I've packed all my own, save for when I was on student status, and hadn't learned yet. I couldn't wait to start packing my own. So, ever since jump # 20, all but 2 have been my own pack jobs. One my daughter did, and the other was when I was being turned on to the psycho-pack. Now I always go Psycho, and I can pack faster than ever, with sweet openings. Easy Does It

Buy a cheapo $150.00 Briggs and Stratton or Tecumseh-powered push mower. Better if you can get one used at a repair shop. Or even and old-style reel-type mower. It takes about an hour and a half to do my lawn, (and it's pretty good sized-) and I try to do it during the week so it doesn't mess with the jump schedule. Or better yet, get some kid to do it with his dad's mower for ten bucks, and pack for yourself a few times. Just remember to tip him once in a while. Easy Does It

1:4:1 Got two jumps in on Friday, got the whole plot ready for the veggie garden Saturday (which made Sharon very happy!) And my back now looks quite red. Planting comes next weekend. Was able to get two more jumps in on Saturday, before the club meeting. Met DZ.commer IndyZ-Sounds like he's going to be frequenting our humble DZ a little more often. Weather totally blows today- literally- like 45 mph blows. So I'm being a slug, and helped cook dinner for the little lady- (Her son, Chris, and I played Emeril- Chris can cook really well.) Beer for landing in the backyard. I was a bad boy - Spank me! Blue ones, everyone! Lenny Gavett, OC, Team Bump-n-Grind. Easy Does It

Man- I got in late on this thread- Sucks when you're so busy at work you can't post whore- Anyway- Nope - I've never been offcially diagnosed with anything. People tell me I'm nuts all the time. I've got a few other tendancies that might seem strange, but they don't seem to be affecting much of my day-to-day life. Easy Does It

Tell a girl skydiver how much she rocks
Dumpster replied to Jessica's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
And I'll say it too-- I jump on a regular basis with two ROCKING skychicks, Ladyskydiver and ZeroG - Who also greet me woth awesome hugs and smooches! As a matter of fact, EVERY chick I've jumped with has been awesome. Gawd I love this sport! Easy Does It -
If it's possible, see if you can beg several different styles and try 'em out. Make sure you know what you want as far as features go. i,e - my biggest concern was being able to open the face quickly and easily in case of fogging and to clear my ears. That rules out anything with a fixed face for me-- But you is you! (I'm a Z-1 guy myself-) Easy Does It

A trick I learned from a watchmaker - Put a towel down on the table before you start work - If you drop a screw or spring, it won't go bouncing or rolling away, and will be easy to see on the nice white terrycloth. Easy Does It

In addition to all the good advice above, if you'll be taking a break for any length of time, you may want to pull your PC out of the pouch to keep the spandex from stretching out. It will develop a "memory" over time and may not hold the PC as securely. (A tip I got from one of our riggers on Safety Day this year.) Question for everyone/anyone. When the rig is setting in a car trunk, or in my case, behind the seat of my truck, in a bag and away from sunlight, how hot is too hot? I plan on jumping as often as I can after work, and I'm just wondering if I should make it a habit of taking it into the plant with me. I can stick a thermometer in there and check - Easy Does It

Single malt scotch- Ratholing jump money- Spoiling my kids when they come to visit- And in a very great while, a nice mellow buzz-- Easy Does It

Jeeze! I can't beleive I've only made 16 jumps since the first- This weather really blows- But I've done 10 in the last month, and to meet one of my goals for the year (D-License) I'll need 20 per month average. It's doable. Easy Does It

0:4:1 That first number is getting old- BEER! Got our Team Name- We're Bump -n- Grind. Thnaks to Holli M. for christening us as such. Look for us on the rookie circuit! Four great team jumps Saturday with ZeroG, Ladyskydiver, and Cody. Got some great coaching from Lem, and I think we're really starting to show some real improvement. This is kickass! Spent today playing Joe Homeowner, working in the yard and such. Wow. Fun. Easy Does It

I've been kicked n the face pretty good a couple times doing RW (enough to spin me-)- I was wearing my full-face Z-1. If were an open face. or no helmet, I probably would have suffered some damage. I still have a Pro-Tec, but haven't used it in over a year. Easy Does It

Thanks Dove! And listen up everybody - NO BAD NEWS WILL BE AUTHORIZED THIS WEEKEND! (Or at anytime, for that matter!) Now if you'll pardon me, there's a beautiful blue sky waiting! Let's go play! Easy Does It

Hugs to you and your Dad from me, too! AND in spite of all the ( negative ) stuff going on, I'm going to leave work early and join Ladyskydiver, ZeroG and hopefully a fourth team member and jump tomorrow. Your Dad must be pretty tough, just the same! Hope the ribs heal quickly! He'll be able to look at the video one day and laugh. Or if he really needs a good laugh, he could watch the Bulls play the Lakers. Easy Does It
