    No, but it will affect the recovery arc. Shorter risers will reduce, and longer will extend the recovery arc.

    I don't see any harm. It doesn't look good, but as long as it doesn't move upwards on the back, it not a big issue IMO. I've also never read any reports of this being an issue in any incidents. Mirage are good and safe rigs. To the OP: I wouldn't worry about it. for reference, I jump vector.     from my experience with a 40D, Err 99 is a general "something is wrong but I can't figure it out my self"-code. I had to turn it in for service since no contact cleaning, lens change or any other troubleshooting steps worked. The problem was a mal shutter, and it was replaced.     I was inspecting a main canopy yesterday. As I peeked into one of the cells this little bugger jumped at me. The remarkable thing is that the canopy was packed when I got it, and had been packed for 5 days before I opened it. It had also traveled from Morocco to Norway just after getting packed the last time! I'm puzzled.... and sad that I had to kill it since it survived this ordeal... What other stories are out there of bugs and creatures being packed into a parachute(and possibly scared the crap out of a rigger)?     Sabre, Merit and Springo(old ones) opens FAST! =D Stiletto and samurai I know for a fact opens fast if packed normal(not trashpacked). But I also "know" that Mamba and katana may open fast.     just throwing in how it's done in Norway. All student and rental gear must have a full inspection and repack every 6 months. And 3 months after last full inspection and repack it needs to have the harness and main canopy inspected. Does USPA only require a repack according to the reserve pack date without anything else? My full manual settings on my 40D are: f8-11(depends on the light avaible) Iso 400 Shutter 500-640(depends on the light avaible) 15mm focal distance Focus fixed on 2meters WB: sunlight high speed burst JPEG full res the safety is allways sportsfunction, but when useing a Sigam 15 f2.8 the camera will use f2.8 untill reaching a shutter well above needed causing DOF(depth of field) to be short. Av-mode may compensate for that.     I think you'll risk more by having the reserve container opened then leaving the spring under tension. Remember, the reserve PC is made with the intention that it'll keep it's strength for many years, maybe even 20 years. Icon are fairly new rigs, so it won't matter if it's packed another 9 months. Btw...when packing a reserve, the PC only get's some rest for 2-4 hours and then gets packed again..

    nope, but extremely bored at the moment snarf snarf This is not reagarding the flap but we had a guy in my club who's BOC was to loose. PC came out in sit, in front of his arm and as the canopy came out it slammed his arm to the helmet. Broke his upper arm and now has neural damage and the arm is somewhat useless BOC are "freefly friendly". But a sad reminder that what's ok in belly flying might not be safe in headup/headdown flying.
