Cause people keep making claims like, they are going to overthrow the government with their guns. Or, another one of my favourites, how an armed society is a polite society. I have no issue with your 2nd amendment right, or how many guns you own. I do find that the "justification" brought forward doesn't make a whole lot of sense (other than that it is a right granted under your constitution). If you are tieing number of posts, caring and subject together, I feel very sorry for most posters in the Bonfire. But, if it makes you feel better......I care very much about your gun rights. It really keeps me up at night.

Politicians. In the US Rush Limbaugh rules one of your parties. They even apologize to him. Its not a matter of agreeing or disagreeing with me. It is a matter of deliberately supplying false news and people swallowing it hook line and sinker. My opinions do not feed of one news source, and certainly not only American news sources. Critical thought and investigation takes a serious backseat to entertainment value. I mean CNN just hired the former Gov of New York to up its ratings....and somebody is supposed to take them seriously?

We are talking about a country that gets riled up about only a few things: Boobies on TV Brangelina The birth place of Obama Whether they get to have guns Political debate is lead by entertainers and most people believe what Fox news tells them. Somehow in all of this we have to be serious....now that is funny.

I often don't agree with the reasoning used and will give my opinion on that. In the end, whether or not you get to play with guns doesn't effect me at all.

They certainly didn't stop all violence, that is evident. But how exactly do you know they didn't stop some of it?

And.....I know this is hard to believe for you....not all the protestors that were in Toronto resorted to violence. I do want to thank you for your tax money though, it made the little town close to my cottage a little prettier

Nothing. Nor did Torontonians ask for protests, nor was anybody protesting for Toronto. Toronto was a venue and not a cause. Do you understand the difference?

You may want to have a bit of a longer term view. Once the oil sands run out, there really is nothing else for Alberta. Bit of a one trick pony.

Me too, but I also have an issue with the looting, stealing and damage caused by people who do not live here. When it comes to image, I am not overly worried, most Americans wouldn't be able to find Toronto on a map. And since there were no igloos in the pictures they probably think it wasn't even in Canada.

I don't believe that part either. time will tell why he did it - I suspect it's one of two things: 1 - on purpose in order to do something he feels is important or: 2 - he screwed up by not treating this interview like he would treat an interview from a "real" news agency I'm leaning towards 2, but really we'll find out soon enough. If it's 1, then this won't be the first vocal retirement. I think there is a distinct third option: This guy, whom most can agree is quite brilliant, is used to winning and getting what he wants, or at least finding himself in a fight with a fair chance. Now he finds himself placed in what probably is a no-win situation. He may have thought this was the best way out...

That's fine, essentially, a libertarian isn't a drone for either party. You seem to think that equate to fewer balls....... what's wrong with standing up for those parts you agree with and not standing up for the stuff you don't believe in? Even when some of each is from both parties and even, GASP, from your own values as an individual.... Fiscally conservative, and socially "mind you own business" doesn't fit either party if one is mindless enough to stand up for either party's "whole platform" you seem to be saying "you're either with us or against us" well, mission accomplished And if items got discussed here on personal opinion, that would be great. But generally people get attacked for being liberals (or republicans). What doesn't require balls is attacking the Democrats and then hiding behind the Libertarian Party. Which has accomplished nothing and doesn't have a single representative in any elected office, nor will it in any foreseable future. It is like yelling you can do things better, knowing you will never have to prove it.
