Most of you probably know, Adobe will not longer be making video products for Mac (as of now they will still make their other stuff like Photoshop...). So what does that mean to those of us who use Premier because we want more than iMovie can do, but dont want to shell out $1K for Final Cut Pro? the olympus e-20 (or e-10 for less$) take great pictures, but are slow to clear the buffer (that is painfully small) and has an anoying delay from pressing the button to actually taking the picture (about 1.5 sec)... however, because of this. the auto focus works great with these camera Josh All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

I waited tables in my youth... I tend to tip about 15% for average service, 20% or more for above average... If I get bad service, that is the server's fault (not the kitchen's), I either don't tip or will leave a few pennies on the table (and note why on the receipt - no tip for bad service-)... I will tip others, pizza guy, movers, etc, but not the UPS or FEDEX guy. As for the mailman... maybe when I stop getting mail from 2 streets over, I'll think about it... and my trash hualers... their overpaid in the first place, and they leave all the trashcans strewn about the street, so no, not them. My preferred altitude is 4-5K... my lowest was 2k (if I stood on top of the plane, on my tippy toes, but I did not want to do that because of all the moisture right around tail level, read just under a cloud)... this of cours does not count military jumps, which are lower (~1K or below). Is there an abundance of camera folks at your DZ? You left out the profit that is already built in to the $15 for the slot... camera folks are getting screwed at your DZ... factor in $5 for a pack job, $5 for the edit (about the going rate), $3 for gear maintenance, $3 for camera upkeep, $1 for VHS, $3 for film and DV... cameraflyers profit = $0 Josh All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

since the image sensor and mount are the same on the 60 and the 10... the 15 works great on the 60... no vingetting at all, unless you leave the lens cap barrel on (which is the only way to put a prtective filter)... biggest thing to watch for is the lack of protection for the lens... like i said, the only way to put a UV filter on it is to leave the barrel on. If you want to use other filters for an effect, etc, you need to use gel type filters that mount at the back of the lens (the part that goes inside the camera body). Refund... depends on their reaction... if they are happy with it then no... if they are not happy with it, offer alternatives... video their second jump for f**e (I find it hard to type that word let alone say it)... giving the money back is the last resort... but if you feel it is the right thing to do, then... Equipment failure happens, suits, cameras, yada, yada... its how quickly we recognize it and how we respond that makes the difference... now for the learning for your mishap... what kind of suit do you jump? What is the cord made of? Is there anything you could check for before hand? Since it broke on climbout, and you recognized it, was there anything you could have done differently in the jump? I use this lens on my D60... and have had some very nice results... there is some Fisheye effect, but not as much as if it were on a traditional film camera. OK, so PD has a new ad in Parachutist... "designed to slice up the competition." What is the buzz on what and when they will release? If I remember corrently, they did a similar campaign with the Velocity... baiting the market... A little tickler, then a name, then the info, spread over several month before the actual release... I've heard rumblings about new materials vs. new design, but nothing concrete, and based on the tag line it might suggest high performance market segment. Anyone? Don't worry, I've only been published in Parachutist and Skydiving, and they don't print those pictures... and I don't put them on my site either... although I could make an exception for the right shot.
