  1. yes to all of the above. I'm sure there is a marketing reason that they delay till the Christmas season, but Post production does take a LOOOONG time, especially with graphic effects intensive movies like this one. I did some business with the company and people that made the hobbit movies - the shooting period was actually pretty short in relation to the total time the movie took. 2. Correct. The guy clearly wasn't cut out to be a cop. Never try to eat more than you can lift

  5. So "your guy" lost the election, you don't agree with the politics of the incumbent, therefore you would like to see him in chains? How very christian of you. More than half of the country disagreed with you. Twice. You should probably do a refresher course on democracy and how it works. More worryingly, you are hoping that the current administration got 4 people killed so you can score political points, which implies you don't really care about the actual victims rather than what they can do for you. Sickening. Never try to eat more than you can lift
  6. This seems to happen rather often, and it always seems to be the most vehemently anti-homosexual people who turn out to be gay. Kind of kills the "its a choice" argument dead. Never try to eat more than you can lift
  7. Was going to start a new thread but this one seems to fit - some Idle musings on a thursday given that I've just started a paragliding course! How do swoop wings and the smallest fastest speedriding wings compare? They seem to be coming at the problem from quite different angles. I guess the speedriding wings would go really well on distance but possibly less so on speed. This for example is the kind of video that got me thinking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sky6sIB1vjc&index=5&list=WL Like I say, just idle musings - I'm not likely to ever fly either of them! 9. Yep - the crap ones, that can't survive in the market without the preferential treatment. Such as some of those provided or backed by the ISP's. ISP's should be a dumb pipe, no more and no less. Never try to eat more than you can lift

  12. I dont give a flying shit what that enormous pyramid scheme thinks. Agreed. I'm particularly amazed that so many people take relationship guidance from a bunch of celibate old men who have absolutely no idea. Never try to eat more than you can lift
  13. Wow. Only in the US could there be a problem with criminals shooting cops wearing body armour, and the body armour is the problem?! Oh yeah that's right, guns don't kill people, body armour does. Maybe next they will ban walls because a criminal shooting you might stand behind one. It would be funny if it wasn't so tragic. 21. It amazes me that the US still uses cheques so much and I've never quite understood why. (there must be a reason?) I haven't owned a chequebook for probably 10 years now and I can't even remember the last time I had to pay one in. I do know that my company's US financial department deals with a lot of cheques and very little online transfers, and the UK and ANZ departments have the opposite. In Australia and NZ we had only one client out of hundreds who paid by cheque. But I digress. Never try to eat more than you can lift
