  1. 1: 2: 1 Two fantastic jumps at skydive San Marcos. A two-way with Dave H. (bluskidave) to work on fall rates. Stayed with him the whole time. YES! Got on Jessica's 100th jump on the sunset load. It was also my 50th
  2. ***A float is SUPPOSED to have foam, silly man. How else are you going to slurp and then have a foam mustache? __________________________________________________ Ha ha....see there Walt. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  3. ***I have no soda in my house or I would have (I haven't had a float in MANY years!) In any case, this thread just prompted me to eat a Dove bar. __________________________________________________ Well sometimes we just have to improvise. My husband and son took a trip to the store for vanilla ice cream because they got sick of hearing me wine about how much I wanted a FLOAT!! 4. I didn't start jumping until I was married for ten years and had two children. It was tough at first because I did have to devote so much time during the training. Now that I'm licensed I only go to the dz every other weekend, and I don't always stay all day. It was hard, but I settled into a healthy balance. I know that my husband will never jump, but I can't imagine my life without him. Yes, I understand my situation does differ from yours, but good luck in whatever you decide. 5. ***You don't spit in the wind under canopy. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fixed it for ya. __________________________________________________ Love it! Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  6. ***6. If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging __________________________________________________ Oh my...some time ago, another dz.commer gave me this exact advice in reference to a post (a series of posts actually) that I made. He was right. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  7. So did anyone else who read or posted to this thread give in and indulge in some kind of float? Well, the temptation was just too great for me, especially in this Texas heat. I'm sitting here enjoying a classic coke float with vanilla ice cream, both made with Splenda. And I put the ice cream in first! Life is good
  8. ***It's far better than dealing with the foam. __________________________________________________ I always thought the foam was the best part. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  9. Mom always put the ice cream in first, so naturally that's the way I do it. I did not know about side pouring the soda. That's interesting. Man, what have I done, now I'm gonna have to have a float tonight. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  10. That is one of the answers to this question. Why did we move back out to the hill country from Houston? Those pictures are definately worth a thousand words. I love it out here. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  11. Walt you are such a rebel! Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  12. Hey...I can't have refined sugar, so I get the ice cream with Splenda. It's pretty good. Surely you can't be watching your weight girl! Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  13. OOOHHH...I forgot about root beer. Cream soda would probably be even better! Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  14. Okay, My husband and I have disagreed (imagine that) on which goes in first, the ice cream or the soda. Also, I'm just plain old fashion. I love vanilla ice cream and Coke, but I've heard some pretty strange combos. My friend likes chocolate ice cream and root beer Let's see who can come up with the most unusual float combo. I know y'all will do me proud! BTW, No BEER!! That's just gross. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  15. I believe it's wrong to discipline a child for using a word when they have no idea it's a "bad word", and especially if they've heard it from someone who is supposed to be setting an example (a good one that is). My son knows he can always come ask me what a word means and I won't go "ape" on him for saying it. If he continues to use bad words and I know he understands what they mean and that they are unacceptable, action will be taken. 17. skydiving community is just as *&^%$ up and dysfunctional and any other group of people. __________________________________________________ Well I've met Walt so I definately believe that!! Y'know I luv ya Walt!
  18. He's already done enough damage to my child! Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  19. ***Next time tell him to ask *me* what the words mean and how to use them properly! Walt __________________________________________________ You're pushing it Walt! I'm gonna get in my car and come down there Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  20. My 7 (almost 8-yikes) year old has heard a lot of profanity from some of the kids down the street where we used to live. He came home and just matter of factly asked me what the words meant. I would give him my best explanation and tell him we don't use those words. That's easier than your scenario because he isn't hearing them from someone he looks up to. Probably not much help. Sorry LisaMarie. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  21. ***Damn I fall asleep at 10:30pm and look at all the good drama I missed __________________________________________________ Yeah...I've been at the lake since about lunchtime swimmin' with my boys. Looks like this thread was hit by a cyberspace tornado and I completely missed it. Oh, and Walt, I LOVE YOU Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28

  23. It just cracks me up how "pre menstrual syndrome" has made it's way into a thread that is NOT in the Women's forum. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  24. AMAZING what a missing apostrophe will do to the meaning of a reply. ______________________________________ __________________________________________________ Now I don't care who you are....*THAT* is funny!! Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
  25. It's truly amazing how close-knit this community is. I knew skydiving itself was awesome, but I never imagined what an added bonus the friendships would bring. Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:28
