  2. "What's wrong with swimming in Dec? I spent almost 3 hours in the water today, as deep at 120ft.. 72 degrees was perfect.........." Mike O.K. scuba in 70 weather is one thing. swimming in a giant mud puddle in your nice clean white jump suit is another.. not to mention the temp of somewhere between 38-42 little cold.. I wished i lived in Fla where there arent to many of these days. cant wait to jump in florida in Jan.
  3. I have a 7 cell triathalon 190, i love it so for although only 10 jumps on it so far. very responsive, and really cuts into the wind well..So on windy days it really has good forward movement... Although i didnt mind the 9 cell i used while renting aside from the fact that it was a skymaster 230
  4. First load of the day 9:00Am. Not to bad out sunny but probably in the upper 30's to low 40's Exit altitude of 14500ft with a temp of 10. O.k. ~Coach Jumps~

At my DZ. I think almost everyjump turns into a coach jump..I am trying to do a lot of big ways and there is always some one giving me advice helping me out... THey do it just for the love of the sport not to make any money they just want to jump and most of the people helping hae jump #,s into the 1000+range.. I am about to start learning Freeflying and there are people already coming up to me asking to help me out i dont even have to ask them... and there just doing it to jump....
  7. O.k. Say there is nothing left to do but hit the ground would you go on your bellly, head down, stand, or sit .... i personally would want to go head down just to take any chance of suffering away.. at that speed i think death might come suddenly as oposed to lingering on for an hour only to die at the hospital..
  8. I have a Triathalon 190 and it almost always takes around 1200' to open... Alhtough i like it like that it makes for a super soft opening..
  9. "So, do we have anyone else here who is related to a celebrity??" No celeberty in my family but i will be on MTV in Jan. well Kind of.. Breifly.. at least they told me i would be..
  10. "now I am trying to figure out why to get a C. " With a C your allowed to do intentional cutaways.... who the hell wants to do an intentional cutaway though.. wait a minute that sounds kind of fun...
  11. Tomas first half of the day we were on cloud hold but by around 12 or so 4 of us managed to find a hole and jump out a little windy but but at least we jumped the clouds blew away and the wind died after that hopnpop turned out to be a beautiful afternoon...
  12. I will personally jump in any kind of wind other people with more experience will jump in if they think its safe for them i'm definitely not going to miss out on a chance to jump... Anne that first jump today was i wild canopy ride down.. winds shifting like crazy and turbulence all over but it was fun and landing in that high of wind just makes the landing softer..
  13. Took the test today passed with 5 wrong answers hey at least i didnt miss 6 any way signed off for my "b" license only took 71 jumps... Made 3 jumps today a HopNpop in 25 mph winds. and 2 King Air jumps both over 15k one almost hitting 16 sweet... Blue Skies Joe
  14. So now that i dont have to rent gear anymore what are the little things that should be down to keep your rig safe..for use.. like how often to replace the closing loop.. and any other little things that i didnt have to do myself with a rental..that i might not be aware of..thanks joe
  15. I am going to be in Florida in early to mid Jan. and am looking for some helpfull jump recomendations.. Is there any place along the gulf coust to jump during the week. I am driving my younger bro down to Southern FLa. Univ to take a look at the school and would love to get a couple of jumps in a long the we but we will be leaving sat. night form St. Louis getting to around Destin Sun. morning.. then driving down the coast to Tampa. I was thinking Emerald Cost Skydiving and Skydive city @Zhills. anyone know if they are open everyday.. or if they are only open on the weekends. OR any other place along that route.. Any help would be appreciated.. thanks Blue skies Joe
  16. Never saw the show but S R V rocked on the guitar one of the best..
  17. I just bought a Vector 3 for my first rig although i have only jumped it 4 times so far i think its great for RW and Freefly. The risers are coverd completely no way for them to come out during freefall..So far its a perfect rig until im ready to shell out some real money for a custom rig..
  18. I just bougth my first skydiving rig A vector 3 w/ a Triathalon 190. My problem is everyone at the DZ told me different ways to pack it.. Ive only flatpacked before this weekend and thoughtit was very easy and quick to do. Now some people tell me you have to pro pack a triathalon.. is this true.. or can you flat pack a 7 cell Triathalon w/o packing tabs.. Just wandering what you all think because Pro packing confuses the hell out of me especially since 3 different people showed my 3 different ways to propack on my first day learning how.. thanks joe
  19. Well I finally did it.. after being called rip cord king all weekend long last weekend i finally bought a rig.. im still in disbelief.. Actually i dint even get ot take her home i still owe $300 of the $3300 i paid for it .. it should be with me shortly hopefully next weekend. I did get to jump it today.. Oh yeahh.. A VECTOR 3 w/ a Triathalon 190 with a cypress... I told you about it a couple of days ago... so far its awsome.. i never thought openings could be so smooth.. Im use to a dolphin w/ a skymaster 230 ive jumped for the last 60 jumps or so.. This triathalon opened so nice and smooth if my eyes were closed i wouldnt even know i was under canopy. IT moves a lot better than that huge 230 .. the only bad thing is that .. And dont think im crazy i loved flat packing it was so easy and fast.. and now i have to propack i still cant figure it out its insane..i think it took 30 mins just to pack and that was even with help.. I geuss its worth it though.. Im in love.. (with my rig) only 4 jumps today my boss thinks i should work all day tomorrow...anyone not in the midwest.. the weather was awsome here.. Sunny around 75 beautiful day.. hope you all had good jump filled weekends.. Blue skies joe
  20. welcro would be a good idea i just started propacking for the first time today( ill never get it right) wan even with waits i kept sliding..
  21. Anne sounds like an awsome day sorry i missed out i was working all day of course and i have to work sat. and sund.. so ill be out at archway tomorrow morning hopefully witha new/used rig.. see ya there.. joe
  22. This post reminds of this expression one of the Jm,s has on his helmet "im more confused than a baby in a topless bar"

    Spotting

At my Dropzone Spotting was partially taught. they went over it with us out of a c-182 a couple times during student status and never really made sure we knew how to do it.. I feel i now can spot pretty well out of a cesna. im still working out of the king air.. sometimes when i go up and sit by the door i ask the spotter if its all right if i spot and he checks it for me. i usually do pretty good. So its all about if you want to spot or not.. i feel that anyone with a license should be able to spot out of whatever plan they usually jump out of.. its part of skydiving..
  24. Pammi i had the same problem you have . i would zoom right on down to the formation get on the same level and then try to go forward and dock.. my problem was i would dive down to the level of the dive and end up keep going right on pass the base. Fixing that for me is pretty much what cptnstratn said. Dive down to just above the formation then sink down to them that helped me out a lot i use to always go low no i endup floating but its easier to go back down then to come up...
  25. "His chin strap is danglin about two inches and his helmet never falls off. " Is that what the chin strap is far, to hold the helmet on I thought it was there to bother me.. ... Good thing my head is big enough to hold my helmet on..
