I'm in agreement. We need to tear up the check book and see who's really serious about making peace.

sorry, there's no 'law' that says that when an enemy attacks you, you have to only engage in a tit for tat response. You can do whatever the fuck you want. Actually apparently there are some laws that apply. I was reading about it on the Human Rights Watch website and they made some pretty specific references. I'd look it up but as I said in my previous post, I'm in dial up hell. Plus I can't spend too much time doing this tonight because I have to repack my chute and get ready for the weekend.
-
So you're saying that the Gaza settlemets were legal? According to whom? Also, I didn't forget but I have dial up at home and looking this stuff up here sucks. In answer to your question about Israeli incursions into Lebanon they occurred nearly every day since Israel pulled out. Mostly in the form of low supersonic passes with corresponding supersonic booms into Lebanese airspace. Some might call that terrorizing or provoking someone else. They are all recorded, excuse me, were recorded by the UNIFIL outpost that Israel deliberately blew up a few weeks ago. http://www.un.org/Depts/dpko/missions/unifil/unifilDrp.htm

what are you talking about? i don't know of any 30K/yr anyone is getting, but even if, what does it have to do with anything>? My understanding is that the households in the Gaza settlements were receiving $30,000/yr from the government. Supposedly the money that we sent you was not supposed to be used for that but I know how that goes. Also, my understanding is that the people in those illegal settlements who were receiving that money also received $300,000 each when they were told to leave Gaza. My point is to illustrate that you have people who are being paid to live in illegal settlements yet Israel won't compensate the Palestinians for the land that they took. If it were me I'd be angry too.

Give this a read. It pretty much sums things up. I haven't bought it yet but it's on my list. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0805078614/sr=1-1/qid=1155932261/ref=pd_bbs_1/102-2857292-8215353?ie=UTF8&s=books

Just a reminder, Saudi's and Pakistani's who trained in Pakistan (you know, where OBL is probably hanging out) attacked us in 2001. And where was it again that the terrorists recently arrested in London came from, trained in? C'mon....starts with "P" and get's lots of money from the US treasury...work with me here.

its not an "implied assertion" its fact. I guess it depends on when you start the clock. Israel has pulled out of lebanon more than 6 years ago and even the UN who is anything but pro israeli has recognized it. in the past 6 years Hezbollah with the aid of Iran and Syria has been arming itself to the teeth (shooting every now and then), the fact that they crossed into israel in an act of war is ,well, a fact. They supposedly crossed the border and kidnapped those two soldiers so they could bargain for three that Israel refused to release. But they did kidnap them, no argument. And it was the trigger for Israel to launch their premeditated war that was vastly disproportionate and violated numerous international laws and the Geneva conventions. Fact. the same goes for Gaza, Israel has pulled out completely but rockets didn't stop flying out of there. And the missiles never quit flying into Gaza either the sheba farms was a part of syria, not lebanon and its future, much like the Golan will be determined in peace talks with syria (althoguh based on the Syrian militaristic speech a few days ago i'm not sure it will happen anytime soon) Hezbollah is using the Sheba farms as an excuse to justify its existance, if it wasn't that it would have been something else and beside, even if you insist that the sheba farms are lebanese, its status should be discussed with the lebanese governmrnt, not Hezbollah. Hmm...so to summarize...Israel is occupying land that's not theirs and they'll supposedly give it up when the peace talks come. Seems to me that if no peace talks come then you don't have to draw up a border, vacate the land.....with the winery... and the ski resort.... and the water supply.....and the.......oh wait. I have one more question. Do the west bank settlers get the same $30,000/yr that the Gaza settlers got?

