i'm doing a research paper on migrant workers sending money to mexico. while i have found tons of info in the form of percentages and demographics, the one thing i can't seem to find from a solid source is an actual dollar amount. i've found some numbers thrown around, but sourcing for this data is sketchy at best. one artical mentioned that it got it's info from the world bank, but a search of their website showed my just how retarded i am at mining information. it would be a great help if someone could point me in the right direction. also, just to keep it more speakers cornerish, i believe that the mexican goverment encourages workers to come to the us be any means nessecary because the money they send back is important, if not vital to the mexican economy. i did do it skydiving. it was kind of a freak thing. i was at the end of my swoop trying to milk the last few feet. i put my left foot down with my toes pointed a little to the outside (i didn't know i did this at the time, it was just apparent from the damage). i guess everything was lined up just right and i had just enoungh forward speed for my leg to break and my foot to dislocate from my leg bone. the cool thing was that i was going slow enough that my camera didn't pick up any wind noise but you can clearly hear the snapping of bones. funny thing is that all of my pain during the injury and recovery was around my ankle with all of the soft tissue damage there. this is acually the most pain i've felt around the broken bone. thanks to everybody for the input. it sounds like its common to have a bad day every now and then. i agree that if it only hurts once in a while, i'll just deal with it rather than having it removed, but if its a cronic pain, then its got to go. i had some metal installed on my left fibula back in 2002. it looks like monkeycndo's only about 3 times longer. (i don't know how to link to his pic). i've never had any problems until the lately. for about a week or so its been sore, but in the last 2 days it has really started to hurt. i've been skiing or snowboarding once or twice a week for the last 4 weeks and i'm sure that's the cause. my question is, is this pain normal and can the hardware be removed? i'm charting my progress on graph paper. each square up and down is a pound and each square left and right is a week. i weigh myself every monday morning. losing only two pound a week makes my graph drop sharply. it is taped to my bedroom mirror so i can always see my progress. my wife also promised me one week in an all inclusive resort in the carribian next winter if i can get down to 170 pounds. this is very motivating and i highly recommend finding someone to bribe you in this way.
