    Just to point out that the right side of the aisle apparently has a problem with adult consensual sexual relations. So much so that they can use them to justify the overlooking of one of their own's liberties with a minor that was intrusted into their care. I can't decide which I think is worse, Foley's actions or those of his apologists. I think I'm leaning toward the latter.

Ah, yes.. like what is found on DU, moveon and commondreams, right? BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!! Just for the record, liberal isn't even on the radar screen anymore. The Dems are basically "Republican light". As for the reasoned discourse, real libs can still do it but they're so pissed off these days that it's a rarity. They're too busy bitching about not being heard on the "Liberal" (corporate owned) media.

Actually I wouldn't know. I just wanted to throw out a word that might make someone actually use a valid reference source for a change I do have one serious question though, what's considered "liberal" these days? With where the line is drawn lately even Pat Buchanan sounds like a "lib" from time to time.

    Perhaps, but the low brow nature of these types of thread topics tend to lend themselves to joking about it anyway. I'm always amazed at the all or nothing nature of the majority of posters and how wound up they get on oversimplified discussions. It must be the conditioning, but what should you expect when our own leadership reduces discussions to: With us or against us, Flip Flop, They hate freedom, The 'Merican people are safer, and lots of other snippits in the past week that are just short of "nuh uhhh". But I see your point. Let us hope that no matter how stupid our leadership and media get that we here in SC can remain the beacon of stimulating intellectual discourse that is the envy of the world......nay......the bonfire!!!!!

    I really don't know. I have no idea how much intermingling there is between Sunni and Shia but I do know that the divisions between the two are often very very deep so I don't think it's out of the question that some public areas, markets etc. are almost exclusively one or the other.

    Easy...........Insurgents hit military targets. Terrorists just seem to blow up shit randomly. In certain parts of the country Insurgents take great care to NOT harm the civilian populace. The shit head terrorists in Baghdad often TARGET the civilian populace. On the street...........who cares.........shoot the ones that shoot at you. So all the killing being done between Sunni and Shia is done by terrorists? Or is there a third group of civil warriors that we should categorize?

    I can tell you with authority that I fought terrorists in Iraq. They're there. I'm not disputing that they're there............now. We spent a lot of money cultivating them. But just out of curiousity, and I'm serious, how do you tell the difference between an insurgent and a terrorist?
