  1. > I am certainly not saying the UN was perfect, but the article was biased and I think an honest review of these press releases indicates that. Biased or not if the UN was transmitting IDF troop movements or publishing them on the WEB, subjects the UN troops to becoming military targets.
  2. > If he believes the orders to be illegal, it is his duty not to comply with the orders. I must say I agree and it's the duty of others to throw his ass behind bars and strip him of his commission. Reminds me of a young US Soldier from Conroe Texas I believe, somewhere North of Houston who refused to be deployed under the UN. Made it very clear he would only go with the US flag on his uniform and under US command. He spoke with the News Media explaining that he gave an oath to the United States not to the United Nations. Don't recall how that ended, but I believe it was without jail time.
  3. > Now we just need a deck of cards for the Neo-cons and their supporters. Nope, disagree...we get that deck of cards every night on the national news and print media, nothing new there.
  4. > A few days later a rescue boat lands and a crew with supplies gets out. The Texan takes out a gun, shoots the crew and shoots the French guy. Then he empties the gun into the boat's engine. Shooting the French guy might have been justified, however shooting the boat engine is just over the top. That there could have been a good fishing boat, and now he go messing everything up. Must of be one of them there transplant Texeans from the North East.
  5. > Wackos can't put together nuclear bombs. Smart terrorists can - and a fence isn't going to even slow them down, since they won't be walking in. True / True I'm humbled by your wit.
  6. > and contributed 4 children to the pool of young liberals. Yep, but your children know how to read and write and from a previous thread a hell of alot smarter. I hope you and the Mrs. have consider not adding anymore young liberals to the pool, i.e. Grand Children, it's been very difficult competing with you up north and the north east.
  7. > And the ones developing things like nuclear power, the atomic bomb, and our space program. Damn immigrants. Hey, we can keep those, until we start producing more from our schools. Reducing the numbers coming into the country south of the border would be a win / win. Not sure how many of them are developing atomic bombs, but it would be a good thing preventing some wacko from walking across with one on his back.
  8. > Liberalism is an ideology doomed to failure, and this is partially why. It simply cannot sustain itself, ideologically or biologically. I would agree its doomed to failure, however Kelpdiver made a good point that their lack of having off spring, which by the way is a good thing if they are from Berkeley, is offset by immigration. Those individuals coming into the country by the 10's of thousands wanting a Government Hand out.
  9. WSJ OpinionJournal, Arthur C. Brooks Tuesday, August 22, 2006 On the political left, raising the youth vote is one of the most common goals. This implicitly plays to the tired old axiom that a person under 30 who is not a liberal has no heart (whereas one who is still a liberal after 30 has no head). The trouble is, while most "get out the vote" campaigns targeting young people are proxies for the Democratic Party, these efforts haven't apparently done much to win elections for the Democrats. The explanation we often hear from the left is that the new young Democrats are more than counterbalanced by voters scared up by the Republicans on "cultural issues" like abortion, gun rights and gay marriage. But the data on young Americans tell a different story. Simply put, liberals have a big baby problem: They're not having enough of them, they haven't for a long time, and their pool of potential new voters is suffering as a result. According to the 2004 General Social Survey, if you picked 100 unrelated politically liberal adults at random, you would find that they had, between them, 147 children. If you picked 100 conservatives, you would find 208 kids. That's a "fertility gap" of 41%. Given that about 80% of people with an identifiable party preference grow up to vote the same way as their parents, this gap translates into lots more little Republicans than little Democrats to vote in future elections. Over the past 30 years this gap has not been below 20%--explaining, to a large extent, the current ineffectiveness of liberal youth voter campaigns today. In coming years, democratic politicians may have no more babies left to kiss.
  10. > Obsessive secrecy sems to be a hall-mark of this administration, starting with sealing the Reagan/Bush presidential records which was about the first act taken by GWB on assuming office. How did you find that out!!, that was suppose to be a secret.
  11. > Three studies reporting that geniuses (IQ 3+ standard deviations above average) are much less religious than the general public. What was that quote, "Thinking themselves to be wise, they became fools."
  12. > For the people who voted yes I would like to hear the reason why? My guns are safer in my own little hands.

  15. > Now imagine a 28yo who cant and who suffers a major birth defect. Have several friends raising special needs children. They have made financial arrangements over the years to insure there children when they become adults and after mom / dad's passing will have the necessary assets in trust to care for them. Not to difficult to accomplish if you love your children. Not a great deal of money over time to leave a great deal of money to care for their surviving child. Life insurance covers this need in the early years while they accumulate the assets.
  16. Well I've meet John, he is a big man and I'd give him 10-15 minutes. Thats of course if he has to take on everyone in the Bar. With two or three he could still have time for a beer afterwards.

I like that statement, will put that to memory. > The New Left, Cultural Marxism, and Psychopolitics Disguised as Multiculturalism This would be a great college course, I wonder if they teach this class at Berkeley?
