  1. That's not the issue. The issue is the options changing the behaviour and the consequences of that behaviour. Road rage is an example of that. Guns are another example. Implying a tool has no impact on people's behaviour is not correct.
  2. Thank you for pointing out that the simple availability of a tool alters behaviour. You previously alluded that this could not be possible.
  3. Which has what to do with your anecdote? Am I supposed to be impressed or surprised american Park Rangers are not requesting people to bring guns to shoot the bears when visiting national Parks?
  4. Probably a pretty large group, for whom power changes their behaviour. I don't think there is much doubt that guns provide power. Hence, a tool can certainly alter people's behaviour.
  5. Do you agree with the statement that power corrupts people?
  6. Bear spray and air horns are effective tools that do not require killing. Hence, proving once again that deadly tools get used where non-lethal tools are more than adequate.
  7. That was 2011. If we count mass shootings with at least 10 dead from 2011 to now, Norway has 69 dead. Which is an internationally known and shocking incident. US has close to 300 dead in 13 incidents. Without looking it up, you probably cannot name more than maybe 3 of those incidents. Thank you for once again proving my point. Either Americans are mentally defective and cannot help murdering each other, or the easy availability of the tool has an impact. Sounds like those French you like to make fun of got it right.
  8. That they become a tool for situations they are not required in. The proverbial hammer and nail. The reaction to running into a black bear shouldn't be, let's kill it. However, as you have shown, it does become the easy reaction when the tool is so easily available.
  9. Bigun and I have it covered sweetheart.
  10. I don't see that as equivalent. Addressing professional women with a term of endearment has for a pretty long time been seen as denigrating. It is used specifically to let them know they are not on equal standing.
  11. I always thought he was a great example of the american caricature. Turns out maybe he wasn't so much a caricature.
  12. Pretty naive to think oil companies did not spend lobbying dollars on this.
  13. They of course are not wrong. Americans do seem to have a higher propensity of murdering their fellow citizens. You may think that is because Americans are mentally defective, but some think the availability of the tools has an impact. And not sure how young children having to endure active shooter drills is really "freedom".
  14. Isn't it ironic how you inadvertently point out just exactly what the problem is with guns.
  15. You think your posting history here would show that to be true?
  16. Would you have addressed a male politician that way as well? Not sure what it is with people and the need to denigrate women.
  17. No christian can ever really claim that. All you are always focusing on is that future moment when you think there will be some reckoning at the pearly gates.
  18. No. The manipulation is in the narrative and never ending investigations. The Republicans even admitted it was for no other purpose then to discredit her. But this all goes back to turtle saying how Clinton is responsible for second and third order effects (real or perceived/contrived) and Trump is not responsible for second and third order effects (real or perceived/contrived).
  19. I have tried it and it is a great burger. I also find it to be heavily processed and question if it is any better than a regular burger. Hence, if I want a burger, I think I will just eat a regular burger.
  20. This and your previous comments are fine examples of how the average American falls for the rampant manipulation.
  21. Yeah, kinda the other way around. Though I did once know a surgeon who had to drink to keep his hands from shaking.
  22. They were just ahead of the times. Untied States of America seems quite apropos these days.
  23. Pray and let god decide. Difference being that expectation of a random person on a trail yard and a doctor at work in an emergency room are different.
  24. But Hillary Clinton is responsible for Benghazi.
  25. My wife and I are on week 2 of eating completely plant based. We decided to try one week, but felt so good after the first week that we decided to go another week. Surprised at how good I feel and how much energy I have. And that is eating at a caloric deficit.
