  1. Specious is the operative word, IMO. We are all engines of karma
  2. It struck me that he was in on the Vegas scene while it was still building. He clearly is not afraid to use his power. Apparently nothing moves politically in Nevada without his say so. We are all engines of karma
  3. Every law should be like this, IMO. We are all engines of karma
  4. Came across this article today. I thought it was very good, and gave me insight into a powerful politician that I personally don't care for. Incredibly partisan man, IMO, but also one with chops who is not afraid to use his power. Article is a bit long, but well worth the read. Harry Reid's Long, Steady Accretion of Power & Wealth There are many things that could be pointed out in the article, but here are a few selected ones. Reid is a tough guy, who has been in politics at a high level for a long time. The end of the article goes into numerous land deals that Reid has made that have made him a millionaire many times over. Seems to me that being an active lawyer for significant portions of his career gave him contacts and insight others may not have. Yes, looks like there was an appearance problem here, and maybe more, also. Either way, I'm taking from this article that Reid is one tough and savvy man. We are all engines of karma
  5. Yep... I worked with a discretionary money management firm for a while (i.e., you gave them money, they made the trades without first asking your permission). These guys are very, very good. As part of their due diligence, they run extensive background checks on every officer in the company. After understanding the business model, they then visit said officers for a face-to-face chat. The would do one of two things after those visits. Go long, or go short. More often, they would go short
  6. That's pretty good stuff... We are all engines of karma
  7. Be careful with that. FDA denials happen frequently, even late in the game. We are all engines of karma
  8. +1, and not only the BLM, it's this entire administration (...e.g., EPA). Uhm, you have a point without a doubt, but there is definitely something more going on here... It's reaching a point where people are asking what recourse is available. And, apparently, there isn't much. We are all engines of karma
  9. ROFLMAO!!! We are all engines of karma
  10. +1 Jeez, we're actually trying to bring this forum back to what it once was. People coming here to learn something? Almost frightening... We are all engines of karma
  11. How do you measure that? Just curious... We are all engines of karma
  12. Excellent post. +1 We are all engines of karma
  13. A simple question for you - are you here to discuss, debate, and hopefully learn something? Or, are you here to spew this kind of crap? Simple question, just curious... We are all engines of karma
  14. Ok, I'll take that as an acceptable foray into semantics. We are all engines of karma
  15. He hasn't paid his tax bill... Am I missing something here? We are all engines of karma
  16. I looked through several articles that popped up with that google expression. I did not find any saying Al has paid his tax bill. The one article I found (dated 22-Feb-2013), Sharpton: Hardest Working Man In Show Business?, has the following quote at the bottom of the article: So, unless you have a more specific source, I'm beginning to conclude that he hasn't paid his tax bill. 17. No, it wasn't LEO. His supporters, at his agitation, hurt folks that weren't armed. [url http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crown_Heights_Riot]Crown Heights riot We are all engines of karma
  18. I'm still waiting on kelpdiver's help sharing his cursory review of this. I personally haven't been able to find anything, yet. I do find it interesting that the IRS would allow someone who works for a non-profit to make payments on a near $2MM dollar debt, and still have the president show up for dinner... 19. My take on this is a bit beyond the immediate issue being discussed. IMO, this is yet another unbridled attempt by the current administration to exert power. The folks currently in power in Washington seem to think they are best prepared to live all of our lives. I have never seen such blatant abuse in my life. From government statistics, to the EPA, to the "Justice" department's decisions, and now to the BLM, and more. The list has become endless. Everyday seems to be another crisis that deflects from this administration's failures. Even worse, IMO, is that the current Washington folks aren't really the problem. It's reached the point where I see the problem as being those people who continue to vote to keep them in power. It is simply unsustainable. We are all engines of karma
  20. Please don't tell me that is your source... You strike me as a thoughtful person. Please, don't tell me that is your source. We are all engines of karma
  21. It wasn't my attempt. Sources? Seriously, I would appreciate seeing those. Thanks. We are all engines of karma
  22. kallend, as we've discussed many times in this forum already, you have clearly proven that you are not worth my time or effort. For such a "successful professor", I have yet to learn anything from you. All you have done in any discussion I've had with you is heap abuse and PAs, and the moderators allow you to do that to not only me, but many others here. Not only do you do this in this forum, but you have the same reputation in other forums (such as aircraft pilots). Yes, many years ago, I actually took the time to check you out. Don't ever bother replying to another of my posts. I see you as a worthless participant in any thread I'm involved with. This will be the last time I respond to you. We are all engines of karma
  23. I posted the attached jpg file to another thread, also. Just thought it sums up the situation pretty well. We are all engines of karma
