Student kills 5 at school and grandparents

Most of these have already been disputed in the past. But do tell me John, when did Canada ban firearms? On the opposite, please tell me of a society as a whole, not a couple of communities, where everybody was given a gun, lots of ammo and gun crimes went down. As for big business......if you think the small arms trade is not big business you have got to be kidding. I think at this point stock in small arms companies is a better bet than tobacco companies, wouldn't you think? -

the first reaction was a very boldly stated "over my dead body" I classify that as macho talk. Like I said, keep your guns, doens't affect me. Plus, they are obviously doing lots of good. -

didn't they also think the earth was flat and the rest of the universe revolved around it? -
On no, they learned from that. But see, Iraq was to be different. JUst like when we went into Europe they will all be lining the roads and throwing us victory parties.

I know this is where all the macho talk comes in and the I'll kill anybody who tries to take my guns and all that stuff. I have stated before I could care less if you guys have guns or not, doesn't affect me. Just unfortunate for the occasional high school student and teachers. -

exactly, like I continued on, it won't happen, your politicians are too well paid off. -
But you also can't condemn others for doing the same thing.

Make them illegal, except for some very specific uses under very controlled conditions. Get rid of your second amendmend, triple the price with taxes on both guns and ammo. -

It is done in many other countries, it really isn't that hard. The biggest problem is the outlandish number of politicians who would no longer have contributions to their campaigns. -

I see sarcasm is lost on you. My solution is to reduce the number of easily available guns. Exactly the opposite of your solution of getting more guns on the street. These high school shootings are a predominately US problem. Why do you think that is John? -

You left out that he also stole and strapped on his Grandfather's bullet-proof vest. which would have made for an interesting scenario in Kennedy's world where the teachers would have enganged him in a fire fight. Like everytime something like this happens, the answer to the problem is more guns. Thankfully this happens constantly in all western developed countries. Every couple of years, a kid loads up on ammo and guns and goes and kills some kids and teachers. It is just a fact of life in all western countries. Guns aren't made for killing, and he could have just as easily done all this with a knife or maybe even a hammer. Absolutely no difference. The problem isn't that guns are easily accessible to disturbed individuals, the problem is that there aren't enough guns out there to begin with. -
Don't need to kill the chicken for nutrition. Many a vegetarian eates a very well balanced diet. But then, chickens aren't cuddly and furry, so who cares if we slit their necks open, hang them upside down to drain the blood, just so we have something to put in a stir fry.

No such thing where I live. Shelters are full, only way to get an animal in is by dropping it off in a box in the middle of the night. If not soon adopted it will be killed. I don't think it is. THe spading and neutering we only do for the benefit of ourselves. To save ourselves of the abundance of stray cats we would otherwise have and to save ourselves of the agony of watching our favourite pet die of a disease we thought we could otherwise prevent. Plus, it often stops spraying and other unwanted behaviour. I don't share your belief that cats are fixed to help them live a longer and happier life. They are fixed to make us happier, as some are declawed to make us happier.
-
I know, guess we typed at the same time. It is not. It goes back to hurting animals just for human convenience. that is the problem with declawing isn't it? So, why doesn't it appear to be a problem when it comes to animals who aren't cuddly and furry?
-
To Conundrum: Well the other option was leaving one of them in the snow as a little kitten, shivering. Because I picked her up from the street on a -20 degree night. To make a long argument much shorter. I don't understand the argument about hurting animals just for owner's convenience when it comes from people who have no problem doing it when it comes to other animals. (not saying this is necessarily true for you) The comparison to people is not as apples and oranges as you may think. An Oophorectomy for cats or humans would have mainly the same effect. Reduce the amount of babies (the world is already overpopulated of both species) and reduce the chances of certain illnesses.

Okay, I'll ask you the question then, since nobody else seems to answer it: Would you rather lose all your finger tips, or would you rather have your balls removed? Do you eat meat? What would you do with ants crawling all through your house. For those in Florida, what do you do with termites once they have infested your house?
