Obama upset about the oil spill "blame game"... Seriously?
SkyDekker replied to ridestrong's topic in Speakers Corner
You jumped into a comment I made to ridestrong, which IMHO means you agree with his position. You certainly didn't post you did not agree with any part of his position. -
Again Turtlespeed, How is the war in Iraq keeping the US free and safe? Too busy being a troll to answer a question?

Israeli troops attack ship carrying aid to Gaza killing 16

US, Turkish relations are already strained due to house resolution 106. Turkey is strategically located and I doubt the US really wants to lose the use of their air space and the US air base located in Turkey. Turkey also holds the keys to the supply chain of much of Europe's future energy needs. The US telling Turkey to fuck off, followed by Turkey telling the US to fuck off could end up hurting the US a lot more. -

Then why are all these right wingers blaming Obama for not swooping in and saving the day? You have already determined he is unable to do so. Basically you are whining and complaining for the sake of whining and complaining. -

I though everything was bad when the government is involved? Now you want them involved because you want it cleaned as quickly and effectively as possible.... Thank you for proving my point. -

Why are all you right wingers wanting the federal Government to deal with this. I thought you guys wanted less involvement by government, not mor einvolvement by government. BP is a big company, no need to regulate anything, capitalism will take care of it. Obviously customers will stop buying oil from BP. Those hurt by the occurance can file claims through the judicial system. It is interesting to see those who yell the most for government to get out of their business are the first to cry for the government to do something. And of course, drilling in Alaska is still a wonderful idea. What could possibly go wrong..... -
I am still waiting to here how the war in Iraq is keeping America safe and free. And to the Moderators, people usually get banned for trolling. Why is this not happening in this case?

So how exactly does the war in Iraq keep America safe and free?

There is the difference. I think Bush made it pretty clear he wanted to invade Iraq and the Intelligence Community was to come up with reasons to do so. It would seem that all the intelligence gathering in favour of the war was pretty slim. Anybody remember "yellow cake". Anybody remember the fear mongering that took place, talk of mushroom clouds etc. at a State of the Union? This war was sold to the American public by providing false intelligence and supressing intelligence that did not further "the cause". Do you see the difference in global cooperation in the war in Afghanistan and the war in Iraq? Don't you think the reasoning and motivation for those wars has something to do with that?

A statement that everyone SHOULD agree with . . .

No they shouldn't all think alike, but we shouldn't all breathe alike either - but in order to survive from moment to moment we need to breathe. The quoted text is kind of like air. This post combined with the tread title and first post just shows you are a troll. -
Perhaps you should learn how to spell the word Hilarious before you attempt to use it. Once again ... so much for the myth that Liberals possess superior intelligence. I call bullshit. I doubt you were talking about liberal posses, roving bands of liberals. Yet again, maybe you were...

Since you seem to tie the recovery to the level of the Dow: What does the Dow have to do for you to say there is a recovery underway?

there is a joke in there somewhere about data points....

I went to a rather large and well known High School in Holland. When school officials decided it was ok for them to cut a lock off a locker and take a look inside, all of us walked out of class and refused to go back to class for two days. Testing wouldn't even stand a chance.

Of course he is a hypocrite. A very fucking rich hypocrite. Every televangalist out there is a hypocrite. Most people are hypocrites. Will you now admit that people get more upset about Gore being a hypocrite because his political alliance is different from yours? Will you admit that the level of anger at Gore is driven more by political differences than anyting else? Will you be just as outraged about hypocriticism with Republicans? If not, well that would just make you an....Al Gore.....

Then once verified, you tattoo it on their arm, that would prevent any subsequent checks. Or maybe a little chip, so a simple swipe of a wand can verify.

Not at all. there was no conflict in changing from anti-abortion to pro-life. No thought or word police was involved. Just an organization/movement that decided that for PR reasons they were better off with a different term. In the end you can say whatever you want, just be ready to deal with the consequences. -

I like the answer Wendy stated twice so far. -
Your post right before this you say it isn't really about his house, but about his character. You brought up Bush, so I reflected on what I thought of his actions that speak about his character.

You can use any word you want, assuming you don't have a speech impediment and you have the means to back up what you are saying. I think the majority of people know that nigger is offensive, even though some people say it. Same goes for fuck, asshole, cunt etc. The pendulum swings the other way too. The word "brother" is not considered offensive by most people. I can think of multiple situations where the use of that word will land you in the hospital. -
True, but Bush created fear which led to the deaths of tens of thousands of people. Personally I'll take Gore's indescretions over Bush's indescretions. Gore is a private citizen making a buck for himself, don't think he is doing anything illegal. Morally questionable, maybe, but that describes a lot of CEOs and business owners (and politicians). I think the outrage has much more to do with political leanings of those being outraged than anything else.

Yes, very frequently. My step son has a black father and we are all on very good terms. Within that family and their friends, nobody has ever said nigger. -
In his case a very rich hypocrite.

Right, he created a need and then got rich of it. Sounds like perfect business to me. By your reasoning every tobacco executive has to be a smoker. Gore has done nothing many before him haven't done. Create a fear and then get rich off it.
