And forgive me for not taking your lure to switch this from a larger scale discussion to a single specific scientific fact discussion.
-
Because that would be the purpose of a forum like this. Anyways, I have now asked three times to have a normal debate regarding issues with you. It's pretty clear you aren't willing to do that. The reasoning appears to be "cause johnny did it first". This will be my final post on this thread.
-
Out of that whole rant, all I asked you for is to expound on the reasons why you don't agree with the guy. What are you disputing and why. That is kind of the purpose of forums like this. Plus, I really thought we had left the: "he did it first" and "he did it too" lines behind in JK. So, for the third time: Why do you not agree with the guy?

can't take you getting the last post? can't take you formulating an opinion? What is it exactly we can't take? (and more to the point, what exactly is wrong with the items brought forward in the article?)
-
one sided and bullshit? That's all you got in response? I would have thought you would have had something a bit more thoughtful in response.
-
So, mike and rush, do you actually have anything to rebut the items brought forward in the article? Be a lot more interesting to read than this "last post" contest.

Sure, let's take global warming. I have scientist who can prove the earth will continue to get warmer and will self destruct (and I am sure they can round up some decimal points for you too) and I have scientist who can prove that will not happen. 40 years ago there were scientist who had a lot of decimal points to prove that smoking was healthy for you. I have had scientists tell me sunshine is bad for me and I have had scientists tell me sunshine is good for me.

The US has 140 companies on the list. The top 6 European countries have 155 companies on the list with a combined population of 260 million.
-
And combined European countries outrank the US on both the top 100 and 500. And for the first time in 14 years a US company is not in the number 1 spot. The biggest US company, WalMart, is a prime example of what I said. It completely relies on consumer spending, they don't actually fabricate or produce anything. The US consumer doesn't have any money right now. (My stock tip, if you are holding WalMart stock, now would be a good time to sell).

To use your line: Excuse me... What? You start with the observation, then develope a theory, thenevidence shapes the direction of the theory.
-
Your country isn't strong enough to not be a world player. You don't have enough oil, you don't have enough industry and you don't have any money. You have been living of wealth that isn't really backed by anything. Same reason your economy is having a very hard time getting started again.
-
Which was exactly my point.....
-
Where did the interstellar hydrogen and helium and little matter come from? Now to be clear, we believe it to have happened this way based on subsequent observations. We don't actually know it happened that way. All I am trying to get across is that science is as much a belief structure as religion. It is based on making assumptions and believing in them until something else comes along. The OP had made several assumptions about what his specific religion would bring him. When those assumptions did not materialize, he took on a different belief. Science really is no different.
-
Or do you require somebody else to tell you that the evidence is present? Somebody you trust and believe in? (I have to say it is somewhat ironic to discuss this with a person who uses beowulf as a nickname.)
-
Experience and understanding of a concept or the science behind it are not the same thing. But since you state that the evidence is fairly simple, feel free to explain the creation of the earth in fairly simple terms to me.
-
And only a very few that truly "understand" the evidence. The rest just believe it to be true, because the select few say it is true. Wow, that sounds pretty familiar.......
-
And I agree that there is some evidence that the "Big Bang Theory" created the earth. There is still much we don't know about it, until science and technology catches up to being able to prove or disprove some of it. We also don't know much about what was there before the "Big Bang". There is no reason to believe that a power we not yet understand was at work. We might even call that supernatural at this point in time. We are at the beginning stages of being able to control technology by just thinking about it, controlling it with our brain waves. 50 Years ago that comment alone would have had people laugh at you and declare you insane. 500 years ago, it would have gotten you killed for being "supernatural". Most of you are caught up in this discussion on organized religion and your own assumptions of what a god or deity would or would not be. All I mentioned was that ruling out a superpower of some sort would be closed minded.
-
I have no idea. Nor have I stated that any religion would be correct in any of my posts. I have just stated that excluding it from the list of posibilities is closed minded. Believing in science and logic does not mean that you cannot also believe in a god. That was my original point. Most of you have been making assumptions ever since.
-
Sure it does. One of the main reasons scientist like to publish their work.
-
Sure. Find me a concept, widely repeated around the world, of the involvement of a unicorn in the creation of the earth or the universe.
-
If your real friends are stupid enough to let a bot find anything of importance...well, if your going to be stupid, you might as well be tough.
-
Which also makes it closed minded to disgard the possibility of a deity.
-
Your problem isn't with muslims, you are just a simple racist.

Did you send extra when Bush opened the season on towelheads?

Do you like any of your facebook friends and are you allowed to flirt with them?
