My saving grace has been the eight or so IMAX films that I got on Amazon.com. My 2yr old loves them, as does daddy. I'm thinking that Pixar has something though. Nemo can be watched numerous times but my son would rather read Curious George than to watch the movie. Haven't tried Bambi yet. We'll probably have to discuss the second amendment before we watch that one. "See son.....this is why the Framers wanted us to have guns.......Protein!"

Great reply. I'm printing it out to give it a good once over. Funny thing is, when I went to print it I got three sheets that came out before I got the text. Each had the header: "This is not your document"

And they'll probably have pleny of examples of how it was done, such as those listed in the Conyers report of the 2004 Ohio election. Or, quite possibly, there will be no record at all. If you want a tutorial on how to do it, watch this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=O0cxSJwG9Q0 Thanks for proving my point!!!!! No, thank you! You just proved that your opinions are fixed and that you're not interested in hearing anything that migh contradict it. You replied within two minutes of me sending you a nine minute video

And what was out of context? He was criticizing MJF by essentially accusing MJF of allowing people to see what Parkinsons does to people, as if that's somehow an act of deception. It's like criticizing someone with a bullet wound to the skull by saying "Look! He's trying to gain pity by taking the bandage off so we can see the wound". Rush is a loudmouthed asshole who has no sense of morality or decency and prides himself on his ability to make a living as being an asshole while lowering the level of American discourse to the lowest common denominator. Here's an example, before I heard him I don't think I would have ever said this about a person. I'm generally a compassionate guy who will help anybody but if he was starving to death I don't think I'd offer him the corn in my stool.

Sharks(R) Trying to appear as something their not but their true personality comes to the surface when there's a feeding frenzy to be had. Anybody's fair game. But one point on Marlin. While he certainly had some well founded phobias, he never once asked anybody for anything. He was more of a leave me alone/self sufficient go getter. Lived within his means and wasn't afraid to go after what he valued, his family, without exploiting anyone. Damn near Jeffersonian if you ask me (except for that slave thing). Also, I'd say that the seagulls represented the lobbyists. Dangle a little legislation in front of them and they're on it with earmarks like a flock of gulls on a sack of salteens. They really have nothing to offer yet consume massive resources.

I certainly will agree with that. It also points to the problem that we've created with our health care system. I believe that nearly 1/3 of our health care dollar goes to administration. Canada, on the other hand, spends about 2% for administration. Until we get a handle on the top heavy waste we're not going to fix anything. But how do you get administrators to cut back on administration?
-
How about letting someone like Ross Perot analyze the budget and cut the waste caused by excessive overhead? Then go from there.

Well, Barbara Bush did essentially give us the "let them eat cake" quote......what are we waiting for?

And you don't think that those who abuse the welfare system put that money back into the economy? I'd be willing to bet that nearly 100% of the money that is gained through gaming the welfare system is put back into the local economy. What do you think the percentage of ill gotten gains from government contracts makes it back in, or even into the US for that matter? And no, I don't think that either are ok. The only difference, if someone wanted to spin it in a positive light, would be that in the case of the welfare scam more people would benefit than from the contractor scam. The middle class is the victim either way.

Michael Moore is more honest with the American people than our administration is But about Molly, what's the beef with her other than that she uses verifiable facts and a good memory to make Bush look like naked king that he is?

Except it doesn't work that way. Those who make the $5 million spend $2000 per campaign so that their representatives can insert language into the tax code that enables them to sit in the 40% tax bracket but pay less than 10%, or in some extreme cases 0%. (or in some severe cases of corporate taxes

Let me guess, all those pics of the kids in Africa with the bloated abdomens.....they eating well too? This shows a complete lack of understanding. Answer one question, which food is cheaper and fills you up more and has less nutritive value...the bag of chips or a bag of vegetables? edited to add: Oh yea, calling Limbaugh a dick is an insult to all men. He represents the worst that human kind has to offer. He's centered his life around deceit, arrogance, contempt, hypocrisy and greed. The only thing more pitiful is the fact that some consider his artform "entertainment" or worse yet "informative".

Bush family profits from "No Child Left Behind" Act
idrankwhat replied to Andy9o8's topic in Speakers Corner
Ok, let's see if I can do this. 1) Responsible for record profits for defense contractors. 2) Responsible for record profits for oil industry. 3) Broke apart the three countries that Britain stuck together 80 years ago (don't know if that's a good thing). 3) Proved without a doubt that ANYONE can be President of the United States. 5) Successfully used the Republican party to illustrate that politicians will do anything and everything to stay in power, even if it means peeing on every plank in their party's historical platform. Whew.....man, that was a tough one. -
That reminds me, I loved this one! Bush debating himself http://youtube.com/watch?v=LHB_NRIojho

Only 5 posts into the thread. Gee. Seeing as how the website quoted is at LEAST as partisan as Newsmax.... Did you really expect anyone but the bashers to take it seriously? Damn Libs! Always with the accurate quotes, video, and research! I mean when will they learn to do it *Right*? You write down what the leadership says today, ignore anything that you heard before.....that's it....no thinking.....just repeat what they said. Isn't that soooo much easier ....and Patriotic?

The "winning strategy" was not to go in there in the first place but if you absolutely have to ignore the advice of the military and Bush's dad and his advisors, do it with at least 300,000 troops. But that didn't happen because Rummy's concept of a nuclear tipped ninja army was supposed to be able to do it with 60,000. There are way too many examples of these idiots ignoring advice and/or firing people who did not give them the answers that they wanted when they were searching for the way to get us into this war. The blame goes on primarily on (the short list) Cheney, Rummy and Bush. Giving them a pass and blaming their current advisors for not being able to figure a way out of the mess that the big three made is just plain sad.

I actually thought about it at the time. Seemed like a no brainer. But I didn't do it because I thought it would be pretty lousy of me to bitch about them as being indicative of what I see as one of the core problems in Washington and simultaneously supporting and profiting off of them. I'm a warped character but I have to draw the line somewhere

Sorry, my mistake. Originally I thought that your "do you think we need another government program......" comment was trolling for a dem bash fest...but then I remembered that it's not the Dems who have been increasing the size of government like we haven't seen since FDR Federal govt. spending has gone up approx 7.6%/year under GWB, compared with 4%/year under Clinton's administration. And that's without correcting for inflation. The difference is even more striking if inflation is taken into account. No doubt about it, Bush and the Republicans are spendthrifts. The main difference lies in where they spend it. Dems have a tendency to want to spend it here on the homefront while Cons prefer to spend it through Cayman Island accounts.

Gone are the days when a kid fell of a jungle gym or hurt himself diving after a nerf ball and the complete and appropriate response was "well that was pretty stupid.....dumbass" (I would also like to point out that no dumbasses, real or imagined, were hurt in the creation of this post. Any resemblance to actual events is coincidental. The views expressed in this post do not reflect the views of DZ.com, it's members or affiliates)
