Triathlon 190 loaded at about 1.1 : 1 I bought it because it came in the used rig i bougth everything had under 100 jumps and was a great deal so went with it. I know I am still considered a newbie to the sport i currently have 113 jumps all on a canopy loaded 1.1 or lower. And I just want to say that swooping is nothing to even consider for me. I geuss I had a reality Check this weekend when i ventured out of my home DZ for the first time. I went down to the Mardi Gras boogie at Gold Coast and for the first time saw the diffrences from a boogie to an average day at the DZ. Until this weekend I had always wanted to give swooping a shot and couldnt wait to get enough jumps in to down size and give it a shot.. THat all changed on Sunday when about 50 yrds from me a swooper hooked it head first into the Ground. It appeared that he was cut off by another jumper but that dosent justify anything. Despite people saying that he was dead, THis person was very fortunate due to soft ground that he only broke his cheeck bone or socket. another broke bones swooping it in this weekend too.. I am not saying that swooping should be band but i am just trying to let all the other newbies out there know that swooping isnt a necessity and is very dangerous without the proper training and experience. I geuss im just trying to say that skydiving can be fun with out it. I land every jump on my feet and awalk away from them all so far.. KNock on wood. I just think that as some people go to the dz and progress in there jump numbers that they too want to rush into swooping. You dont have to youll still be a great skydiver with out the hook turns and the swoops. Im just saying this so hopefully i dont have to see another person hit the ground one was enough to wake me up. I realized that i am perfectly happy with my canopy size because i will be safe, i will land safe and i will get right back on the plane fo rthe next load. Please think about it before you do it listen to you DZO and S& TA if they think your not ready yet then wait. Better to jump and land softly than jump for your last time. Just talking to some friends about the license requirements for wearing a helmet and shoes. I believe that you have to have a D before you dont have to wear shoes and a helmet they say it might be a C. Can anyone clear this up. THanks Joe

You know im not sure why i made that first jump but i do remember telling my brother several years ago after his first jump that he was crazy. Then i decided if he can do it so can i . He only did 2 jumps though. I just hit number 100 today had to do a hop n pop for it how exciting. Cant complain though 6 jumps today and 1 yesterday not too bad.

i'll jump with every one.....and if ya want some free (read, not good) video i'll do it... O.k. well not what you think by the title i was "rearended " well not me in person. . thankfully, but iwas hit from behind.. wait a minute did that sound any better O.k. hears what happened it was raining out and a car in front of me stopped so i stopped and all of a sudden this guy ran into the back of my car. Bunner i thought .. but it all turned out o.k. there was no damage to either car so we were all cool about it and didnt do anything about it. We just shook hands and said everything looked o.k. that was my 2nd accident ever and both were identical.. no damage either time man im lucky welll not realy lucky at least not for a while.

One time in band camp.. NO really i wasnt ever in band camp but if i was im sure it would be similar to the movie. WElll accpet im male but maybe well Leson 1 dont post when drink too much. WEllll any way am i stil tyoing im sorry.

A beautiful day for january here in the midwest i think we hit 60 with blue skies all day. The only problem was the wind. It only appeared to be out of the south at 10 on the ground gusting to 20 but i think it was worse than that. THe uppers were hauling ass as well out of the west. So on my 5th and last jump today. The wind must of picked up because i actually landed while moving backwards not as fun as i thought it would be. SO i land and bring my canopy down and start to walk behind it. all of a sudden it reinflates and wants to take off SO now im running with it pulling on one toggle as hard as i can and finally bring it back down. Then again. Bam it takes off again this time nearly pulling me off the ground. so Im holding on as hard as i can and am having a hard time just holding on to it. I planted both feet and am pulling down as hard as i possibly could and nothing.So i start running around my canopy but i couldnt catch up with it. Finally after a couple minutes of wrestling with my canopy i somehow bring down under control.. How embarrasing. Im sure everyone in the hanger was having a great time watching, But i was actually scared for a minute. i had no control over my canopy i geuss i should have cut away the main might have made it a little easier to collect. OH well. Oh that was a first time that ever happend so i geuss its BEER for all. Anyone been tormented by there canopy. Blue Skies Joe
