there's no doubt that a professional team brings benefits to the city and generates additional tax revenue. i believe that some cities even pay for their stadiums with hotel taxes and its the visitors to the city and not even residents that pay the bill. my objection is that the money is certainly there for the team owners to pay for it themselves. my mind could be changed if it could be shown that there is a net positive for the city. i believe that if the money is there, the players deserve to get it, it is a business after all. the problem i have is that tax money pays for a portion of the stadiums. i realize that a pro team does a lot for the city, but so do other businesses. if i wanted to open a restaurant or a store, would the any city offer to foot some of the bill for the building? maybe this happens and i don't know about it. if the owner's of the teams pay for the stadiums themselves or with private money, then players deserve whatever they can negotiate for, but as it stands now, i don't think they should get enormous salaries while the rest of us pay for the buildings they use to earn all of that money. the end of her ear has been swollen for the past few days. while giving her a bath i was massaging it trying to break up the crusty fur when it seemed to break a little. i didn't mess with it any more, but while drying her off, it just fell onto the floor. very weird. she doesn't seem to care though. the vet just gave me some antibiotics and said she should be fine, the rest of her ear looks healthy. she must have gotten bit by something and it got infected, although she was never sore. it was a lot more traumatic for me than it was for her. This trend is good for the people,perhaps not the Repubs. On a more global basis, the Repub congress has show how putridly abhorrent they are by refusing to pass the min wage increase. They truly suck and there is no recovery from that, so the Repubs need to be minimized in our gov and now and I think the American voters see that. last night we bought a 55 gallon aquarium. we looked at the prices for stands and decided that i could likely build one much nicer for less money. i them went to the trusy internet to find aquarium stand plans. i found a beautiful stand and hood and promptly purchased the plans for$15. when i downloaded the plans, it came out a stack of paper over 1/2 inch thick and not even in the right order. the materials list is a list of cut pieces, not a list of raw materials to take to the store. while these plans are good enough to put the project together, it will be a pain in the ass just to get the pages in the right order. i have emailed the place i bought them from explaining why i no longer want to used these plans and politely asked for a refund. i'm afraid i am fucked. oh well, at least its only $15. i wouldn't mind if my college required PE (boise state). if it did, there would likely be classes in rock climbing, wilderness navigation, or kayaking. currently i'm taking classes at mountain home air force base which meet once a week for three hours. most of the time i go to the gym for about an hour and a half before classes. i notice a huge difference in my ability to concentrate between times i work out and times i don't. whether it is required or not it definately help academically.
