  1. Are you kidding me? If people can't see that, they're a total moron. Of course we're there to provide benefits to ourselves and allies. I was saying we are doing something just by helping the Iraqi people while in addition helping ourselves and our allies. Ding ding ding, we have a winner. Those people are all heroes to me. I look up to them everyday, even the cop who pulls me over...because he's just trying to make his neighborhood a little safer ,just like I am. I've been saying that from day one. Becuase of the idiocy of letting the UN run its 14 resolution course...well we saw where that went. Who was in charge from 1992-2000? Well, you be the judge of what he should have done w/ Iraq. So, point being, we (US Military) did not kill those people, Saddam did. Should we have intervened years earlier than we did? YEP!! Of course not. I'm just saying that people need to stop freaking out about some idiot w/ a camera while choosing to not give a shit about the insurgent who saws off a girl's head. Both people are idiots and bad, but there are different degrees. Yes they are. The majority of the US military are professional operators. There are bad apples in every group, but they don't make up a large portion of our military. THat's the point I was making. TVPB, I think we are pretty much on the same page, just you misunderstood some of my comments. Maybe I just wasn't clear enough. Thanks for your support, I really do appreciate it.
  2. Are you meaning support the individual troop or just speaking in generalities, i.e. their mission? Doing just fine? Well apparently thousands of murders, rape "parties" and unprecedented government corruption is "fine" to you. Ok, and what are you refering to? Some magical war that I'm not aware of? Where has the US military killed over 400000 people? I think I'm looking forward to this answer.
  3. Actually once the war was relatively underway, many people hated Hitler, in fact, a vast majority of Germany's military were conscripts who only fought so that their families wouldn't be killed. So, I wouldn't say that's huge support. The Iraq war crimes thing...why loose sleep over some idiot in the Army taking pictures of naked prisoners (those people are minimal) when some insurgent is just blowing women and children up in a market? Or some insurgent is slicing a young girls head off with a machete? Or when an insurgent uses a woman as a body shield? Or when insurgents torture people? Or when insurgents blow up a hospital? Or when insurgents use ambulances to transport weapons? Or when insurgents store weapons in mosques? Point being, where is your basis for accusing the American military of war crimes, but not giving two shits about the above actions of the enemy (p.s. only a small list of a much larger one)? I don't need saving; I need to do my job. I am damn important; so just because I'm in the military and do things that you don't understand why I do them does not mean I think I'm not important. I'm doing something for the human race. I'm helping Iraqi people. You can disagree w/ some of the ways Bush has gone about stuff in Iraq, but overall, we are doing nothing but trying to create a stable government for a free country. People are just ignorant of what that country was like under Saddam. It was terrible, so therefore I am helping the human race by helping free those people...now the hard part is creating a strong, stable governemnt to continue to provide freedom.
  4. It still stands, he wants troops "instantly." It takes an incredible amount of work to move masses of equipment and people.
  5. He's just another guy who has no clue about what really goes on. He goes by what his Bush-hatin friends say and the "all-knowing" media. He's just another guy who will never understand what we do, how we do it, and why we do it. Many people just can't get it, he never will, so don't waste your time trying. Stay safe Bryan.
  6. A day late? Well, it takes a shitload more work to move that kind of personnel and equipment then you could ever imagine. You want 7000 troops there in a matter of hours....keep dreaming.
  7. True...if that is the actual case, well then I suppose it is just a case of someone getting screwed. However, bad things happen every day, it's not the President's fault that bad things happen such as this. The situation is a tragedy, but it's not Bush's fault that insurance companies reject him (assuming the above situation you mentioned is true). Well, that's how I took it at first (before his post about medicaid, job moving to mexico, etc). He didn't explain his situation completely in the first post, so it really sounded like what you just said (quote), hence my original accusation of sitting on his ass and expecting handouts...like WAY TOO MANY people in this country. As shitty as the situation is, well, that's the healthcare system. Like you said, it sucks for some, is good for others, and the other way would be the same situation. However, we all know how the system works in America, so if it's so bad, get out and go to a different healthcare system, don't just sit here and complain when it doesn't go your way. I still stand by that. Plus, the title of the thread is "blame Bush." Well, he would still be getting screwed right now if Kerry was in office. So, it's the system and not the President. That's the point.
  8. Well, I understand more, but yeah, medicaid/medicare sucks. Hence your problem. My suggestion is to do what you can to afford "real" health insurance. I understand it can be difficult, but it's not impossible, and for that reason you can make it happen, whilst it's not the President's fault if you don't. I see/hear it all the time, so it's pretty easy to get that impression, but sorry if I was mistaken. You think I jump out of planes and do my job w/o health insurance! Wow, that'd be the dumbest thing ever. So, yes, I know. So did you just not think about health insurance UNTIL you found out about your illness? Point being, in hindsight, it would have been good to get "real" insurance before you knew. I understand that, but they can't do everything for you. They can help for some things, but they can't just give you free medical treatment. That's just not one of the things they do. You knew the rules before you played the game, if you didn't like our health system, you could have gone to Canada or Europe and paid 75% taxes, but then you could have gotten on a 5 yr list to get treated. But hey, hindsight again. True, I'm not in a situation like you, but if something terrible did happen, well, I'll have health insurance at that time, so hopefully I'll be ok.
