I wonder how you would feel if a muslim posted that american necks make great sword sharpeners, cause they are nice and leathery.... And not all muslims wear turban, but hey, what's a little ignorance among friends....

More tax cuts with cost us billions in the long run!
SkyDekker replied to goofyjumper's topic in Speakers Corner
So, if I don't agree with tax hikes, but I pay them anyways, does that make me a hypocrit too. What an incredibly assinine statement. -
they aren't Roman Catholic

very true, I guess I should have clarified that I was speaking of current situations.

Darius, thanks for your open and frank repsonse. Your response got me thinking. Where is all the violence happening? What countries is that violence happening in? Could it be that the violence has more to do with local cultures then religion? I think it has become increasingly easy to blame the religion, while it may not be the religion at all. We have previously established that certain cultures are more prone to violence than others. Looks like many muslims around the world have been able to either shrug it off, or protest peacefully. So, I think I will adjust my statement accordingly. I think all this has shown that many middle eastern cultures are prone to violence.

Darius....I don't know who else to ask this but, why all the upset over cartoons....in a newspaper of a country that is not anywhere close to muslim dominated. Does it not show that Muslims are prone to violence? If a newspaper prints a charicature of a politician, can that politician then torch the newspaper building? I think all this has shown more what a great many muslims truly stand for. Which is, if you don't like something, resort to violence.

Andrea Yates walked today after killing 5 of her kids..

it has nothing to do with sympathizing. You have in the past clearly shown that you do not believe in mental illness. To you, a smile a day can keep the phsyciatrist away. Unfortunately, in the real world, that isn't the case. I agree that some time the insanity plea is overused, but it is up to our courts to deal with that. In this particular case, I think it is pretty clear the woman is insane, or at least was at the time. -
yes I can understand the rational behind it.

I wonder, when the Chinese economy overtakes the US, does that mean communism is better than capitalism?

What does it mean if Hamas win the Palestinian election?
SkyDekker replied to Newbie's topic in Speakers Corner
Well, if it went through the White House and was directed by Bush, I would hope it was tax dollars. Unless off course you think it would be perfectly fine for the President of the US to use private money to influence. I don't, but then I was poiinting out that your comparison made absolutely no sense, not complaining about a waste of my money. Making your come back off the mark...again. -

They were pictures of the michigan militia....you are right, no political or ideological convictions behind them at all... [.crazy] -
What does it mean if Hamas win the Palestinian election?
SkyDekker replied to Newbie's topic in Speakers Corner
yes, because tax money collected by the government and personal disposable income are exactly the same.....[.crazy] -

What does it mean if Hamas win the Palestinian election?
SkyDekker replied to Newbie's topic in Speakers Corner
Well it isn't. But most individuals don't publicly and openly state that they see it as their mission that democracy and freedom is brought to all parts of the world. Nor are they willingto invade other countries to force that upon them. Guess, to me, that is what makes it a bit different. -
Exactly, the fearless leader says they are being held with proof, so don't you even dare question that. The White House is never wrong.

I compared pictures not movements...with a tongue in cheek....indicating that extremism is around everywhere. Some would even consider Bush to be on the extreme right of the political spectrum. In the end it was a democratic election. In the end it does show that the US doesn't care how people get in power (even though your leadership keeps talking about freedom and democracy and all those nice words) they really only care about wether they agree with their line of thinking. Further difference is that when the militia blows people up, they don't kill one of their own in the process....probably don't offer enough virgins... -

those pictures kinda look like these -
Simple...whena white house staffer (current or former, just as long as it was under Bush) says it, it is true....to question otherwise is very unpatriotic.
-
Shouldn't the question be how many you actually have any form of proof on> I forget, in the current climate it isn't healthy to question the government....just follow along and do and believe as you are told....

And your relatives experience is statistically valid how? Toronto is the 5th largest city in north america. The overall homocide rate is down in recent years, gun crime is up. There is no denying that work needs ot be done, but we don't come close to the amount of homocides in cities of comparable size in the US.
