  1. Glad to see your priorities are in order. And I've got no crow to eat. You seem to think that because a criminal isn't guilty of every crime that they're somehow innocent. Waaaaaaiiiiiit a minute. It just hit me, sorry I'm slow. But am I wrong or are YOU doing backflips in the aisles over a story that NEWSWEEK broke?
  2. I agree to a certain extent and replied to your other post on this here, realistically in the wrong thread: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2411960;#2411960
  3. Agreed, but this site does actually provide a more balanced argument and it actually provides links, references, pictures, maps etc. along with the differentiation of Israeli and Zionist. It also does mention that there is indeed the Palestinian equivalent of the Zionist and points out, rightly so, that in a conflict like this you will certainly have those who are hardcore types. So yes, look at the information and realize that it's coming from a biased source but also consider way it's presented, cited. We had long discussion that was aimed at condeming UNIFIL and it took us most of the post to figure out, if we even did, where the author's claims were based. I'm just glad that we have the opportunity nowadays to hear the argument as provided by both sides instead of just getting one handed to me by the likes of Clearchannel.
  4. Maybe because there's no case here? Just a wild guess considering the Dems want to undermine everything the Admin. does whether it's founded in reality or not. No case?!!?? And what wild guess? He specifically stated that there was an executive order that stated that they could declassify information. First of all I'm not sure that anyone but the classifying agency can declassify their information. Secondly, he was asked if he had ever done it unilaterally. He said "I don't want to get into that". I'd say that's a damn good question. I think it would be nice to know if the VP is flying solo with regard to execising powers that even the President probably doesn't have.
  5. Yep. IT is. All facts, mind you, but that's my point.. Here are some more facts, in case some are interested in broadening their perspective on the debate. http://www.palestineremembered.com/Acre/Palestine-Remembered/Story417.html
  6. Ah, so this argument has now boiled down to semantics. To be a country, you must have a formal government, which the Palestinians didn't have. But, they did have a homeland in which they raised their families. This homeland was supposed to be protected by the British Mandate, but wasn't. That's what I'm seeing, now. I stumbled across this site yesterday. I'm still trying to sift through it, there's a lot of information, maps, pictures, etc. Unfortunately I also have a job so it may take me a while. Here's the link if you folks are interested. http://www.palestineremembered.com/index.html
  7. Wow. That's a bit one sided donchathink? First, did the UN partition plan ever get implemented? The BBC says "no" but that it was proposed, not accepted and then the Brits just left. I need to check up on that one. Secondly, do you blame the resident Palestinians for resisting the land grab? Thirdly, you forgot the massive looting and killing at the hands of the Israelis while they implemented the first wave of their expansion outside of their UN mandate and before they started their decades long policy of completely disregarding everything that the UN recommended, the very body that made their existence possible in the first place. Geez, and people wonder why the Palestians (of which there are 18 less in the last two days thanks to Israel's military, who promises to look into it) are so bitter.
  8. You could have saved yourself a lot of trouble and just said "they hate freedom". Get that down and you may even get to be president, well not president but certainly secretary of defense
  9. I will concede there there was no "country" with a centralized government called Palestine that had one of the wondertwin rings with the League. I'll still hold to the notion that there was region called Palestine that was occupied by people who called themselves Palestinians and who were forcibly displaced by the hand of God's squatters when he/she established the nation of Israel via a UN proxy.
  10. "inhabitants of Palestine". There's that "P" word again. So basically Israel was a nation established within the borders of Palestine and Israel was supposed to respect the Palestinian inhabitants within the borders of Israel. That sound about right?
  11. And Israel's divine conception is different/superior how? The notion that the people who lived on that land had no claim to it because the Lady of the Lake lobbed a sword at Israel and made them King sounds pretty lousy to me.
  12. Even I disagree with that statement. He avoided Vietnam, and got his arrest record sealed. He managed to get his rich buddies to buy him the presidency, and his decision to invade Afghanistan was correct (even though he bolloxed up the occupation leading to our current difficulties there). He's done a wonderful job of using the Treasury to pay back all of his campaign contributors, except for Wall St of course. I'm sure he's still working on that one.
  13. So you don't think that western influence has had anything to do with the course of their development? One question, let's say that Iran didn't have any evidence of nuclear ambitions but decided that they were going to sell all of their oil to China and absolutely none to the US. How long do you think it would take the US to find a reason to invade or before their leadership was overthrown and replaced with a pro-western president?
  14. I'm not sure and that's one of the problems that I have with the article, a deeply biased author and no references. That aside this is the only site I'm aware of that gives specific reports, like this one: 8. Meanwhile, some of the heaviest fighting of the month-long conflict occurred during the 48-hour period prior to the cessation of hostilities coming into effect. Israel Defense Forces (IDF) intensified shelling and aerial bombardment across Lebanon. Hizbollah launched a barrage of rockets into northern Israel. The two sides exchanged heavy fire on the ground, in particular in the area of Bayyadah, Al Jibbayn and Tayr Harfa in the western sector, and Mays al Jabal and Markaba in the central sector. 9. In the midst of the escalation of fighting in the final hours leading up to the cessation of hostilities, UNIFIL personnel endured 85 IDF-fired artillery shells impacting directly inside several positions, 35 in the area of Tibnin alone, in addition to 10 air-to-ground rockets and 108 artillery rounds landing in the immediate vicinity of these and other United Nations positions, including the UNIFIL headquarters in Naqoura. UNIFIL very fortunately did not suffer casualties but a number of positions sustained significant material damage. The mission strongly protested to IDF command throughout the period in question. 10. UNIFIL also strongly protested to the Lebanese authorities one incident of a Hizbollah-fired rocket impacting directly inside a UNIFIL position in the area of Ghanduriyah. The impact caused material damage but no casualties. 11. On the heels of this intensive fighting, the guns on all sides fell silent at 0500 hours GMT on 14 August, as agreed. http://www.un.org/Depts/dpko/missions/unifil/unifilDrp.htm
  15. Just didn't want anyone to miss the last sentence. "Lori Lowenthal Marcus is president of the Zionist Organization of America, Greater Philadelphia District."
  16. More of a dirty blond with a late 70's, early 80's southern rock perm. Not that Nightranger or Cinderella crap.
  17. Must be a sad (delusional) world you live in........ Fixed it. Face it, the terrorists have won.
  18. This is from the dissenting judge's opinion, posted in the second link I included. Judge Donald Lay found the majority's reasoning faulty and issued a strong dissent. "Notwithstanding the fact that claimants seemingly suspicious activities were reasoned away with plausible, and thus presumptively trustworthy, explanations which the government failed to contradict or rebut, I note that no drugs, drug paraphernalia, or drug records were recovered in connection with the seized money," Judge Lay wrote. "There is no evidence claimants were ever convicted of any drug-related crime, nor is there any indication the manner in which the currency was bundled was indicative of drug use or distribution." "Finally, the mere fact that the canine alerted officers to the presence of drug residue in a rental car, no doubt driven by dozens, perhaps scores, of patrons during the course of a given year, coupled with the fact that the alert came from the same location where the currency was discovered, does little to connect the money to a controlled substance offense," Judge Lay Concluded.
  19. I don't think it's necessary to kick him out, considering that he essentially left when he decided not to support the man who his party endorsed. That said, what's with the title of the thread? Looks kinda FOXy if you ask me.
