  5. I still want to give this person another chance before I post his name. I want to try to work it out, but at this point he hasnt answered my last email so he may leave me no choice, I will say he is someone who i have never seen write a post at least as of late.
  6. Well i seem to have gotten into a small problem with another DZ.com member. Heres what happend. About a month ago i was looking through the DZ.com classifieds to find a good deal on some used gear. well i found this jump suit that would be perfect for me , right size good shape and a good price. so i call the guy selling and talk to him about it and he seems like a real nice guy, we share a couple sky dive stories and everything and i decide to go ahead and buy the suit.. So i go and buy a money order and mail it out that same day. A couple days later i get a call from his wife saying that they recieved the money order but her purse was stolen with the money order in it. Now heres my mistake i lost the reciept so i couldnt stop payment in the money order, now they wont send the suit and im out over $100. A month later and still no work from the people aside from on e email saying they wont send the suit until i send another check. So do you think that since i lost the reciept i should just accept my lost or do you think that the guy i bought this from is in the wrong because after all i did pay for the suit.Or do you think that i just fell for a stupid scam and completely lost out. HAs this ever happend to anyone else out there? I geuss we all have to be careful. Joe

Dont worry about how many of each you do, just remember what you did on each and learn from your mistakes, the ones you mess up are usually the best. Keep it up before you know it youll have that A Blus Skies Joe
  8. Thanks everyone for your opinions. Marc I think your right about not trying it in rentals especially that Doplphin, I've heard that about Jason not wanting us trying that with his gear. I geuss ill have to wait to get my own rig.. However long that will be, i should have quit a few jumps by then.. thanks again.

  10. I just got my A license and have 36 jumps. I love to watch the videos of the freefliers when they get back from their jumps at the dz. I was just wandering when a good time to start learning freeflying is, and how do I go about learning. I feel comfortable doing RW but i know RW and Freeflying is completely different. So what do you think, how many jumps did you have before you started Freeflying and sitflying???? THanks for you time Joe

  16. WEll what a weekend, or really a day and a half..Sunday after work i headed out to the DZ about 330, made it there just before 5 and got two jumps in..and finally was signed off to pack on my own. So i stay at the DZ sunday night and have a couple beers and BBQ with everyone else out ther.. Monday wake up at 7:30 and go to the DZ and take the test, and just barely passed i really mean barely. SO anyway i finally had the old A marked on my little yellow card.. SO my first dive i do a 4pt 6 way out of the king air.. and it went really well. I stayed with everyone and hit all the points with plenty of time.. my next jump was a 4 way from a c-182 , that one was a little harder we had less time.. and for some reason it took me a second to get stable... out of the king air i usually dont have a prblem but out of the Cesna for the first time in a while was a little differnt.. all in all th eday went good..the weather was beautiful sorry for anyone stuck under a cloud.. well how was everyone elses weekend as good as mine i hope Blue Skies Joe
  17. I have to agree with Fallinwoman. I actually have only jumped there (Archway, just outside of ST. Louis), and they have been amazing since my first jump. I only have 31 jumps now and yet the DZO and several others with extremely high jump #'s invite me to do jumps with them all the time. Its an amazing place, very friendly with a big landing area, A king air and a few c-182's. I know i have nothing to compare it to but its a great all around place. Anne what days are you going to be there this weekend? Safe landings. Joe
  18. Just about everything is good for me. moby, radiohead, beck , Limp bizkit, Linkin Park just to name a few but i also listen to the old rock like LZ and Jimmy and the Doors old punk like black falg and the descendants i grew up on.
  19. Hey All, So yesterday i just finally learned how to pack and didnt have time to jump my own pack job. SO today i get off work around 3 and head on out to the DZ, A little over an hour later i get there and manifest for the next King Air load So they tell me i am going to jump come down pack and go jump my own pack job, O.k. if you say so.. so i did a solo jump to start nothing exciting aside from the usually jumping out of a plane.. and down i come, and hear i go.. tiem to pack. well i did have supervision just to make sure i didnt do anything stupid and i get it all packed and go to manifest, Then they tell me i am doing a 4 way Cool. i have only done 3 ways so far.. so we go over a dirt dive and were going to attempt a double falcon. Ive never even heard of this before but hey it sounds fun.. so we go through the routine and up we go. i do a 2 way linked exit and the other 2 are doing poised exit on each side of the person i was linked to. "ready, set, Go" and out the door we go... It was a very stable exit and all docked rather quickly so we do the first point i swing out a little wide but come right back and so it went on my first falcon and we just barely connected the last point for the double, we probably shouldnt have attempted the last dock we were a little low i remember lookin at my alti right after we released and it was at 3900 instead of the original break off alti of 45 but problems, SO now i pull the ripcord of the rig i just packed solo for the first time and to my surprise a nice easy, big opening.. and landed it about 5 feet from the center Hoola hoop target.. so my weekend although i only got in 2 jumps i owed 2 cases of beer and had a blast. Blue Skies Joe
  20. Hey Anne, I hope the weather holds out for you. ill be there tomorrow, i am taking the packing class at 8 and hope to get a few jumps in and my license done with, i just need the class and the test.. Oh yeah we have to be formally introduced tomorrow. We havent yet and have been there several times together.. Well good luck and i should see you tomorrow.. ~blue skies~ Joe
  21. well just to bore everyone for a couple of minutes ill tell you about my day. I got up early and headed out to the DZ (Archway) under mostly blue skies.. The hour long trip turned blue skies to cloudy skies...to completly cloudy skies, Not looking very promising yet.. then i pulled into the Parking lot and to my surprise saw two Twin Otters and our King Air out side of the airport. The great people from skydive chicago were nice enough to fly down for the weekend and let us use one of their Twin Otters. This might not be exciting for any of you but i have only jumped from a cesna and a king air so i was really looking forward to this... SO at 11:30 i manifested and then waited until about 1:00 or so before we went on call..the clouds finally started to go away, so up we go all 22 of us, I was bymself getting out right after a 15 way. Wow what a nice exit. Exiting from an Otter is so much nicer than the king air, WEll the skydive is going good i work on basic stuff and at 3500 pull.. and open into some serious line twists that had me spiraling side ways quickly towards the ground.. I finally kick out only to still be spiraling downward i thought about cutting away for the first time. but still had enough altitude to work it out. so now everything is normal accept that im very far away from the airport and wasted altitude kicking out of the line twist. So fly downwind as fast and straight as i could and make it make to the edge of the runway and have to set up a landing just off the west runway, which i did and had a nice stand up landing... So my first Otter jump went great until i pulled the rip cord, But it was fun and a very smoothe ride up to alt..i did four more jumps including an 8 pt. 2 way for the first time.. that was cool. so now i am up to 29 jumps and taking a packing class next sat morning and should finally have my license. I would like to thank anyone out there from Skydive Chicago for the great experience on the OTter, I cant wait for the Casa to come in in mid Sept. i hear thats a great jump plane.. well thanks for listening.. have safe week everyone.. Joe
  22. Gotta love baseball... well that is if your from the best sports city in the u.s.(ST. LOUIS) Ill admit there isnt excitement on every play but theres enough to make it interesting, I will admit however Soccer is a better sport.. GO CARDS Joe
  23. have to agree with ya on #2 its always a good time for a shiraz, merlot or red zin. IF not that ill take just about anything. a shot of patron tequila or a Captn N Coke and you have to drink beer..
  24. Michelle, very well spoken. congrats on your graduation..the solo jumps are the best. i still have one more solo to go before my license. Youll love it and do great i am sure.. Blue skies Joe
