That's fine...but it's not my defintion. I got it from the dictionary.

The first thing I would do is prioritize. I would do so by forming a commission. Maybe call it the 9/11 commission. I would charge them with the task of prioritizing our vulnerabilities and how we can close the holes. I would then implement their recommendations. Seems to me, that's all been done but the last part. I'm not an anti-terrorism expert and I haven't devoted a couple years to getting to the bottom of your questions. These guys have, but are being ignored. I think that's a problem. And when did I blame the administration for this? They are partially to blame for not pushing the issue and pushing other priorities instead. But congress needs to get off their asses and start working on some of this stuff as well.

Ladies, here's an easy way to see if he is worth your while

Or...for a more accurate assessment...you could just walk up to a guy and grab his package. Just make sure to linger for a sec so we can chub up a bit. -
Cite one source where they are quoted saying that. In fact...Pelosi voted AGAINST immediate withdrawal a couple weeks ago. And as far as being crackheads...the only confirmed cocaine use by our federal gov't leaders is by the CIC, I believe. Claiming they are calling for immediate withdraw must be based on "faulty intelligence". Because I can't find any instances of it at all, and I would never call you a liar.

There are a lot of things that have nothing to do with the Patriot Act or compromising rights that were recommended and were not done. - No xray machines for commercial cargo shipped on passenger planes. - No measures to secure shipping ports - No change in status of unprotected borders. - No unified communication system - No clear identification of chains of command between different agencies responding to the same threat. Those are just the ones off the top of my head that they covered on the program.

Nice reply....I know you are but what am I? My response was to the point that his assessment of liberal or democrat agenda is not even close to reality. Yeah, a couple of crackpots have made statements like what he posted, but in no way could anyone claim that those are stated agendas.

I'm not manipulating shit....you are. Murder is a legal term as well, and state sponsored execution does not fit that term. Murder, by definition is an illegal act. State sponsored execution is not illegal. However it is premeditated. Crack a dictionary and look up the word. Here's the first definition: To plan, arrange, or plot (a crime, for example) in advance A crime, for example, yes, but not the only use of the word. Whatever you think you're seeing through, you're making up in your own mind. Unless the state is randomly walking up to prisoners and shooting them in the head, then executing prisoners is premeditated. It is not an act of war, it is not an accident, it is premeditated, it is planned and arranged. I take it you find the idea of premeditated killing to be wrong. So do I. You're trying to manipulate language and not use the word premeditated so that you can continue defending the fact that states commit that act (without calling it what it is.)
-
Fine...I'm a legal whuffo...when did I ever claim to be using a legal term? I'm using the english language. Well, you are making me repeat myself. State sponsored execution is premeditated killing. It is planning and carrying out the killing of another human being with forethought and intention. The fact that some artificially created bodies of rulers are empowered and permitted to carry out premeditated killing doesn't make it ok, whether you knew they had that power in advance or not. If I tell you I'm going to kill you if you don't stop posting, and you continue to post, and I kill you...well, then it's your own damn fault, right? I told you the consequences in advance.
-
yeah, i get the idea. Crap. That about covers your assessment of reality.
-
Huh? I'm not saying nothing has been done. But the things that were recommended to prevent against another attack on the scale of 9/11 have not.
-
I watched the show. It was chilling. Basically, none of the recommendations from the 9/11 commission have been implemented. We're no more prepared today then we were 9/10/2001.
-
Premeditated killing is killing with forethought and planning. That's what state execution is. The fact that you're making the correlation between that and murder is something that you need to rationalize for yourself. Particularly since you seem to be defending it.
-
premeditated killing = killing with forethought and planning. That is what an execution is. Let's at least be honest about that. If you want to defend an action, at least have the balls to call it what it is. I'm of the opinion that state sponsored premeditated killing is always wrong and always unnecessary. I don't understand why anyone thinks anyone should have the power of life and death over others given to them.

is that why America pokes its nose in the affairs of other countries? Something that Britain has never done, right?

Non Christians.......Celebration of Christmas?
ReBirth replied to markd_nscr986's topic in Speakers Corner
You're right. Those segments of society whose beliefs aren't unoficially (and officially) sanctioned and celebrated by the gov't and the majority of society should learn their place and celebrate our holilday anyway. Or at least marginalize themselves by doing something different so we can ridicule that. -
Am I the only one not missing the irony of accusing a large and diverse group of people of having the trait of bias?

How many of you have forgiven Osama Bin Laden?
ReBirth replied to ReBirth's topic in Speakers Corner
Pakistan? Give me a break. He's in Iraq. Why else do you think we are there? -
Man...i just am not following any logic to what you're saying at all. So, since it's their country we shouldn't have an opinion about the premeditated killing of a human being. Then I guess it is never right to interfere in what anyone else does ever if it doesn't directly affect you. Sounds like a complete lack of empathy to me.

Who said anything about absolutes? It comes down to the golden rule, which, you can live by without being religious. It has to do with feeling empathy for the situation of others. And it has to do with the common sense that the power of gov'ts to pass or enforce laws are given to them by the people. Even in a dictatorship, if the people aren't actively revolting, then they are giving the power to the gov't. There is no absolute power, absolute right, or absolute wrong. There's only what people believe to be right or wrong and what people allow artificially created ruling bodies to do. The right to not be killed is the most fundamental one that exists. We should NEVER allow a gov't entitity the power to destroy the most basic human right. And this has no fucking relation to the existence of a god. Back to your original point....who are they to judge? especially when they issue the ultimate punishment. Why do we give this awesome power to groups of strangers?
-
Yep, a few weeks ago about 80 thousand of us got together in my home town and donated toys to the Childrens Hospital. Of course we all then wnt out, raped the towns virgins and beat up old women in the streets. But, hey, we brought toys.
-
You're right, it is kind of strange. But they're the ones who stepped up and offered to do it. Maybe it's because they are making an effort to "appear above reproach" to try and overcome the stereotyped view of them, that you are demonstrating quite well.
-
Wow, what a complete lack of any logical reasoning. You're honestly saying that there are no morals without a god however there are laws. Where do the laws come from, fortune cookies? If you don't have morals, how do you draft a law. And aren't laws themselves designed to define what is right or wrong to do? So, 2 + 4 = 9 is illegal? Since there is no wrong? This must be that British humor...I just don't get it.

I don't follow college ball at all, but I bet $50 on Navy just based on the view of a couple battle ships coming up the river the other morning for the game. They're at dock 10 blocks from my place. The size of the guns are amazing up close. Easy to imagine them hurling a couple thousand pound shells 20 miles or so.

It's not even an evolution. The troublemakers were a minority then and are a minority now. Juding a group based on how a tiny minority of them act is pretty short sighted.
