0:0:0 My hopes for the weekend were high with the King Airs return all wee need was decent weather and in March thats not too much to ask, or is it. Today rain sleet and snow, tomorrow high of 20 with snow showers. Oh well. For me its all about the Free fall. Simply I love it. Nothing else quite like it. Even on Hop N Pops. Before winter i use to always dump at 3500 or above since winter and all we could do were H N P's i have found my dump alti to be right about 3k down to 2.5K Altough some fellow jumpers want to start doing some CRW and i geuss i would have to open a little higher. So I have to jobs one during the day and one during the night. I wait tables and bartend during the day and wait tables at night. My day job has me working every sunday. So that means no jumping on sundays. My night job has me working every saturday night so the only time i can jump is saturday before work. Well after careful thought ive decided that I must have sundays off, so I can get more jumps in. So today after my day job I go down and talk to the GM. I put my 2 week notice in and he asks why, I tell him SKYDIVING of course, thinking he is going to think im nuts but he was totally cool with it and even offered to try to work me in the schedule just a couple days a week and no Weekends.....NOw if i can get my night job to give me off on Saturdays. My Dz is open every weekend throughout the year. During the summer we are open week days for appointments mainly for FJC and Tandems but if we show up theyll usually let us jump if there arent enough tandems out. . Blue Skies Joe "When they say jump you say how high" RATM

I dont know about statistics but I think they are both safe. THe instructors jumping with the students can match fall rates very well and should be able to catch anyone. I would personally recomend Static line. I think its just as safe as AFF and I thought that i learned more through the course than if i had taken AFF. i was spotting on my 10th jump. All in all i think that whatever they choose theyll be happy with and have the times of there lifes. Blue Skies Joe "When they say jump you say how high" RATM

I agree. if i plan on heading out to the DZ after work or have to go straight from the DZ to work i take my rig inside with me. I dont think i would get out at @ 2200 im not that desperate for a jump. If i cant get at least 3000k ill just wait it out. But lets just say i was going to get out at 2200 i dont think i would want my cypress on. I love my canopy to snivel, and sometimes that cypress might go off early so i wouldnt want it on. And frogeting to pull your reserve. I dont think i could forget that important step to saving your life. Your basic survival instinct should take care of that. Just an observation ive noticed it is now harder for a minor to buy cigarettes than it is for them to buy liquor. At a gas station a block away from my house ive noticed the clerk carding nearly everyone for cigerettes whether they look 16 or 30, Yet the same clerk will sell beer to anyone that can see over the counter and not even ask for an I.d. 116 jumps and no cut aways yet. (knocking on wood). Almost cutaway a couple weeks ago packed a flip through looked up canopy was fine but my risers were twisted backwards still had control so landed. it always check your lines while packing. Another time had severe line twists that sarted me spinning almost belly to earth while under canopy as i was reaching for my handles i started twisting the other way free of them. ITs a good idea not to so i dont recomend it however i jumped with a head cold this winter well i was getting better i had the could for about 4 days and it was starting to clear up so i decided to jump when my ears started cracking on the way up i thought i was doomed, but nothing happend and they never hurt at all on the way up or in free fall. but like i said its a safer bet to jump next week than to be out for a long time because you took a chance Blue Skies Joe "When they say jump you say how high" RATM
