  1. We need to get you to Egypt ASAP. Sounds like you've figured this out. We are all engines of karma
  2. I rarely watch TV, and most certainly don't watch news on TV. FYI, We are all engines of karma
  3. I'm not banned! YEAH! Thank you.
  4. quade, not sure how to say this nicely, and I may get banned, but get your head out of your a-- on this one. The EPA is completely and utterly out of control. Good thing you live in southern California, because when they finish shutting down the coal industry, you won't be cold in the winter. We are all engines of karma
  5. The EPA has absolutely gone out of control. It is ludicrous what they are doing, and they must be bought to heel. I watched the confirmation hearing of the new EPA head. I was utterly appalled by what I saw. This is broken, and broken badly. We are all engines of karma
  6. The answer I've heard consistently quoted is 0.0004, weight fraction. Even if it is 0.0006, it's still pretty small. Yes, I understand about forcing and it's power, but still, this is a really small number. Yes. The answer I expect to hear is about 60 degF. Our species wouldn't be on this planet without that. While I fully agree that we shouldn't keep pumping large amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere, at this point in time I have come to view the Al Gores of this world as hucksters. Even if CO2 is doubled to 0.0008 and the earth's avg temp rises by 2 degF (over the next 100 years), this is not going to kill us off. It might even be a good thing. Nothing being advocated/forced onto developed countries by these folks is going to make one bit of difference in practical terms to this problem. It looks more and more like a power play in my perspective. All that will change is government will have more power over our lives, and take more money from us. The only practical solution in the near to mid term is nuclear, and there are no Al Gore types even remotely advocating this. If folks were really concerned, we'd be on this path, IMO. If anything is being denied in my post, it's the solutions (rather lack of meaningful solutions) being advocated by alarmists. We are all engines of karma

  10. Wonderful!!! Real science in action. ROFLMAO! We are all engines of karma
  11. Wendy, we're not really talking about advocating here. We are talking about science. Three questions for you: 1) What is the weight fraction of CO2 in the atmosphere, at present? 2) What is the dominant green house gas? 3) How much green house warming is due to this dominant green house gas? Answer those for me, then will continue from there. We are all engines of karma
  12. For the sake of clear communication, and a meaningful discussion, what is being denied here, in the context of AGW? We are all engines of karma
  13. I'm not saying you might not have a point, but this thread is about global warming. Do you feel tobacco, doctors and AGW are connected in any meaningful way? If not, please keep a focus here. Thanks. We are all engines of karma
  14. Are you saying that second hand smoke has something significant to do with AGW? Just double checking here... We are all engines of karma
  15. And, you voted for Obama? Just curious... We are all engines of karma

  17. Really? I thought they were pretty well respected, but then again, I don't work in psychology... We are all engines of karma
  18. Most of the "blue collar" guys I know in this area are very competent, and do quite well for themselves. The TZB job is huge, and a competent guy can expect to make a lot of contacts in this area. For the right person, it would be a good gig. We are all engines of karma
  19. Meh... If you're interested in a widely accepted personality test, check out Myers-Briggs. You can take the short test here: http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp Descriptions of the 16 types can be found here: http://www.humanmetrics.com/hr/you/personalitytype.aspx We are all engines of karma
  20. Since our federal politicians are sworn to uphold the Constitution, it does make sense they should be tested somewhere along the line before being elected. Be that through responsible journalist, or else where, isn't clear to me. We are all engines of karma
