  1. He loads it at 1.66 so i guess that would make him about 175 lbs. He has handled it very well but the question here is , 150 jumps from Monarch 170 to Alpha 104, Don't you think that is quite a transition !
  2. Last year a friend of mine bought a Alpha 104 , He had about 150 jumps and his last canopy was a Monarch 170, He was told by Sky Depot that the Alpha does not even get into the High performance range until you hit the 1.7 range, Well he jumps the canopy and finds that an Alpha at 1.6 wing loading was really a very fast parachute and really needed to be respected, Way , Way faster than his Monarch 170, To date he has put about 150 jumps on it and has handled it very good, He is one of the few that an make the transition and live to tell about it , But where were the Ethics in selling a 104 to someone with only 150 jumps.
  3. I called skytools and was told that to date they have not found a way to install it in a SidewinerO2 , So i came up with a way on my own , First i melted the plastic off of the Lanc plug till i had bare wires bent the wires down 90 Degrees and re soldered them , I then used 5 min . epoxy to hold it all together. I drilled a hole through the sidewinder logo and installed the controller by using epoxy and glueing it from the inside, It stick out about 1/8" and is very easy to get at. I installed the light in the lower right hand side of the visor between the shell and liner , For a site i just use a binder ring glued to the visor . I am very happy with the results . I also managed to install a NPFS 21 battery without binding up the door, and they said that they didn't think that could be done .
  4. I think the question here is if it is a good canopy for someone with 100 jumps , Unless the pilot has a lot of talent then i think the question is no ! It is true that the Diablo does not have the glide of a Stiletto on straight in approaches and can be stopped quickly . (Good for emergency landings) Carving turns are much faster and surf just as well as a Stiletto. Hard Toggle Turns need to be terminated 20-30 deg. early as the canopy will keep turning that far, unless it counter steered .
  5. If you are looking for a forgiving canopy i do not think the Diablo is for you , It turns very fast dives steep and has a fair amount of oversteer. As for the openings mine opens great and does not have that loooooooooooong long snivel.
  6. What is the best way to install the CamEye11 in a sidewinder 2, The Lanc plug sticks out past the door by about 1/4" . I have a Sony PC1 and the port is in the front of the camera,
  7. I half hitched my finger while releasing my brake lines and had it trapped tight against the ring . The pain was unbelievable to the point where i thought i was going to loose the top portion of my finger, I reached up with the other hand above the ring and pulled down enough to release the pressure and remove my finger, Now that is what i call a "finger trap" !
  8. I have a sony PC1 with a npfs-11 battery, It was dead before we got to altitude ( IT was -12 C) What is the operating temperature for this battery and how many video shots can i expect to get out of a single charge through it's temperature range.
  9. I have a Z1 and love it but just ordered a oxygen video helmet which i have not received yet , While looking around i found that Pier -1 can install a aluminum video cage for the Z1 , I would be interested in to hear from someone that has installed one.
  10. I bought a PC1 thinking i would like to do video, But after receiving it and putting it alongside my helmet i couldn't help think that it stuck out a lot, and might be a potential snag for risers, I thought about a freefly helmet and a d-box but ended up ordering a sidewinder , It looked like it had a smother contour with less chance for snags , Did i make a mistake ? I don't wear glasses and don't do much VRW,
  11. Any positive or negative comments on Sky Systems X-Jacket and a sony PC1
