In Canada for instance, security officers employed in valuable transportation are allowed to carry fire arms. Other security personel are not allowed to carry firearms. If a security company switches function and does not hand in their guns, I would hope my government will confiscate them because possession was no longer warrented. Why do you feel so strongly that fire arm legislation in the rest of the world has to be like the US?

They could technically already do that in many major cities with electronic toll roads.

Funny, Wal Mart Canada isn't subsidized, Canada's corporate tax structure on top of that is not as advantageous as the US', yet they still make money.
-
I agree with you Darius.

Is that the same as streets and trips from Microsoft? I have and like that software. The 2005 version now offers a GPS receiver, allowing your laptop to turn into a great tool while traveling.

because they have, or will soon have the ability to cripple the economy, both in the US as well as Canada.

Interesting to hear, specially from an Iraq supporter. Isn't that exactly what is happening in Iraq, trying to install a form of government not common in that country or that area of the world. Going against history.

Haliburton and Government?

WalMart is the worlds largest retailer and in no need of subsidies to stay profitable. If there is an oil company losing money at this point in time, the issues are bigger than something a subsidy can solve. Maybe with some companies I can see subsidies being needed, WalMart and oil companies certainly aren't part of them.

absolutely!!!

That is Saudi Arabia, you forget they are part of the good guys....

Right, you are telling me he meant that he enjoys the actual feeling of pulling the trigger, of feeling the recoil, the sound of the shot? You are right, hunting and killing is not the same. In this case that analogy doesn't wash. They are trained to kill with a shot, shoot to kill. Anyways, just my opinion that it is scary....but some seem to be truly happy that there are people that enjoy killing. Many seem to be okay with the whole judge, jury and executioner thing and with the generalization that all Muslim men in Iraq and Afghanistan hit their wives. Guess it allows them to justify things in their minds.

I think many, if not all of us, tend to think that our way of life is better than other's way of life. it behooves us all to sometimes stand still and try and remember that not everybody wants be like us.

He said he enjoyed shooting them. They shoot to kill.
-
Okay, so was he trained to shoot to injure? Or was he trained to shoot at their feet so they would dance? Or maybe the US Marine Corps trained him to disarm the opponent by shooting the gun from their hands? Or maybe general orders are to shoot the guy in the leg? Or maybe they shoot to kill? What do you think Tom?

It is unfortunate you seem to be only able to see things in extremes, they are either black or white.....or something would solve all crimes...otherwise some of these discussion would actually by good.
-
And when they describe that part of their job as fun, I would find that scary as well. I am pretty sure that if a cop kills a person and subsequently in a public forum tells people he enjoyed killing the person there would be some repercussions.

Total BS........even in our litigious society

To me it is not the woman who is an asshat, people will always try to make an easy dollar. The asshat is the judge who actually ruled in her favour. -
No, I have a problem with the stupid remark he made. I have a problem that remarks like that just fuel the hatred for Americans in the middle east. I have a problem with the fact that a stupid remark like that has a habit of getting your teenage americans killed. To me it is just as stupid as the crusade and bring them on remarks. Like I stated before, if it had been a general from another nation, active in either afghanistan or iraq I would have said the same thing. So, to use your words: Now I'll let you finish with your customary last word.....

here is the same quote from Fox News Ron....here you can find the whole story: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,146371,00.html See, I have even found it on Fox News, so it must now be true......
-
I copied directly rom the article, gave the link to the whole article for all to read.....so, where did I misquote?
-
It was a joke buddy, relax, take a couple of deep breaths, it will all be okay.....
-
Read the whole thread, I already addressed that. plus, I linked the whole article....

sure, because the subsequent invasion has been a great windfall for Haliburton....which keeps the VP happy, which is really the guy with the brains in the current outfit

I am pretty sure they are taught to shoot to kill, or maybe unlike police officers, they are taught to shoot them in the leg, or maybe even shoot the gun from their hands.
