for a %100 profit. Trollin', Trollin', Trollin'.
  20. ...and use them to create ficticious DZ websites. Or not.
  21. What about if enough want to join to turn it into a Class Action suit?
  22. Vlad, Do your best. I'm sure you will be able to communicate well enough with some effort and patience. There is nothing lost by just trying.
  23. And I was responding to the statement of a CYPRES being a "high dollar item".
