I've got a Konica TC from -78 that my dad bought in Lebanon. It's been collecting dust the last 5 years with only sporadic use. Now that I've bought a 350D it would have been nice to use the two lenses I've got for my Konica. The two lenses are: 50mm Konica Hexanon AR F1.7 135mm PANAGOR 2.8 fixed telelens - good for portrait pictures The only info I might enterpit from the lenses is an 55Ø on the 50mm lens. Does it indicate that it's 55mm at the attachmentponit? The real question is this: Does it exist an conversion between these to lenses and my Canon 350D and where can I find it? I couldn't find anything on the web that I understood I've got 3 filters that fits to my Konica lenses that would have been really cool to use on my 350D. We are pretty much at the same spot when I started. I listened to the experienced skydivers and my dealer, and got a 210. Yes it's slow, docile an will(at least I got) get boring after some 50 jumps, But I had a different approach to my CP. I started playing with frontrisers on it early and got coaching by Brian Germain. After that I did 180 hook turns and got some 60ft swoops out of it. And when I got smaller wings above my head, this training payed off. Instead of having a canopy that you don't dare to go on frontrisers on, and wait until you're are at a WL of 1.3, is potentially dangerous. With a 210/190 you may start playing with risers HIGH up first, then progress down to landings after doing a hookturn. But still, if you get low, you'll have plenty of fabric over you to dig yourself out. And you'll need it if you're interested in hook'n because the chance of getting low some time is there. video is video. Reporters usually don't know shit anyway, so all I hear and see is babbel-bla-bla-bla OOh dangerous, one may actually die from this-bla-bla-bla+repeating clips and rapid editing and sound effects. So whether it's in Russian or English, it doesn't really matter as long as the video ok In short; yes plz. You may PM if you want. -

I've encountered the same problem my self. I'm almost the same exitweight as you, but i'm 5'8" There are two options that worked for me to reduce my speed on belly. A cheap overall(the kind used at car repairshop or similar) or a camerasuit. I did some 20 jumps to try and reduce my speed and be able to function as a cameraman with my ff suit. I learned a lot an would recommend you to do the same. But for the real thing, you need large wings and a cotton-front suit if you want to fall slow and keep on level with skinny people in RW/Students/and everything from a 4-way and larger. I've even used my fast camerasuit for a 2-way RW jump. otherwise i couldn't keep track with the other guy. Keep in mind that if you really want to learn how to fall slow on your belly, just start doing hundreds of RW jumps. The same is for FF. The suit don't fly you, you need to fly your body. The suit only helps a little. I was jumping with just shorts, shoes rig and helmet once...reached almost 160mph in a normal boxposition, and almost 165 when i put my arms on my chest and arched a little more...I "normally" fall 10-15mph faster the average in a normal boxposition.

adrian nichols did that under a bigway or world record attempt. If he had equipment similar to TV-networks or s small system that we could use, I don't know. But a full face would definitely help. The video adrian made had a lot of noise in it, and he used an open face. 2 cents your way "Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you long to return." - Da Vinci www.lilchief.no

I had my 3 first successful runs of GL in a ski resort this weekend, and I love it! Skydiving is off course the thing still, but it was incredible how sweet it felt when i lifted off from the slope! I learned 2 things from these 3 rides. 1) why a small wing is a good thing 2) no wind is best. The last 2 runs i had slightly crosswind coming from the right, and I had to work a lot to keep my canopy stable and flying. I would not have felt safe under anything larger then a 135 stiletto that I flew Saturday. I and another skydiver(who has done this before, and can mentor me which is very nice of him) tried to day, but the winds where stronger and just not safe. This shit is sweet! =D yes I'll try it out more! this was fun. just a little off topic note, Ted Strong(owner of Strong Enteprises) jumped a 14sq/ft canopy during testing for his military Screamer project. He didn't land it, but it shook him a lot ;) You can hear him talking about it on Skydiveradio show #8 from approx 43min into the show. Details are there. Direct link to Skydiveradio show #8 is here: http://media.libsyn.com/media/skydiveradio/sr8_09_27_05s.mp3 "Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you long to return." - Da Vinci www.lilchief.no -
Deal! I just started shooting pictures in freefall with my Canon 350D. I used autofocus on all photos and it never failed me. are there any con using autofocus? i know that autofocus uses 7 marks in the frame to measure the distance and light(i use fully manual settings, the only auto is focus) and that may screw up the focus in some cases. We've done SL from an AN-28. Not really a problem, but some mods has too be done. The student will get tossed around a bit more since it's a tailgate. Also when doing dummypulls the student need to do it after 2sec so the instuctor can see the pull. The reason is that the canopy will deploy faster then from a c-182. nice! have you done any editing to enhance the colors in your photos? I can't tell if it's my computer enhacning the colors or if they're edited. What setup do you normally use for these conditions? ACTUAL: Jump numbers before flying a Camera
lilchief replied to bomb420's topic in Photography and Video
I had 7 training jumps without the cameraheltmet prior jumping with camera at jump 173. At 455, this Saturday, i added SLR. I was surprised that it took away my concentration, just like a the first jump with a regular cam. Really cool effect you get from using fill flash. Look like it could have been shot in blue screen and added into a regular picture. nice =)
