And the interesting part is that I think he is a little bit right, though not in the way he seems to think. I think it has been the questioning of clergy that has allowed civilization to progress. More so that without atheism civilization wouldn't have progressed as much. I guess where he is somewhat right, it is that without religion there wouldn't be questioning of religion.

Yes, but today we are measuring by stock market. When that recession hits, we will blame it on somebody else and start measuring something else. What we definitely don't want is having to admit being wrong, or any sort of consistency.

Some of that continues to be ongoing. Hence the reporting in the media about Prince Andrew not cooperating with investigations. I think it is perfectly American. The best system with the best constitution after all.

That was Jon Kyle, who then left. He was replaced by a Republican who actually lost the election. That Republican then went on to object to the impeachment because she argued it would be against the will of the people as determined by vote. The irony of course completely lost on her and every other Republican.

Yeah that makes no sense. You are complaining about specific cases in which legislation got shoved down your throat. Which legislation do you feel did not get shoved down your throat?

That is how your laws work and is not specific to this case. Civil litigation can proceed though. He has a pretty heft estate which can be sued. Same laws that allowed Linda Lay to keep a large share of the ill gained Enron money.

Because with Esptein dying, his charges died with him too. Without charges there are also no investigations.
