A camera flyer at our DZ made a attachment for his Batrac that put a 10-15 degree pitch on it . I will see if i can get a picture of it and upload it later.

I jump with a Sidewinder but i would like to add the ability to take stills . I don't need a full faced helmet but i would like some versatility for different cameras, With my Sidewinder i am stuck with the same camera for ever.
-
I am looking for some information on this camera helmet .Likes or Dislikes.

I hate to think that i am the only one here at DZ .com that has cut away from a Cobalt ,It spun up about five times with one riser about 3" lower than the other one which caused a spinning and diving canopy, probably from grabbing the risers on deployment ,Don't do that ! I have some cool video of it.

Rhino is slightly overloading his Diablo but only slightly. A/R recommends a max wing loading of 1.5 .

What does riser length have to do with it?
imdskydiver replied to airdrew20012001's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
For me, shorter risers increased the front riser pressure , I think that i get more leverage with them set higher, Other than that i have found no difference. -
Mike . I have a set of 18" risers i might be willing to trade you for those a/M PC1 batteries .

What kind of video camera do you use?

Sony PC1 in a Sidewinder. -
Jay , you are right , My web site is gone, It could be that it is about 5 or 10 times bigger than the 5 Mb they allow me. Maybe they check that shit from time to time.
-
Jay , I thought that you tried the wolmari pack and then went back to a regular Pro Pack , What's up with that ?

My wife told me i would be too chicken to jump out of a plane so i got up early the next morning and made a jump. "Nobody calls me a chicken" So now i'm never home on the weekends and love to travel without her . I think she regrets her comments now.

Processor speed is over rated. Is a 400 mhz pentium P111 processor faster than a 400 mhz Pentium P1 processor, You bet it is ! The same holds true for Mac's , Why are Mac's better at Graphics ? Could it be that they process graphics faster !

It could be that you are relaxing your arch a little more while initiating your turn .

I had a Diablo with 170 jumps on it and the steering lines were 3 3/4 " shorter than the new ones i replaced it with , The dam thing was a bitch to land before i got the new lines and a dream to land after i got the new ones installed , I guess that i am still a little paranoid .
-
"By 500 jumps, the steering lines will be 4 to 6 inches shorter than when they were new. This is like flying final approach with 1/4 brakes." My question is when should i replace my lines , Should i wait till 500 jumps or maybe 250-300 jumps when they would only be out of trim by half that much . I fly a cobalt 120

I saw a couple of articles on the net about the mantis position, The first one described it as just like the box position and then bring your hands down 6 - 10" in front of your chin, This would keep a good arch in your shoulders with a good fall rate , The second one described it like laying down on the floor with your hands under your chin as if you were watching TV, then just bring your forearms and hands down and lay them on the floor, To me this would give your shoulders quite a bit of cupping and a much slower fall rate, Which way is best or gives you more control ?

I have seen a prototype of the Lotus fold up , De-flate from the right side , Re-inflate and then collapsing the left side then re inflate again, It was lightly loaded ! A valve system didn't work on that occasion , One might also argue that a normal non air locked canopy would have crashed ?
-
Good answer ! But nobody asked me those questions when i bought my first elliptical, Only how many jumps i had and it wasn't much .
-
He was quite upset that we wouldn't sell one to him considering that he'd already "proven" that he could "handle" it. At what point would you sell him one (# of jumps)

I have a Cobalt 120 and it is the best canopy that i have flown to date, I don't think that it is any faster than my Diablo 135 but it is far faster than the Saber 150 that i borrowed for a jump last weekend .
