  1. F.ck yeah!! Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
  2. Vielen dank. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
  3. Whoa. Were they plumbers? Naw, I believe they're just a buncha average, nondescript Joe Six-Packs. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
  4. http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/10/13/obama-plumber-plan-spread-wealth/comments/ headline: Obama to Plumber:... The link came up on my screen and I couldn't get past that...my bullshit meter threw an alert. Try again. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
  5. Nonsense: W.F.Buckley has, in the past, reached a tipping point and taken uncharacteristic positions. For example, he has, in the past, declared the Iraq war a failure. He was also a proponent of the legalization of marijuanna. Well, since he's not following the Republican party line to a tee, that means he's not actually a Republican or a conservative. Which means he's not a patriot...which means he's a liberal...which means he's a terrorist sympathizer...which may very well qualify him as an ENEMY of America and a TERRORIST. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
  6. ...with just a hint of the good 'ol fear rhetoric that we've been hearing for eight years now. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
  7. It's the "fear the darkies" garbage like this that makes a neutral like myself (I like Ron Paul and still do) root for Obama. Good job sir -- from my point of view, you achieved the opposite of what you were aiming for. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
  8. While I think Bill Maher is intelligent and oftentimes funny, he goes out of his way to mock peoples' faith, which I find very distasteful. A couple weeks ago I was at a friend's house watching his show and a guest mentioned that he achieved his fame by means of faith. Maher was quick to attack this fellow's faith and make a mockery of it. It's his show and all, but personal faith is something that many take seriously and to make light of someone else's faith for no apparent reason is disrespectful and rather uncouth, IMO. After having watched that it's hard for me to give any credence to what he says anymore (and I am not a Christian nor an adherent to any religion for that matter). 9. Got a source/cite? Thx. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
  10. LOL thanks for the laugh man. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
  11. Bravo, I agree 100%. There's nothing wrong with asking questions, no matter how absurd, and I applaud you for it (honestly). So along those lines, I have a question: Is Dick Cheney a shape-shifting reptilian? Bush for that matter??!! Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
  12. I could swear this is like the 20th time I've seen you post ridiculous generalizations regarding cat vs. dog people. Looks like someone was hurt at one point by a 'cat guy.' If that's what fuels your bias, you might want to work on getting over that. One thing I noticed about "dog people" is that many of them have a beef with "cat people." I haven't noticed such prejudices in any "cat people" that I know. But anyway these categories and generalizations are just silly. Humans are much more complex than this and there's good and bad in cat people everywhere, and their qualities overlap. By the way, I love both cats AND dogs with the exception of poodles and Persian cats, and most animals of any species for that matter. I just feel that treating them like/better than people and anthropomorphizing does the animal more harm than good -- and it seems to be happening more and more these days. Pardon if this post seems argumentative (I know the bonfire is supposed to be about hugs and vibes) but it's a topic I happen to have strong opinions on. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
  13. They're everywhere here in NYC, and IMO they're worse than the "crazy cat ladies." They're just more mainstream and accepted, because these days it's pretty much normal to treat your dog like, or better than a human being. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
  14. Very fluffy and bonfire-esque, thank you for your valuable and insighful input. This whole campaign makes sense to me now. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
  15. I noticed that too...remarkable, isn't it. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
  16. Brilliant post. Bravo sir, and thank you. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
  17. No, but you get to see and respond to their comments. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3343232#3343232 This is my problem. Why is it anonymous? ... But why is anonymity involved? ..Any process wherein the players are wholly anonymous creates, in my mind, an issue. ... How can an open process be closed? ... Would you see a problem with openness of peer review? You raise some good questions. Not to derail the thread, but do you think secrecy is more appropriate for government processes like elections (black box voting machines), 911 hearings testimony by our president and VP, energy meetings, etc., or do you find these things just as questionable? Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
  18. I'm curious to hear what your opinion is on the question he asked about secrecy in peer reviews. Mind sharing? Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
  19. Let me know if you need a ride -- I need to bring my rig there for a repack if the six-month thing hasn't gone into effect yet (been too lazy to check and haven't jumped in a while). Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
  20. I don't feel sorry for him either. I do feel sorry for his kid and wife though (and the train conductor who unwittingly hit him). He did the honorable thing because thousands of lives have been turned upside down as a result of poor, greedy decisions on the part of people like him. Assuming he did this out of inability to live with the consequences of his actions, he did the right thing. More guilty finance types should follow suit like lemmings jumping off a cliff and the government should confiscate their assets. That's where we should be getting the bailout money -- not from the middle-class taxpayers. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
  21. So I take it you've traveled extensively in both continents then, eh? Given that, what makes you come to such a conclusion? Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
  22. I just thought I'd add to the mix in light of the economic discussions. Wow, fantastic news! GOD BLESS GUNS AND GOD BLESS AMERICA!!! Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
  23. Video of Sarah Palin answering press questions regarding her extensive foreign policy experience as governor of Alaska. ...... Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
  24. Which is one of the many reasons why I am not a Christian. What people DO is what defines them. What people "have in their heart"...or their "faith" or "intention" is all BS to me. Actions define who you are -- the rest is all bullshit. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
  25. I don't find myself in agreement with your posts often, but here I agree 100%. Higher taxes are the last thing that this country needs right now with the cost of almost every aspect of life going through the roof.
