It may not have mentioned volenteering specifically, but it did not hide the fact that she was pro-Bush... From the linked story... J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

Did you look at the picture in question? Lot's of political message in that one... not. J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

Sad... Like it or not, the Bush is the current President, and there is no reason to not include his picture with past presidents... and there is certainly no reason to add Kerry's picture (and hopefully there won't be any time soon)... If anyone is diciplined, it should be the principal and vice principal. J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

The government spends a lot of money of programs that do not consume goods or services... wellfare comes to mind... J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

Short term rates, yes. Long term rates are not tied directly to acting by the FED... How exactly are the 900K jobs that you point to tied to a Bush action or policy? J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

You are absolutely right... And I can best determine how best to spend my money. Not necessarily... more people spending money for themselves means more goods and services are consumed, and therefore more are produced... which means more people are employed (and on the tax roles)... so the government takes less from each person, but from more people... more tax revenue. The news media is a business... while it shoud be controled by internal standards, its not... Given that, it needs to be controled by the market... news is no longer about unbiased reporting, it is about viewership, or readership... The only control the government, or government officials have is by choosing whom, or what questions they respond to... To answer your general question... Yes... My income is up over 15%, I bought a house, and my investments are up over 30%... not to mention I still have money for jumps... Edit to add... Oh yeah, and my taxes are lower, so I have more money to spend, which helps boost the economy. J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

Small digital camera with remote shutter release?

To add to Jimmy's comment on the V1... the September Parachutust cover shot was taken with a V1 J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke -
The rules that were aggreed to said no cut away shots while the other was talking... just about everyone used split screens, which technically did not break the rule, just the intent of the rule. J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

I thought Kerry did pretty well... there were some that thought the knock out puch would come last night, and it did not. In that way Kerry won... I think both guys solidified their base, but don't think it will move too many undecideds (not based on this debate alone anyway). I was disappointed with Bush's delivery, he looked tierd and preterbed through much of the later part of the debate... he would have done better if it was called at halftime. He also missed the opportunity to illustrate Kerry's inconsistant record, not just on Iraq, but on military and intelligence issues in general... instead opting for the tag lines. On the whole, if they had gone in with equal expectations it would have been a draw... In that Kerry did not lose, he won... what he can do to capitalize on that remains to be seen. J PS... I would expect the Kerry camp to be putting out video of Bush's facial expressions today... J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

And Kerry has only lost states to the toss-up category in the last 3 weeks... To the observation of the Registered Voter polling numbers vs. Likey Voters... LV numbers are generally considered to be more reliable than RV numbers... It is still a tight race in sveral states, and there are enough toss-up states to take it either way... All depends on who wins the House and Senate... I doubt I'll leave the country... but if Kerry wins, along with the Congress... I'll be buying some guns before the New and improved AWB comes around. J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

I unerstand that... How do you get the footage to your computer? What software are you using to edit? If you are using some sort of firewire hookup to go from camera to computer, then you do the same in reverse, just hook your AV cables to your camera and VCR durning the Output... your camera will act as a converter / thruput device. If you are not using firewire, does your computer have a PCMIA card slot? You can get a firewire card for relatively cheap... I have not seen a USB/RCA cord, and unless you are using USB-2 you may not have the x-fer speed you need to get full quality video. Last time I went, you plugged your camera in to their setup and they judged it live while they taped it... bring your own AV cable, just in case what they have is different... J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

Yet it seems he is able to communicate his message a little better (maybe alot better) than Kerry, hmmm... J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

He looks like he got two #2's... if you saw the Friends episode, you'll know what I mean... J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

What does that say about his adversaries in the primaries? A prime opportunity to beat a vunerable President too... J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

You seemed to explain his different votes in an easy enough manner, that almost anyone can understand, even me... I wonder why Kerry can't explain himself in such a way? J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

Is he ever going to show up for his present job?
jdhill replied to turtlespeed's topic in Speakers Corner
One difference... the President has a mobile office that he travels in... AF1... he also does not need to be in the WH to do his job... its kinda hard to vote when you are not in the Senate chambers... Not that I really care that two of the most liberal voters (when they bother) in the Senate have been absent lately J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke -
Not entirely true.. a large portion of the money was for infastructure, but there was money for the military too... J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

Real or adjusted dollars? Got a link? But that is not what he has said he would spend it on... schools and health care is what he has said... how would he pay for these things without deficit spending or rasing taxes? J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

Good for you, most people don't... Would Kerry spend the $200B from Iraq on other things, like he says in his speeches? Or would he not spend it, i.e not deficit spend? Or, would he be raising taxes? J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
