  1. polygamy, nudity, gay marriage just to name a few.
  2. I can specifically this part: Doesn't this happen in pretty much all countries though? Canada and the US are founded on Christian principles, with christian based mores to guide society. As a non-believer, or different believer am I not forced to submit to that? (Now, I agree with him in light of what happened in specific to the issue of the cartoons. But I think the sentence in general is just to easy.)
  3. Well, not necessarily. Bush has never threatened a Veto. Bush's family has very strong (business) ties to the middle east. Supposedly Bush didn't know about this, yet he feels Very strongly about it. Strong enough to use a veto to get this through. it is an odd thing to do in the current climate. Granted none of this is proof of anything untoward happening. However, for some people, including me, it is enough to start wondering what really might be going on. Not accusations, just possible other scenarios. Your standpoint seems to be that unless there is proof, you are not willing to consider anything else.
  4. it is concealing a homocide not concealing your homocide. This charge is specially helpful when between two people it isn't clear who the actual killer was, but it is clear both were in on it and both helped to conceal it. Sorry Jeffrey, things aren't always black and white.
  5. Stop bursting his bubble....don't you know the US is responsible for everything good in the world....
  6. I wonder on that night with that big heist...how many people got shot in the UK and how many people got shot in the US? Naturally as a percentage to make it all nice and even.... hey Jeffrey, your reasoning as about as flawed as...well I better not say it.....but, murder is illegal in the US...does that mean there are no more murders?
  7. Often an investigation is started when there is the appearance of wrong doing. From that investigation flows wether or not there are facts/proof of any wrong doing. Are you of the opinion that no investigation should ever take place without first having proof?
  8. Or a well established suspicion of one. You are driving in a bdrug infested neighbourhood and refuse a search. I ams ure they will argue that they have grounds on your refusal alone. They have enough to detain you for an on-site questioning. When you start driving away from that, you might just get yourself into more trouble. At least that is how it is here in Ontario
  9. deja vue There are several arguments and studies that show that the death penalty is actually more expensive due to all the required appeals.
  10. My understanding is that police officers can detain without arrest, whereas the general public (including security guards and officers) cannot detain without arrest.
  11. never mind poor reffing. When an all star team like the Canadian team cannot produce a goal in something like 10 out of the last 11 periods, there is a major problem. I think the Head Coach is to blame. It is his job to motivate these guys and lay out the strategy...obviously this guy is unable to do either. Amax congrats!!!!
  12. Looks like the concept of "stop digging" is completely lost on you.....
  13. Not quite, but boy did it hurt then for you guys
  14. Thanks for your reply. Most of it makes sense, however I still find it odd that now all of a sudden he feels strongly about something. Out of all the issues, this is the one he feel strongly about.... Does stating that make you feel better? Because, there really is no way of knowing. On top of that, where I work, the excuse that another possible employee might do a worse job isn't really a valid one.
  15. Exactly, but isn't it odd, that all of a sudden he feels strongly about this? Something his aides have now said he supposedly didn't really know anything about. Plus, his family has very strong ties to that region. You don't find that odd? You are just happy he finally feels strongly about something?
  16. I don't see that approach at all. What I see is some concern from people that no further thought is given to this. Some concern that for some reason your president feels so strongly about this that for the first time he is threatening a veto (eventhough he supposedly didn't know about it, which just makes it even more weird).
  17. Very true, they are like Saudie Arabia. Very moderate and we all know that they have absolutely no ties whatsoever to any form of terrorism.
  18. Now it is just ashort wait until churches/cluts will start forming with daily weed/coke/E/LSD/Heroin/crack/meth rituals.
  19. They have to make sure the general populace stays scared. It is the only way this will work.
  20. I think it is very interesting to see that out of all legislative cases, this is the first and only one in which Bush has threatened to use his Veto power. Which leads me to believe that he has a lot riding on ensuring these ports get in the hands of the UAE. The Bush family has some very strong ties to the middle east. I suggest you follow the money. I would think the BUsh family directly, or indirectly stands to make a lot of money
  21. you are just still pissed off about 1972...it won't hurt as much this time around
  22. Sorry LisaM, you were just the last person in the thread, wasn't meant directly at you!!
  23. Sure, find yourself the nearest police officer with ayoung daughter and start telling him what you like to do to girls around the age of 6. Think you will get arrested? (or beat up, but that is a different thread) Every society decides what they find offensive and what they do not find offensive. I think it is somewhat hypocritical to sit here and condemn another society for something they have deemed to be offensive, when their are restrictions on free speech in the US as well.
  24. I don't get it. The US puts restrictions on free speech. Why is it that your restrictions are better than their restrictions?