I don't by that for a second. He made a mistake during trying to make up a word and happened to come up with a word that is a perfect insult for the gentleman it was aimed at? Did you guys miss the part where I posted that his mother grew up in a North Africa? I don't for a second think that his choice of words was an accident. Edited to add: Here's a write up on Bill O'Reilly's favorite website. http://mediamatters.org/items/200608170001?src=other

I have a problem with your implied assertion that "they" crossed the border first and that Israel hasn't been doing it on a regular basis. There is no "first". In addition, what about Shebaa Farms in Lebanon? Golan?
-
I know, and it was only the vice-president. Best I could do on short notice.
-
I'm voting for Webb. Allen's been a cancer on this state. Actually, I'll be using a Diebold machine so I have no idea who I'm voting for
-
HUME: Let me ask you another question. Is it your view that a vice president has the authority to declassify information? CHENEY: There is an executive order to that effect. HUME: There is. CHENEY: Yes. HUME: Have you done it? CHENEY: Well, I've certainly advocated declassification and participated in declassification decisions. The executive order — HUME: You ever done it unilaterally? CHENEY: I don't want to get into that.

I'll agree that many of them probably want us dead. We obviously disagree on the why. I'll stick with my resistance to oppression logic and leave the other theories to the Templars.

I'm sure it will get about the same attention as the Biden slur. "In Delaware, the largest growth of population is Indian Americans, moving from India. You cannot go to a 7/11 or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking.” Sen. Joseph Biden-(D-Delaware) Poor way to illustrate his point, agreed. The same singling the only dark skinned guy out, mocking him in front of his buddies with a racial slur and the "welcome to America"? I'd say "no". I hope this seriously hurts his career. It probably won't though. People seem to have forgotten about the Confederate flag and hangman's noose that he used to have hanging in his office.
-
Interesting. Where exactly are your borders again?
-
He knew what he said. If this doesn't get at least the same attention as "the Dean scream" that permeated the "liberal media" then there's no justice in this world.
-
I've never ignored it. By the way, do you know why we were attacked? Personally, when I have an ailment I prefer to treat the problem, then the symptoms go away. If you treat the symptom then you still have the problem. However, my guess is that you think (insert buzz term war cry) "islamofascism" is the problem. I think that people want to kill us because we fuck with them on a regular basis. We also have this cultural imperialsm thing going on. The Native Americans were free to live with us so long as they adopted our ways. Now we seem to think, because of our petroleum based lifestyle, that the middle east should transform to our liking, and that we should "liberate" these hethens from what is sold as their backassward way of life. I say that if you fuck with other people you shouldn't be pissed off or suprised when they fight back.
-
He prefers the terms "transform" and "liberate" and "protecting our interests".
-
Well then don't get pissed when thousands more Americans die in your and FOX's holy war (you know all the buzz words, "evil", "islamofascism" "WWIII", etc.). One question, do you think the Romans saw it coming? From "American Theocracy": ..every world-dominating power has been brought down by an overlapping set of problems: a foolish combination of global overreach, militant religion, diminishing resources, and ballooning debt In the meantime, you should go buy yourself a hybrid car. You'll need it.
-
What do you think the people in the middle east think of Bush's rhetoric about transforming the middle east? Secondly, do you think that his rallying war cry posturing has anything to do with the bullseye that Bush put on Iran? Threatened people tend towards self preservation no? What do you expect him to do, just say "oh, ok. King George wants us to kiss his ass and do whatever he wants.....ummmmm....okidoke!" If I were him I'd be preparing for war. It's the only sane response to the threat.
-
Fixed it for ya. You could have just added your comment. No need to negate mine.
-
Well, considering that it's apparently a racial slur referring to North African blacks and Allen's mother was born and raised in Tunisia.........he used it twice and threw in "welcome to America" to the American campaign worker.....I'm pretty sure he knew what he was saying and was caught up in the moment while posturing for his good old boy network.

There are quite a few references to administrative detention in the news and at the UN website. The best description regarding the policy I found so far was from Amnesty International. http://web.amnesty.org/pages/isr-action-detention

I never said that Israel attacked the nation. I said that they blew up most of the infrastructure over the entire state. That affects the entire nation and the tactic has backfired. Hizbollah has plenty of support, probably more than they had a month ago. And with their rebuilding efforts and charity efforts they are the only ones who are showing that they give a shit about Lebanon, (do ya think the Lebanese consider them terrorists?).The US was complicit in the destruction. We knew it was coming for almost a year and we delayed the international response AND rushed to send MORE bombs so that Israel could inflict more damage. So I guess we should look on the bright side. Time to go out and buy some more defense contractor stocks. We just made even more enemies.