  9. can anyone provide the actual link to the source? Obviously complete bullshit that the media does this, but not a surprise at all. However, being a skeptic as I am, I want to make sure someone just didn't photoshop the words in there...I know 99% that some d-bag journalist wrote it, but just for kicks, I'd like to confirm.
  10. The Iraqi insurgency is in its last throes. Stupid comment The economy is booming. Have you seen the history since 2000? And I assume you want to pay 50% taxes? Not proven he directly did...he didn't know and until they 100% prove otherwise...well. 7000 troops isn't help?
  11. Vermont - "It is lawful to carry a firearm openly or concealed provided the firearm is not carried with the intent or avowed purpose of injuring a fellow man." If you're carrying a concealed weapon loaded and chambered, walking around downtown...well what exact purpose are you doing that for except for the possible outcome of shooting someone? How it's worded is very questionable; says nothing about being loaded, chambered, etc. I don't think I would push it w/ this law. Alabama - Well, didn't know that one. You can't have them concealed if you LIVE in Denver. If you're "passing" through, i.e. don't have a Denver address, then you're fine...I know .
  12. I hear what you're saying Bill, but the point still stands that it doesn't matter if he's at the WH, Crawford, or my backyard...he can still do his job just the same. And people getting mad b/c they see a pic of Bush weeding, well that's just ridiculous no matter what. The guy can spend a few hours weeding, and if something happens, well, he'll know in about 1.3 seconds and be inside figuring out what to do. So no, there's no problem w/ the guy taking a mental break for a while (even if that's a bike ride).
  13. I feel for him, but I don't feel for him sitting on his ass and bitching while he does nothing to help himself at the same time expecting someone else to do it for him.
  14. Again, it's a capitalist society...if he can't get a normal job and work to pay health insurance, well then short of getting some kind of institute to help him, he's screwed. I'm saying that instead of sitting on his ass at home and complaining about how Bush screwed him, he could go out and bust his ass to find a job and thus be able to afford health insurance. I have no sympathy for the sluggish who just complain.
  15. There's actually been a movement for a long time to get a nationally recognized CCW permit. It's just not big and doesn't really have the support to go far, at least for now.
  16. That's bull. Every state requires a permit for concealed carry. You can legally conceal a weapon in your vehicle, home, or business (if you're the owner) without a permit, but to carry it around on your person, you must have a permit.
  17. Why do so many people (not just you GTA) have such unrealistic expectations of a human being? You expect Bush to work 24/7/365...IMPOSSIBLE. He needs rest, just like you, me and everyone other living thing on Earth. So, based on your opinion, we're all lazy asses because we come home at night and take off the boots for a while, or GASP, take time away. If you don't do those things, your body won't recharge and you're doomed. To be physically and mentally healthy, you need breaks, you need rest, and if that break is doing some yardwork (oh by the way, the SAME yardwork that all of us "lazy asses" do...how dare us), then so be it. I don't want Bush sitting in the Oval Office barely able to stay awake.
  18. This is a capitalist society, not a socialist one. It's your duty to get off your ass, work, and pay for health insurance/care or find a company that provides it. Even Big O Tires provides health insurance. Sorry, but you need to stop expecting handouts from the government and make things happen on your own. Sorry about your illness, I do truely hope you can find a way to help yourself, however don't expect others to do it for you, you gotta push yourself. So, in short, it's not the President's fault you don't have health insurance, it's your lack of proactiveness. And as mentioned before, people can't predict wx like you want them to, even a president. So once again, it's not the President's fault that Katrina came ashore and destroyed a ton of stuff.
  19. Incredibly far from the truth...but man that'd be cool.
  20. Incredibly well put. Nothing more that I can say...
  21. Obviously we are a self sufficent country and would rather remain so. So, what Scottish said is completely on track. But, I understand where that frustration is coming from, J0nes.
  22. fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you, and fuck you...crap, guess I hit the quota! Oh dear God, time for my "talking to."
  23. So shall what be done? Who we're we talking about?
  24. She's doing nothing more than using her son's death as a means to further her political agenda. It's sickening. If my mom did that, I'd hope somewhat would knock some sense into her...luckily my mom has respect for me and what I do. But as far as what to do...ignore her. The only reason she's being such a pain in the ass is because the media (both sides) is empowering her to do so. Everyone stop paying attention and she'll fade away.
