I jumped a Hornet 150 this weekend , It took slightly less than 3 sec. from p/c toss till the slider was all the way down ,(video jump) My h-mod Cobalt takes about 5-6 sec.

Comp Cobalt 2 week review
imdskydiver replied to kansasskydiver's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Is the 28" F-111 or ZP? Quote It is an F-111 that is less than 2 years old and less than 200 jumps on it , -
Comp Cobalt 2 week review
imdskydiver replied to kansasskydiver's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I ordered a 24" ZP pilot chute for my Cobalt 120 , It fit so loose in my spandex pouch that i took it out and went with the old 28" that came with my Mirage , I can not tell the difference between the two , My canopy opens just as good with the larger pilot chute. -
you must have missed the point i made abou it being a 170^2 parachute. there are signifigant differences between the 170^2 and the 120^2, which is a crossbraced competition canopy Quote I have not jumped anything that big for a while , My cobalt is a 120 with an H-Mod but last year it was a plane old stocker and in my opinion was still a better choice, My Heatwave is a 135 so they are fairly similar in size , My Cobalt opens much better and yes i have had a cutaway on it, just 2 weeks ago but it is a highly loaded canopy and sometimes shit happens , I like to do 270 front riser turns and transition to double fronts to finish off , This is easy on the Cobalt and very hard on the heatwave, it dives hard but does not stay in a dive long enough for me and it builds up too much pressure in double fronts , but it carves nicely,

save yourself the trouble. i had one, i won't get into details. get a Heatwave of a X-Fire2. I have a Heatwave and a Cobalt and i think the Cobalt is by far a superior canopy .

Just my theory, but they have fluctuations in orders. When they are slow, they can get them out fast, when they are busy, they get backed up. If they hire more staff when they are busy, then they will either be paying people to do nothing when they are slow, have to fire the extra staff, or increase the cost of their rigs (a lot) to pay people to do nothing when it is slowQuote For every customer that is unhappy waiting 26 weeks they loose another potential customer and their competition gains another one . Hire more people and increase market share !

I will give you $100.00 plus shipping !

I would like to get into bird man jumps , I have 2 rigs , 1 - with a cobalt 120 / H-Mod and the other with a Stiletto 120 both at about 1.7 W/L .I have an opportunity to trade the Stiletto for a Spectre 120 , Would this be a suitable canopy for Bird Man jumps or should i go with something bigger,Does anyone have experience with a Spectre loaded at about 1.7

I do hop and pops every weekend after deploying students , I find that my cobalt opens just fine ,Most of the time i do 7 - 10 sec. tracks on a down wind run but I always bleed off some speed and have better openings , I have done a few by opening straight off the step and the few times that i did times it took a long time to open and had some pretty bad line twists, so i guess you need to build up some speed for it to open well , With a 5-10 sec delay you should experience be no problems.

Mirage and Atair have different issues to deal with when it comes to pilot chutes , Does size really matter !
-
I am looking to get a new pilot chute with a freefly handle ,A jim cazer pilot chute is not an option for reasons that i will not get into , so I am looking for the smallest pilot chute i can get down to 22" , Mirage sells a 26" zero P and RW sells a 25" Zero p, Can anybody tell me if the RW freefly handle is compatible with the Mirage and does zero P produce more drag than a f 111 .

An observation that i have made while re-packing my parachute (pulling it out of the bag by the bridle )was that on single wrapped stows the bag snapped from one stow to the next and on the double wrapped stows the the bag would spin and then snap to the next stow. (3" stows double wrapped with small rubber bands )This maybe a good reason for a canopy spinning up on opening . On the other hand i could be totally wrong !

680K Pixels Gross vs.1070K or 1550 Mega Pixels Gross ? Video Actual Resolution ,340k , 690k,970k, ? Lens diameter 30 mm or 37mm, ? Horizontal Lines of Resolution 500, 520 , 530, Night shot vs, super night shot ? Steady shot or super steady shot ? It all gets pretty confusing , That is why i asked your opinion , I have been using a PC1 in a sidewinder for the last 2 years, This year i went with a flat top camera helmet and am looking for a TRV style camera to go with it ,
-
"Quade " I would be interested in finding out why you would spend so much money on your still camera and then consider a TRV 19 which is at the very bottom of the price range for digital video . It's not that i think the TRV 19 is a bad camera but there are lot of better ones out there . Just trying to get your thought on it .

Check out the reviews for the TRV 19 here : [url] http://www.camcorderinfo.com/d/Reviews&level_b=Camcorder&level_c=Sony&level_d=MiniDV.htm

I tried that link, and was happy to see it did say it had a LANC port. Then I saw it was a link for a TRV 38. Oops! QuoteOops ! I was comparing the two when i sent the address ,I guess i sent the wrong one .

I just had a good laugh !

Is the picture under your profile a naked crew jump ? I didn't think i saw any kind of 4'9" bridle when i took that picture !
-
I just got my Cobalt back from Joe Bennet with the nose mod ,Jumping doesn't start here for another month , so i can't comment on it yet , unfortunately over the winter i lost about 15 lbs which may be enough to make the mod un noticeable . I will have to slap on some weights to get the full benefit .

Maybe you heard it wrong , It could be a Flat top pro, or a bat-rak , "full rak or 1/2 rak"
