Yes...I moved about 4 hours away from Nome, but it's still my home dz. I am kinda spoiled now with the big planes, but I still miss you guys a LOT! I'm not gonna miss the beach jumps in August though. Hope you both are there. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

The Dates You Have Been Waiting For (SF06)

I'm just so glad you are coming! Can't wait to be roomies and play in the sky together. I just realized something...the weekend of skyfest will mark a year since I took groundschool, and made my "first" AFF1 attempt I remember thinking on that day..."hopefully I will be at skyfest next year." WOW!! -
I'm a full-time mom and made it happen. I did childcare to pay for the start-up costs. Of course, I got lucky because I did my training at the only dz in Texas (I think) that does Static Line. It was only $1300. Once I was off student status, it was only $25 per day to rent the gear, and they didn't charge for coach jumps. I was again blessed when I got my gear. My instructor sold me a complete rig for $1000, another jumper GAVE me his jumpsuit because it looked better on me than him, and a very dear friend of mine gave me his Cypres (i paid for factory check and battery) when I was thinking about quitting until I could afford one. I may not have the fanciest, newest gear...but I get to be a part of the most awesome sport in the world!! At least *I* think so Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

Flushed apple cores down the toilet at my granparents' house. I remember my grandpa just laughing as he poured boiling water down the commode. It worked, and I've used that method several times since my last child was born. I can almost hear Grandpa laughing from above.

Here's something good about my dad...he passed away 9 years ago. That's a sad statement, but the truth nonetheless. We are all much better off without him. I must say this though. If he hadn't put me through all that crap, I may have never become a skydiver. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

I am very traditional so there was no question of dropping my maiden name. I went from Turnage to Mayfield. Turnage just sounds funny to me now My sister's first name is Yemia, and she married a Japanese man named Mark Hashimoto. No one believes she is my sister when I tell them her name. She still had one year of graduate school after they got married, and the professor was taking roll. When he called her name, he fixed his gaze on an oriental woman a couple of rows back. It took a little convincing on her part for sure as she is blonde and fair skinned. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

***She should have thrown tomato juice at the Crackheads. (sorry..it was irresistable! ~~April __________________________________________________ There were plenty of times I was tempted to throw something at them...especially when they egged my husband's mustang after he spent hours washing and waxing it! Man, I can't imagine if one of my children got sprayed! That would be an awesome story to tell their girlfriends

Thanks Wendy and Brains. Sounds like this formula won't stain the bathtub! Yes, my dog is too spoiled to use the hose. Gotta have warm water. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

Oh man Jenn!! The smell is bad enough and the thing's at least 30 feet from the house. I can't imagine if our dog had dragged it on the porch. We would definately have to repaint after that. Whew!! Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

Thanks for the advice Dave. It will come in handy. I really am glad we moved out here. I'd rather deal with the skunks than the two crack houses we had on our old street But I HATE scorpians. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

Around 55 or so...for the same reason as two other moms on here...LABOR! It's amazing what we can do when we have to

As bad as it is, it sure beats scorpians. Those things are beyond creepy. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

We just moved out to the country in the San Antonio area. About two days after moving in, we were all down at our little creek when we noticed this awful odor. We walked back up to the house and it seemed to follow us. It didn't take long for us to realize one of our dachshunds had annoyed a skunk Well, yesterday we noticed her barking at a large rock. Figuring there was more to it than the rock, my husband investigated and discovered a baby skunk nestled underneath. So we've either kept the dog in the pen outside or the house. Anyway, tonight she managed to escape and assumed her post by the rock. As I was on my way outside to fetch her, I was met with the unmistakable stench of SKUNK! So off I go tomorrow for some....you guessed it....tomatoe juice! If I don't die from the smell first Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

Can you please explain to me WHY a guy would want to be anywhere near that during "that time"? Shoot, *I* would rather not be anywhere near it when I'm going through it. At least you guys have a choice in the matter. And Walt, after what you went through when you were a nurse, I can't believe that would do anything for you. Boy, the things I keep learning about you. You've been the most interesting friend I've had in a while
-
Oh Walt, I almost did it again. I was about to ask what in the WORLD you all were talking about...but I knew I would regret it if I did. Sadly, though, I'm pretty sure I've figured it out I'll learn my lesson one day Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
